"Something or someone," Charly asks before looking at Captain Rose as she enters.

"Hello there, I guess this place's effects go beyond the restroom," she says as she notices the corridor. Turning back to the young woman, Charly gives her a reassuring smile.

"Well, whatever it is you're looking for, I don't think you're going to find it in a bathroom stall. We'll get you out of here. I promise," Charly says while holding a hand to the girl and grinning in the most reassuring way she could.

...fine then. Be that way and all make your saves. See if I prepare really cool scenes for tripping Hunters in the future.

Your grasp on reality is commendable. But as the room flickers out and back to the damaged version you'd expect Charly noticed that the girl went with it. It was clear she was more tied to the past than the present despite her doubts.

Her eyes do widen, however, as you flicken in and out of her existence. "Where did you go?"

Carlos watches the room flicker and sees Charly try to grab hold of the girl, Guessing she's trying to save her...

He feels things change, the newness and age transition over and over and considers what he can do to deal with whatever he helped trap.

Charly reaches out...feels the magic holding the girl to the memories of this place, like a thousand tiny threads of tarnished silver. Her magic is able to sever the threads, but not fast enough. It will take an anchor to bring her back, someway to keep her focused where it needs to be and weaken the threads holding her.

Thinking furiously for a moment, Charly hits on an idea.

"Have you seen any of the new Star Wars movies?"

Fair warning. Charly's about to go into geek mode!

GM of all he Surveys - Still sick, but in a different way

The girl looked confused for a moment. "The ones in the cinema? The space thing?"

Carlos thought for a second, wondering what this conversation was about when he heard some static from the radio near his hip. Oh!

"Yeah, the space thing." He grins at Charly, the young lady seemed to not quite know the movie, "Speaking of space, do you have a cell phone with you? My friend and I had a bet here, and she insisted that you were a cat person, but I disagreed. Surely you must have a picture of your cute little furbaby."

He felt a shiver saying the word furbaby, realizing that he may have to dab at some point to really drive home the era.

Do I need a roll of some sort here?

There is a pause, a flicker of familiarity for a moment before it fades. "N-no, the movie with the laser swords and the big furry guy and the Princess." Still, something is obviously poking at her memory, trying to make her remember.

"Yeah, that was the Original Trilogy," Charly says, the enthusiasm draining from her expression and voice as she realizes that her idea wasn't working as well as she needed to.

"Um, what about the Avengers? The Lion King remake? Either of those ringing a bell?"

Poor Charly, if we have to get into pop music, I'm afraid she's going to be just as lost as the person she's trying to save.

Captain considered as the conversations and attempts continued. At "furbaby", Captain looked over to Carlos, barely attempting to disguise that that had sounded like the most unnatural thing she had ever heard the man say. And with some of their previous conversations - or at least briefings - that was probably saying something.

She then pulled out her phone, looking at it, a few more minutes until the radio alarm went off, "Who has signal? Even falling down, these old buildings can have odd points with good signal and none at all..." she said, both because it was useful information and, Captain reasoned, possibly more universal than movies and what it was that Carlos was trying.

GM of all he Surveys - Still sick, but in a different way

I can't resist this one.

"The Avengers? That British TV show?" She looked confused as to the relevance in the conversation.

Still, it seemed to work. As the room flickered, she remained, although it looked like she had the mother of all headaches. Instead her clothes changed into something more suited to a young woman today - jeans, boots and a Walking Dead t-shirt.

"Are you okay? Can you remember your name now," she asks as she lets the girl lean against her.

"On one hand, we know kind of how to deal with this nostalgia trap. On the other hand we still have no idea how to deal with this nostalgia trap should we get trapped ourselves." He mimes out a divers in one of those iron suits, "I think we need to investigate together but always send out one of us at a time, in case we need to pull the rope back."

He looks around, his hand going toward his hockey bag, "Well, figurative rope at least."

GM of all he Surveys - Still sick, but in a different way

"Anne...Anne-Marie." The girl shuddered at the effort it took to recall her name.

Carlos judges the magic is weaker, but the pull is still strong. Too strong. If you can't find somthing to nail her here - a memory, an image, an item or something else vital to her - then it won't last forever.

Kavax looked around. Clearly whatever they were doing was affecting the magic somehow, but it would probably fight back. He still didn't know just how this trap would affect him; he didn't really have the contextual knowledge to get trapped in theater nostalgia. At least not for this kind of theater. Maybe old Greek plays? He thought he remembered some of those being good. And he still needed to sort out why most of his memories and nostalgia were at least two hundred years old.

Still, the displacement might give him a different view on this. At the very least he could keep watch for any ghosty-things that might be getting agitated by their poking around.

Captain nodded in agreement with Carlos, though she had plenty of actual rope near the cage in her vehicle... if things came to that.

Considering their surroundings while listening in, Captain chuckled at Charly's remark, "Says the person who is also trespassing..." before her radio alarm went off. Checking her phone, she cautiously watched for Anne Marie's reaction to the tune. It was meant to be more modern music, but the phone and the various things on it meant far more to the Captain than the music coming out of it.

"It's like downloading old video games. If you aren't damaging the place it's not harming anyone to take a look round." The girls eyes widened in shock as she realized what she'd just said, and then she grunted in pain and doubled over as the room flickered back to ruin - and stayed that way. The only sound was the song playing from Nurai's phone.

"My dad would disagree," Charly says, ignoring the Captain. "Don't worry, I'm not about to tell the cops. I'm not sure how'd they react if they saw me anyway." As Anne-Marie doubles over, Charly is next to her and helping her stand.

"Yeah, that was some tenacious spell you got yourself caught in. Are you feeling better, or does it still feel like a lumberjack is using the inside of your skull for practice," she asks.

GM of all he Surveys - Still sick, but in a different way

"The Lumberjack," she mutters as she wipes blood from her nose. "I should probably act more surprised, but...spells?" She looked around the group for clarity.

"Yeah. Apparently there's a rather powerful one that was cast on this place, and you got caught in it. Sorry I wasn't able to keep from hurting you, but my specialty's more the zappy kind," Charly explains as she holds up her free hand and produces a miniature thunderhead over it that rumbles and sparks with tiny bits of lightning.

"So, yeah. Turns out magic's real. Tah-dah?"

GM of all he Surveys - Still sick, but in a different way

Appologies for the typo before - I meant Rose's phone, not Nurai. Same player, different character.

Anne-Marie stared at the miniature storm. "I'm too tired to be surprised." She sniffed again. "Is there anything I can do to help?"

Carlos considers for a second and looks to Anne-Marie, "Look, I don't think its safe coming with us. Lets get you out of this building, the reach shouldn't get you from outside." He gives a sharp eye to Charly, "I just think this place is far too dangerous; and honestly we can't have someone possibly drag us into one of those places." Cleaning the smear off of his glasses with his sleeve he continues and upon passing Charly he speaks up, "I'm just being practical. I really do appreciate where your heart is though."

He starts to move forward, obviously a little restless from the old past being dug up, "Captain, can you get a group outside ready to take care of any of the survivors we find?"

Kavax shifted uncomfortably, trying not to loom too heavily... Which was made a bit more difficult when he nervously snorted out a cloud of sulfurous smoke. Captain nodded in agreement with Carlos's request, "I wouldn't say my life is difficult, frustrating at times, but then I get paid quite well for this...walking through here so far has been quite nice...some lovely architecture." she said though it was hard to tell how genuine that idea was vs how much she didn't want the young person to not think she was in immediate danger of a horrifying death with some of the comments the others had made.

Captain finally silenced the odd song and started texting. She made no real effort to hide the screen - it was mostly codes anyways for this current mission, the threats located so far and status, that there were local officers present and that one young woman walking injured influenced survivor had been located and a request for small urban-friendly med and support team.

Awkward as it was to text with a rifle in the other hand, Captain spoke as she quickly typed, glancing up to Anne-Marie "I do agree that for someone without training and already been affected, this isn't a safe place. I have a vehicle outside where it should be safe to wait until my people arrive - but if you have other ideas, stopping you is outside of my remit. I would appreciate knowing your intent, I don't want them looking around for someone who isn't going to be there and it would be good to know if there may be other footsteps going on. They can answer any further questions and check you over and treat any injuries or related concerns. They will not pass on any information onto others... though I imagine they will have to keep the police officers around here busy."

Deal with the Agency: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (4, 5) + 2 = 11 On a 10+, you’re good—your request for gear or personnel is okayed, or your slip-up goes unnoticed - first time it goes smoothly...maybe Captain should be worried...

As you all began to head back to the fire escape, Anne-Marie replied, "I was looking for...something? I don't know." Anne-Marie shook her head. "I went into a room, and then I was in the same room, only it was a lot better. And there was a stage manager screaming at me for not knowing the script right. I couldn't remember who I was, so I ran away. It seems like forever ago."

Looking at Rose, she added, "My intent? Go home. Have a bath. Never go near a theatre ever again." Shaking her head, she continued, "I'm not going to go shout about it on YouTube, if that's what you mean. No one's going to believe I vanished for a few hours and went into the past or whatever it was that happened, after all."

She has indeed been missing significantly longer than that, yeah. A couple of weeks, I think, although I don't have my notes to have.

The most obvious location is the stage, as you know something is happening there, and that it will be somewhere near the stage - the heard of the building - that this spell was set.

Captain shook her head at the YouTube comment but said little else while escorting Anne-Marie out with the others. Really, with all that was on social media, one more person spouting off wasn't a concern for them unless their personal details got involved - and Captain practically never gave any personal details beyond the company she worked for that was involved in enough conspiracy theories to be easily overlooked if brought up. Captain just didn't want to waste her people's time looking for someone who wouldn't be there and Captain didn't want another person who said they were leaving to try to sneak back in to a dangerous situation and get hurt, but the young woman seemed genuine enough. Time would tell and explaining that to a survivor who looked like rest would be the best medicine wouldn't do much good. She finished her message that the first survivor was choosing to head home on her own, but gave a description in code just in case. They would most likely need the back-up for at least one of the victims so getting it now rather than later seemed wise.

Captain checked her weapon one more time at Carlos's question, "Let's see what you all found while I was digging through the paperwork."
