"Ah, oh. Looks deep." Aishe shrugs, and joins the others in the descent. After all, he's in his element now.

Spiralling down the slop you find a pit that descends 30 feet down. Luckily there is a piton with a rope attached from the Lastwall's expedition before they turned back.

One by ne you make your way down the rope into the upper crypts. A massive, jagged hole opens in the ceiling, and another directly below it in the floor of what once must have been an enormous pool. Heaps of bones fill every corner of the room.

The Trepid Well, which pierces several layers of the Gallowspire dungeons, passes through this large chamber, where attendants cleaned flesh from bone in a massive alkaline pool. An opening in the ceiling leads up to the Upper Trepid Well (Where you just came from)

Doors exit this room to the north and south. Staircases lead down to the bottom of the pool and the pit in its bottom to yet another dungeon level below.

When we clear this out, I am betting 20 gold that this place becomes a Linnorn Lair within 30 years. Look how big and expansive it is. It'll attract one of those for certain.

What Atium probably missed, is that this is almost certainly too warm weather of climate for such a creature, as he once felt "the south" was too hot, but he's now adapted to it having migrated to the area for over a year.

Atium doesn't look around, he is the type that waits for the creatures to show up and then he'll charge at them. Plus he doesn't see too well at distances.

Heading north Atium opens the doors to the crematorium. Long ovens line the walls of this large chamber. One still crackles with flame, though the room is cold. Gallowspire’s crematorium was used to torture and dispose of both allies and enemies, and it was among the first of the titanic dungeon’s features to be shut down after the dungeon was sealed.

In the wake of Tar-Baphon’s defeat and imprisonment in Gallowspire long ago, several psychopomps launched their own raid against the lich to reclaim his soul for judgment. The Tyrant and his forces slew the vanth soldiers but preserved their commander, named Essarta. Tar-Baphon tortured the outsider for centuries for the insult of suggesting he be subject to the same laws as common mortals. The lich ultimately used his extensive mastery of necromancy to mummify the still-living outsider, transforming her into an undead abomination.

The mummified remains slowly turn at the sound of the door. It sniffs into the air with excitement. "You smell of the Boneyard? Have you come to claim me as well?" The foul stench drives her into a shame-filled frenzy.

Atium slides over to let Vinas help in the attack. His arms contract back to normal size and he draws out his Adamantine Warhammer. Something that should prove to be far more effective. What would also be effective is a switch in speech pattern - from literary to divine.

    Shakra Arazni!
    He moves forward.
You are tough. You have my respect. I also find it interesting that you have a similar path as Arazni. Both of you took on the challenge of attacking The Tyrant directly. Both of you did not survive the exchange. Both of you were destined for The Boneyard, but dark and perverted magics have instead changed you both. What are your opinions of Arazni? Since you have some insight on her plight? Wishing to survive and be free, but hating the form and transformation?

    He swings the warhammer.

And Atiums swing misses the psychopomp and comes crashing down onto the marble floor -smashing it to bits and even creating a crater. Not since one of The Tyrants tantrums has this room seen such destructive force.

Vanyan shakes the dust from his wayfinder. Tis dust is much different from the normal dust of a dusty mummy as it causes the enemies attacks to slow slightly.

Atium swings his hammer but is much too slow for the mummy, though it does provide a decent opportunity for Vinas' blade to pierce through the wrappings.

Tessenarin begins to sing, igniting those weapons around him. Most of Aishe's bolts end up missing. One comes close as the mummy reaches up and deflects the bolt with is wrist. Aishe's last bolt follows in just behind and stabs through the mummy's hand.

The mummy sidesteps, backhanding Atium as it follows through with a fist to his chest. The wrappings begin to unravel as they wrap around Vinas.
