The Protectorate Petition Maps

Blessing of Vildeis

As Ivvora did so long ago, you have the blessing of Vildeis, the empyreal lord of devotion, sacrifice, and scars.

You each begin this part of the adventure with one blessing that you can expend to perform one of the feats below.

Burning Radiance: As an immediate action when dealing damage to an evil creature, the PC can cause her attack to ignore that target's damage reduction and deal and additional amount of damage equal to 1d6 plus twice the character's level.

Healing Sacrifice: As a standard action, a PC can touch another creature to heal it. This functions as either breath of life (healing 5d8+15) or restoration (both CL 15th). The temporary negative level from breath of life (when reviving the recently dead) only lasts until the end of the next encounter and is ignored for the purpose of determining if a PC would die from having too many negative levels. This can be used to harm creatures vulnerable to positive energy, but can't exceed 4 times the character's level.

Unstoppable Wrath: As a swift action, a PC can choose one of the following undead immunities: bleed, death effects, mind-affecting effects, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, or stunning. For the duration of that encounter, the PC’s abilities, equipment, and spells ignore that immunity for undead creatures.

Ifzari and Dhavak have both one blessing, of course :)

I'm assuming that these are one-use blessings?

Afraid there is a strict one PC, one blessing policy. However given the link between Ifzari and Dhavak I will rule that either one can activate the blessing.

Ken'ichi wrote:

Yes*. You each have one blessing use. So if you activate Burning Radiance then you couldn't activate that again or Healing Sacrifice.

If the entire party decided to use their blessing for Healing Sacrifice then they could do that.

* There might be a point in the future that might restore this use, but the Pathfinder Society will need to work hard to earn it.

Ok. Sorry, I'm not 100% clear. Do we each choose 1 blessing that we use some point during the the scenario, or are the 3 blessings available for anyone to use, which burns the use for everyone?

The Protectorate Petition Maps

I see the issue with how I phrased it in my last post.

The answer is neither.

Each of you have one generic blessing that can be used in one of those three different ways. You decide what way you are using it when you activate it.

Using one of the blessings doesn't remove options from other players.

Does that make sense?

Besides that, how is everyone feeling about this adventure so far? We are about at the half way point for this event and I wanted to know if people were happy with the pacing I've been running, if it has been too fast, too slow, confusing, abrupt transitions or anything like that?

Are you all having fun going past this midway point?

I'm enjoying it. Pacing and transitions have worked great for me, and the party has been both good and fun.

They are right. You're doing a great job, GM Blazej. For the blessing I also thought that it would be once per character, but I asked, just in case. And Dhavak is a real character for Ifzari...

The Protectorate Petition Maps

Thank you all for the support!

Bellius Vulso wrote:

You are correct. It wouldn't multiply on a crit.

I will note though, if it wasn't apparent to anyone, that Burning Radiance is activated after you hit and not when you attack. If anyone declares that they are using Burning Radiance and they actually missed, then their blessing will not be consumed.

Ifzari wrote:

I completely understand, I have one character of my own that has a eidolon that is as much his own character as the summoner that travels with him. It makes sense to ask and the fact they are both real characters is why either Dhavak or Ifzari will be able to activate the blessing.

I can either move up to put the undead in my light radius or I can heal Ken'ichi. Any preferences? Well, I could do both but I kinda hate to use a channel to heal one person.

Edit: Nevermind, I can do both. Ken is farther ahead than I thought.

Yeah. There may be a feat that allows that to happpen, but the norm for Channel Energy is either heal the living, or harm the undead... not both.

Hello, I'm going in for surgery. I'm told I should have a rather quick recovery and be back to normal in a day or two. Please bot me when necessary

Best of luck. Hopefully your recovery passes without much trouble.

I should have mentioned this yesterday, if not sooner, to keep you aware, but right now I'm taking a break of sorts from the stream of encounters. You have completed all that was available to you and there are still a couple days until the next announcement is made and I'll be back to running the encounters in full force. For now until this I'll still be responding to you all here and in the game.

I might recommend that Bahen have that last two points of damage healed via potion or spell (and any damage I may have forgotten).

The Protectorate Petition Maps

Since we are near the end I want to double check the information that will be on the chronicle sheets as I fill them out. The information I have for them is at the bottom of this post. Double check what I have for you and correct me if I'm wrong.

I do need Logan's PFS # as I forgot to get it after starting the game.

I'm also going to do the boons roll now and see who at the table wins a boon sheet.

AID TOKEN #1

Passing Aid Token to: GM Blazej
Current Boosts:

We can boost it with either

Timely Inspiration (Aurus Goldson)

or

Burst of Healing (Lukian)

The Protectorate Petition Maps

I would encourage you to declare the use the aid token quickly to get it moving to another table.

I also wanted to ask a more direct question about the blessings. Is any character unwilling to use their breath of life blessing, including Ifzari, to heal a person that has been killed?

This doesn't change how I'm running this, but I want this to be known what everyone will or will not do to heal another.

Grand Lodge

Male Human Ecclesitheurge Cleric 1| HP 4/10 | AC 10 T 10 FF 10 | Fort +5 Ref +1 Will +7 | Channel Energy 1/6

I would use the Blessing that way, but I've already used mine. I suggest we use the Timely Inspiration from the token. Kill this thing quicker, plus it looks like one hit is enough to down most of us so the healing won't be that useful.

Liberty's Edge

|LN| Tengu Samurai (Sword Saint) 1 HP 10/10 | AC 17; TAC 12; FFAC 15 | Fort +2; Ref +2; Will +2 | Init: +2 | Perc: +3 (+5 vs. surprise and to detect invisible or incorporeal creatures), SM: +6; low-light vision | Speed 20 ft | Challenge: 0/1; Resolve: 1/1 | Active conditions: None. |

Agreed. Timely Inspiration is probably best, as this point.

Sorry for my tardiness. I kept putting off a post as I wasn't sure what to do with Ken'ichi. The moment he gets swung at, he's gonna be dropped like a sack o' potatoes. But he would do it anyways, so allons y.

The Protectorate Petition Maps

Alright. I'll pass on the boon and take it as you using timely inspiration and run with that.

Don't worry about the delay as I have been in that position before (even in a PbP I'm currently in). If you are in a position like that, I would just say to just say that and sometimes you will get good suggestions either for the future or in the moment. Even if it is a nice way to flavor preparing to attack while you not wanting to throw your character through a fifty/fifty chance of being instantly downed.

The reason I pushed that last round forward is that we are near the end of the event and wanted to get at least one more chance for a round of combat for everyone before it concluded.

The Protectorate Petition Maps

Thank you all for playing. It was great to be able to run for you and I hope that you all enjoyed this run. Especially for the players new to specials in general, I hope this left a good impression.

You did a large number of encounters throughout these and I hope you enjoyed my intent to try to maintain that pseudo-frantic feeling that in person specials have.

Let me know if you have any feedback, parts you felt could be better, suggestions for the future, and other things like that.

Same goes for these chronicle sheets. If you see anything wrong, let me know and I'll get it corrected right away.
