My bad on getting the name wrong.
Kavor Doan has previously caused friction in PFS by asking other PCs not to kill, in Hell's Rebels and in Shades of Ice. So I'm not going to push the issue if Radagast really wants to kill them.

These are allies, or at least they were. I would prefer not to kill them. Which is why I held back Shredder.... and I sort of take offense when someone ignores the views of the table they are at. I know, this is kind of a harsh view, but we have had a few issues, locally, in this realm. Kavor, you have the right to push folks not to murder-hobo.

1-23 (Thread|Slides)

With a burst of speed, you charge ahead.

LT runs ahead, fearless, and hacks into the mummy and the warrior in Blue. She still stands, barely.

Radagast follows and tears into the green clad warrior. She has no chance.

We're just waiting for Tere to move. Red has taken 22 damage, Blue has taken 28.

Doing lethal damage and trying to stabilize can work if you don't take them straight to dead, and if they aren't raging or using Diehard. Mixing in some NL makes it a lot safer. Nothing we have seen yet indicates that we should be truly in fear for our lives from the possessed Twinhorns.

Radagast takes a moment and casts Stabilize on the fallen warrior. He grants her the spark of life and can see her breathe again. He can feel dark tendrils repelled just as they were ready to claim another soul.
If I did my math right, she would have died this round. 1 more point of damage and it would have been messy.

Alaric gets close, but the creature's existence is a perversion of life. It shakes him to his very core, paralyzing him for 1d4 ⇒ 4 rounds.

Kavor fires an arcane bolt at the undead, severing its ties to this plane by just a little bit.

Thran then casts some magic. Both manage to stay upright.
Mummy Reflex: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

LT decides to fix that problem. He hacks twice into the creature, but its bandages prove too thick for the third swipe to stick. He also knows he it isn't hitting as hard as he should be able to, with all of that Damage Resistance active.

Tere takes a risk and runs into melee for a strike. Blue's eyes seethe with hatred and she takes an opportune strike.
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
He avoids the retaliatory strike and knocks her out with a single punch.

The undead creature laughs. "I will serve all of you to my master, it doesn't matter how hard you try." It slams LT again.

Once you figure out healing...

The tiefling and her pet owlbear carry the wounded warriors away, and you are free to continue on. Despite the sounds of combat raging about, you reach the front lines easily.

The more experienced Pathfinders make way for the tear into the Negative Energy Plane, aiming to crush Eshikma’s lieutenants. Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin rides up to you on his horse. ”They charge blindly, into pure darkness. We may never see them again. But they go knowing you will support them.” He turns serious. ”Here are the two main ways you can help.”

Sounds like you're fighting a drake.

You approach a series of valleys and cliffs, where a lone creature flies across the sky, screeching and swooping at anyone stupid enough to get close. One Twinhorn warrior, Bayah, emerges from the tree line to stop you.

The scout jogs up and skids to a stop. “Be careful, Pathfinders. You are near the territory of one of the more fearsome creatures for miles around: a powerful drake. Several other scouts believed the beast emerged from the rift, but I’ve had a closer look, and I recognize the drake as a type common in the Hold of Belkzen, to the southwest. I’m not sure that it’s truly our enemy, though I can see that it’s angry and looking for a fight. It’s likely not safe to leave alone, otherwise it might attack us when we should be focused on Eshimka.” He rubs at his arm, which is raw as if burned. “I tried talking to it but might have given the wrong impression. Whether you defeat it with speech or spears, we can’t afford to ignore it.”

Bayah gives you general directions to the low tor where the drake lives. ”Be careful. That drake is a fast flier. It can also spit caustic acid at a bunch of people at once. They’re not smart, but they are cunning.” Bayah rubs his arm. ”I learned that the hard way!” He laughs. ”Any more questions before I scout some other areas?”

The hills in Slide 1 give a fantastic view of the surrounding area. A DC 16 Climb check will be needed if you want to climb to the peaks. You can get some cover by hiding behind them.

You do have an opportunity to speak to the drake and attempt a nonviolent solution.

    1-23 (Thread|Slides)

When you reach the foot of the hill, the drake roars. ”Who dares to enter my realm! FOOLS!” You can tell the drake is more fluent in Draconic, but understands the Common tongue enough to converse.

You can just attack him now, if you wish.

Or, you can try to converse with the drake. Be careful about your first check, as he will quickly label you based on your actions and will expect predictable behavior. A variety of different skills will be useful here.

    Bribe the Drake:
Try a DC 20 Appraise, DC 20 Knowledge(arcana), DC 20 Use Magic Device, DC 24 Bluff or DC 24 Spellcraft check. You can offer a gift worth at least 250, 125, or 25 gold pieces and see if he likes it.

    Encourage the Drake:
Make a DC 24 Diplomacy, DC 24 Knowledge(Planes) or DC 27 Bluff check to ask the Drake to help the Pathfinders and Twinhorns defeat Eshimka.

    Praise the Drake:
Make a DC 20 Diplomacy, DC 20 Perform or DC 24 Bluff check to buff the Drake’s ego, so he thinks your plan is his plan.

    Shame the Drake:
Make a DC 20 Handle Animal, DC 20 Intimidate, DC 24 Sense Motive or DC 24 Perform(comedy) check to aim his anger at Eshikma.

    Something else?:
Make an argument and a skill check. The DC will be somewhere between 20 to 26.

If you decide to talk, everyone give me your first skill check. Because it’s PbP, I’ll just choose the best ones so we don’t lose too much time. Remember your first impression is very important here.

Bribery! Kavor Doan has already earned all of the Faction Card boxes for the Exchange that he can get for bribing his way out of a fight, but it remains a favorite tactic.

"Great dragon, we seek your assistance to defeat the evil of Eshimka. As is fitting for one of your stature, we bring you gifts of gold."
    Kavor Doan offers 125 gp.
    Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Using my Folio reroll on that.
    Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Kavor Doan recalls some lore about drakes and works it into his flattery.

I make some slurping noises as I try to get all of the healing potions down as quickly as possible.
    CMW potion: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 4) + 3 = 15

    Answering the earlier question.
"Yes Tere I have a bow well suited to my strength but I'm not real good with it."

Attempting to assist with the bribery which is a little weird to me but not out of the realm of possibility.

"Yes gold things for you to help." I also get out 125gp to add to the pot.

Tere contributes more gold to the pile (25 gp) and addresses the creature in Draconic. "Great indeed is your fame."

    Use Magic Device aid another: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

"What's this?" The drake sniffs the air as you approach, then flies down in front of Kavor. "Haha, you know how to show us dragons respect. Unlike that foolish weakling- he should be glad I left him with but a warning." The drake quickly shuffles the treasure away.

"Some of you even know how to speak the correct language." He turns to Tere.

    Draconic:
"Translator! You will speak for them."

He continues on, mostly in Draconic. "Well then. You have earned my attention. Speak your request."

Bribery successful. You can try to Encourage, Shame or Praise the drake. Or Something Else.

"We know that you are angry about what is going on around here, lately." starts Alaric. "But your anger is misplaced. It is not the Twinhorns who have caused the forest to wither. It is Eshimka, and you should turn your indomitable wrath against him."
    handle animal: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

    1-23 (Thread|Slides)

The drake listens to Alaric's words. "M-m-misplaced?" He hesitates and cringes for a brief second before reasserting himself. "My judgement is absolutely sound!" He roars into the sky. "Eshimka! That name has been whispered in the last week, when my back is turned. Too cowardly to face me. I will- wait." He pauses. "Were you trying to mock me?"

One more check and you've got this. Encourage or Praise the drake, or try Something Else.
