Petrok, you had the dimensions on your fireball off (Yours had a 35 diameter, instead of 40) I resized it some, to where it should be. You would actually be able to hit the blue, pink, red, and the troll-looking thing

Pink's location would be unknown, as it moved through the mist after it had formed. Petrok said he is centering it on the green humanoid creature, so I'm rolling with that.
Petrok drops a fireball where he recalls seeing the odd looking man. Incinerating a large chunk of the mist.

The creature focuses on the orb of water and blindly directs its travel in a straight line. Which directs its travel across Elenial, Barry, and Petrok, coming to a stop just in front of Roni.

Also GM: I have a boon that allows me to treat negative energy as positive energy could you please look at the boon Inahiyi's Gratitude:..form to seal a shadow chronicle? there's a link to my chronicle sheets on my profile...or a short explanation under the boons spoiler.. My thinking is if the negative level bestowed is a negative energy effect...I could effectively ignore the negative level by crossing off one off my 2 boons..(also negative levels bestow 5hp dmg..so if I can convert the negative level to I gain 5 temp HP...I know I'll still take 20dmg from the Great axe strike)..sorry to make you work..but we are playing a higher tier with lower lv characters and I'm grasping at straws to try and not get wiped..if the negative level ability is not a negative energy effect I will understand..if you rule against using this boon. (in mean time I'll adjust my character as if the negative lv. applies)

Negative level doesn't *do* 5hp of damage. It reduces your maximum hitpoints by 5. Similar results in the combat, difference outside of it. So your Max hp is now 45, with 20 damage. So you're at 25/45.

Gimme a minute to look at the boon, and I will give you a ruling

Edit: Looking up the boon, the creatures' ability, and the definitions of "negative level" by itself leads me to: The boon specifies healing/damaging from positive and negative energy. The ability doesn't mention negative energy, nor does the definition of "negative level."
So I'd say that boon does not have effect on their attacks.
Were they using Enervation, which specifies Negative Energy causing the effect, and the healing to Undead, I would say the boon would work. But on just the penalty of a negative level of these attacks it would not.

PS No need to apologize about the "extra work." I want to run a fun and fair game here. And negative levels are rough.

Petrok snatches the items away from the creature, Bah! this one is worthless! I assume we agreed to to not, slay it if it surrendered? Seeing a couple of his fellow Pathfinders nod yes to the question..Petrok's shoulders slump in resignation.. Seems a shame to let something so repugnant live on.. Petrok, lifts his voice so the creature can hear clearly. I know not what fossegrims' live like..but, know this We are Pathfinders and we 'keep our word'. You will be shown mercy, but should you every attack us our any of our allies again....we will destroy you. Petrok looks at Eorsten and imagines he sees a twinkle of approval in the solemn holy warrior's eyes.

Petrok motions to the others to get moving, Come we must be about our business! Looking to Elenial Windwalker Petrok says, Will scout ahead again for us?

After the party is away from the pool and further down the trail Petrok addresses Dark Claw,

Dark Claw wrote:
Uhh.. Guys, not to interrupt, but does anyone got a way to deal with this negativity problem some of us have been dealing with?"

Petrok raises an eyebrow at the Half-Orc, The answer to your question is...'we don't' the effects may wear off by tomorrow for some..but others they may linger. My magic is simply not powerful enough to counter-act the negative energy those undead monstrosities infused in us. I have a lesser version of a spell that could help....but, in these circumstances...I can do nothing. Petrok shrugs his shoulders and continues down the path behind Eorsten and Windwalker.

GM please note I have Heightened awareness in effect...the next initiative you roll for me, please roll twice and I will drop the spell...thx.

"Oh! You are Pathfinders! I would not turn back on our agreement. I have heard of your fearsome reputation, and your Society's desire to acquire wealth whatever the cost! In fact, I admire that you don't let silly ideas like morality stand in your way! But I have allies too, and we have an agreement, you and I. If you kill me my allies will seek revenge on the Pathfinder Society!"

"Hey, a promise is a promise, right?" He calls back cheerfully. "But of course, we can't know if you've fully complied until such time as we head back out, and you continue to behave as we cross back over."

"So we can uphold our part at that time as well. I'm sure your allies can console you while you wait."

He doesn't mentioned what happens if he doesn't make it back out.

From a considerable distance, the cliff face at the base of the mountain appears corrugated from erosion. Two pairs of enigmatic, smiling stone faces are carved into the face of the mountain. These faces flank a precariously tall, ten-foot-wide stone staircase that leads to a flat plateau 60 feet overhead.

Basically, the steps are so steep they must be climbed with climb checks. The faster you intend to climb, the more difficult the check. It is 10 feet wide, but you may all try climbing at the same time regardless.

Please indicate whether you are climbing or not. And at which speed (options are: half speed per move action, quarter speed per move action, or 5 ft per full round). Having a full stat block for your character that I can access would allow me to make the checks for you, and speed up this part of the scenario.

Also, Dark Claw, Barry, Petrok, and Eorsten all still have 1 Negative Level. Which means these climb checks have a -1 from your normal climb checks.

If you just want to give me your preferred climbing speed, and your current land speed and climb modifier, I can just breeze through this for you all by making all the checks and narration. Rather than you making rolls and waiting for results.

How hard a climb is it? Can we just take a 10 and move up together?

Dark Archive

Veteran's Vault Maps | QFP2 - On Hostile Waters Maps

It is a very steep climb, with uneven footing (they are "stairs" just steep and uneven). There is some risk involved. There is no combat or "distractions" at the moment, so you may take 10 if you wish. But your speed of intended climb determines the DC.

BEFORE Roni starts climbing, he refreshes his heightened awareness:
UMD for HA: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21 -> Success
And Lucky Number which he used during the previous fight:
UMD for Lucky Number: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
Lucky Number: 1d20 ⇒ 5

Roni pulls out 100ft of silk rope from his spelunking kit, looks up, and propels himself through the air with explosions, flying 30ft straight up with a standard action on the first round, another 30ft on the next round, and a bit forward on the third round to land on the top. If nothing interrupts this "climb", he throws the other end of the rope down and secures the other with a grappling hook, to help others climb.

"Use the rope!" He shouts, once it's secured. "It's probably easier to climb than the stairs!

Flame Jet: Utility talent, doesn't cost burn, propels me 60ft in a straight line including into the air, any movement upward costs double, and if I end my turn mid-air, I fall on the next turn unless I use flame jet again.

Alright. In light of Roni being a rocket ship (awesome! But also "omg really?!") What is everyone else doing with their first two "rounds" climbing the "steps?"

GM My extended Heightened awareness was cast when my CL was 6th (it's now 5th as u know) so does the spell last 2hrs or 100 min? Also how long have we been inside the tapestry? FYI if my Heightened awareness is still active...the next combat I have I'll dismiss it for a +4 to my initiative.

Petrok looks at Roni Showing off and decides to do a little showing off on his own: However, first he resolves not to be caught un-prepared, like he was when the Fossegrim ambushed his group. Therefore, Petrok takes out his extend meta magic rod, and cast Barksin on himself. (AC:21 now..for 100 min) After putting away his meta magic wand, Petrok cast false life upon himself.
False Life HP: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

After he is finished casting his defensive spells, Petrok shouts up to Roni, You're not the only one who knows how to fly you know! Petrok yells with a mirthful grin.
(that's what Petrok does with his two rounds of actions while Roni is flying up the stairs.)

Spell duration is dependent on level of the caster at the time of casting, so 2 hours. Running close to 2 hours now, but you still have it up. I can let you know when it drops.

Elenial is waiting for Roni's two rounds of Rocket Ship, then?

Roni, you stated 100 ft of rope. I'm assuming it is full 100ft in length, and not knotted. Is this correct? (affects DC of climb checks for party members using the rope)

Yeah, spelunking kit comes with 100ft of silk rope, haven't knotted it beforehand. Probably should have, but hadn't thought about that before.

GM my adjusted climb is +3 (after taking the penalty for neg lv.) question is this a rope just dangling? Or is the climb braced against a wall? If it is a braced against the wall Petrok will just 'take 10' if it's dangling rope...Petrok will cast 'fly'

the rope is against the "steps"

Eorsten, I need to know what speed you are climbing. And is that going up the steps? Or waiting for Roni and using the rope?

As a general rule, everyone, explanation and detail in your posts are helpful. Just die rolls can leave a lot to be communicated.

GM, you're being a little overly evasive here. why can we not just determine what speed we can go at, safely as a whole, and do that?
[ooc]We could pick a speed, if we had some idea how hard it was to maintain...
Its not like we don't have a zillion steps to figure out what will work. 8P

for the record: Touchy's at a +0, so DC 10 doable at a take 10, anything higher not so much.
