While staying in cover, Baragh pulls out another serum out of his pack, and uses the one in his hand to inject himself feeling the sweet release of soothing medicine entering his bloodstream
Vecro double times it forward before doing a swan dive on the floor
Mec-01 moves and takes cover.
Kaeon advances to catch up with mec-01 and take position near him.
Ella shoots at the southern sniper with her laser rifle from cover.
The masterful delivered shot enters the enemy snipers scope and enters his eye socket doing massive damage and setting part of his face on fire.
Seeing all his shots missing, Mute decides to reposition himself and goes running full speed to close the gap.
The sniper Ella shot suffers from the opposite of brain freeze as the inside of his skull is cooked by the residual heat of the laser blast and his head drops even further to the ground then it already was with what you imagine is a solid *thud* as it hits a rock.
While the other sniper stands up from being prone and fires a shot at Mute as he comes running up the cliff

Revvy, the count on my tracker is correct. I have 0 SP and 14 out of 20 HP.

@Stroidjumper; I'm pretty sure that it's mostly this somewhat unusual encounter. No need to apologize about anything
Baragh sees that the southern sniper dropped by a masterful shot by Ella. With that he sprints forward, running at full tilt to the northern enemy.
Feeling a trickle of blood on his leg, Stroidjumper switches gears, swinging his rifle over to the other enemy and looses another shot. His aim is true as he manages to hit the sniper as it's backpedaling out of cover and takes a solid hit to his chest
With out the bonus for prone and from cover (and distance penalties) they are not that hard to hit

Kaeon takes a shot with his tactical rifle and like Mec-01 seconds before him also manages to land a hit dropping the last enemy.
After going through the bodies you find out that both have an estex suit I, survival knife, tactical Diasporan rifle, mk 1 serum of healing and a grappler each.
One of the sarcesians carried a small datapad, currently showing a holographic projection of the terrain of this area around Blackmoon. The display shows an area further east of the canyon marked with a strange insignia.
The area marked on the datapad is an elevated area of Blackmoon designated as “the Roost.” The area is another hour’s journey from the canyon, roughly 1–1/2 miles away.
The other sniper carried one credstick holding 350 credits.
As Baragh (and anyone who wishes to join him for this) returns to the pillars in the middle of the canyon go pick up his dropped weapon near the -not used for protective detail-corpses of the security guards he thinks there might be some glint of something in the corner of his eye.

Sighing, Baragh sees the creature fall....he slumps a bit, feeling drained and a bit achy. With that he slips back the serum of healing he is carrying to Vecro, and pulls out his other serum and uses it.
Vecro, keep your serum of healing...so you don't use yours up. I am find with using both of mine.
Serum of Healing mk 1: 1d8 ⇒ 3 Blech, that is an average of 7 on 2....just under the average....
Looking over to Mute, "If they don't have any rope or cable, I have 50 feet worth of titanium cable if you want to use it." With that he pulls said cable from his backpack and hands it over to Mute.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 10
With that,Baragh walks back to pick up his reaction cannon, and as he walks by Civ, he carefully picks him up and retraces his run back to the rest of the bodies, picking up the arm that Civ lost, and maybe a few other loose odds and ends. When he gets back to the bodies, he lays Civ down with the other bodies, and gives a quick quiet prayer. With that he looks around, picks up his reaction cannon, and heads back to the group to discuss what should be done now. And maybe to see if he could grab the other 2 serums of healing to restock his.
"Aye, I don't want to sound like a sniffling babe, but think we can take a 10 minute rest here, to discuss what has happened, maybe even send what we know to our contacts?"
With that, if the group agrees, I would like to spend 1 RP to get my stamina back. Baragh was a GREAT meatshield...the rest of the group only taking a total of 18 damage...I think he did his job more than adequately.

Solarian seeing the last sniper to be taken down, breathes out the air saying: "We are still alive."
Whole energy and movement of his armor simply go away and the moving darkness crawls up his limbs and forms a mote flying above his head. Vecro cleans his starknife thinking that it was fortunate that he had a chance to score a hit in this fight. It sure was a weird one.
After seeing what the snipers had, he helps to pick up parts of Civ and looks through the security guard bodies for more clues. Given that they were exposed to the atmosphere there is not much to see there.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
When looking at the bodies Vecro notices something in the ground. When he digs it up it turns out to be a cred stick with a note: "Vacation in Verces".
Kasatha decides to take rest with the rest of the agents saying:
"It was an unorthodox fight and you all did well. Good job agents!"
While resting Solarian listen to the audio message that we were able to receive. How the voice sound? Can I determine if was it a man or a female? I assume it was spoken in Common, any particular accent that we could hear?
"So it seems that we have at least one more player: Fayetta and someone who stands behind this all."
Vecro
|
Using the pause and allowing the rest to recover, Vecro calls the Taylehm and reports:
"We found the canyon without any troubles and stumbled onto two snippers that were harassing the dig site. Alas, they killed all 3 security guards before we came here. On top of that, they booby-trapped their bodies which caused some damage too them. I am sending you coordinates so that you can send someone to recover the bodies."
After taking a breath:
"We took care of the assassins and recovered a map of the area with a sign marked on it and an audio file that we are transferring to you as we speak. Do you know anyone that goes by the name Fayetta that would be in such line of business?"

Actually if you take the time to examine the bodies a bit more closely you notice (with a DC 14 medicine check) that they've suffered from sniper laser blasts....which to me is sort of a big Duh, but might be nice to confirm that they were killed by the snipers that shot at you as well
While resting Solarian listen to the audio message that we were able to receive. How the voice sound? Can I determine if was it a man or a female? I assume it was spoken in Common, any particular accent that we could hear?
The voice sounds male. I also assume it was spoken in common since it's not mentioned anywhere that it's a different langue. The accent sounds like it's from someone who's spend most of his life on a planet with a toxic atmosphere..or as you might say; a native

During the rest, Baragh, goes and gets the 2 Serums of Healing that the snipers had and slips them into one of his pouches. He produces his hip flask and tries to figure a way to drink it around his environmental protections...maybe some kind of one way straw???
Hopefully he can get to some nice alcohol to help with the aches and pains....
Baragh listens to the recording with the rest of the group. "Fayetta....the sabotage mentioned....I wonder if that was the damage we saw on the machinery where we took refuge while the storm happened. Also, it sounds like this is some kind of feud between the Bone Sages and Sarcesian's....I wonder if this enmity to the 'puppets' is something that the 'puppets' did, or just the hatred between the Bone Sages and Scarcesians....anybody know anything about this feud?"

How do you want to approach the hour long trek? Just to toss out some examples of what I'm looking for in what you are doing..slow and carefully looking behind each rock for more snipers/ambushes while giving whomever might be waiting more time to prepare or even move on? Steady normal pace? Going as fast as you can possibly arriving fatigued? Sending one person out in front of the party as bait..I mean "advanced scout"?. Walking in a single file line behind each other, walking in a nice grenade cluster formation? Spread out to avoid everyone getting hit by an area attack but bigger chance of someone getting hit due to covering a larger area?
And yes, something will happen on the way there ;) I'm just looking to see if there's something you might reasonably would be doing to possibly avoid/lessen the impact it will have as opposed to just going *Boom* everyone roll a save or die because nobody said they would look behind the 3th potted plant from the left while walking down the corridor from encounter A to encounter B kinda stuff even though there's no mention of a potted plant at all

"I would suggest that one of us--I easily volunteer--walk forward to set off any hidden snipers, and probably do the 'barbarian finding of traps' as me da used to call it. Maybe the rest of you should follow around twenty to thirty feet behind, maybe spread out so that grenades and missiles don't hit ya all."

Mute autos the sense motive
Looking up a Baragh, Mute ponders the dwarf's comment for a moment and then speaks, "Well, if we gotta hoof it, we should get started."
He reaches up and punches Baragh in the thigh and says, "Take a break, old man. We'll give them something a little harder to hit this time."
He grabs the cable from Baragh and starts attaching it to the grappler, not seeing if anyone is following him.
I figure we strait line it but spaced 30ft or so to not catch an AOE but staying in eye sight. I figure Mute would wander at least the 30-40ft in front with the occasional "shiny" moment where he would dart into a rock cluster or ravine then rejoin.
Vecro
|
Vecro nods and accepts that fact that he is not a material to be a scout. He will keep his eyes open to whatever comes. Solarian keeps his pike in one of his hands (maybe that is because it is so long that you can't really hide it anywhere).
Did Taylehm responded in any way to my report? Like saying: you are heading into the mount of destruction that is swarming with deadly creatures. Or maybe she explained who is Fayetta.

Did Taylehm responded in any way to my report? Like saying: you are heading into the mount of destruction that is swarming with deadly creatures. Or maybe she explained who is Fayetta.
Sorry, I saw it and then got distracted and forgot to respond
"Good work, so you think the problems is solved now that you took care of those assassins? Or do you think there's someone behind sending them that still needs to be stopped? And no, name doesn't ring a bell"
Since you didn't actually mention going to that location she didn't respond about heading into a mount of destruction..also she doesn't know anything about it (neither does Berchta btw)
Berchta comes walking over and overhears you mentioning sending the coordinates to arrange pick-up of the bodies of the security guards
"Me will wait here and go back with bodies. Seems safer then staying with you guys"
Vecro
|
Only to follow up on that question if the thing is taken care of.
"I believe the problem is not solved yet. We will head to the destination that the assassins had marked on the map and see if we can root out the problem entirely. I will keep you posted, over and out."

After roughly an hour of marching through the cold dark country side while following the holographic map on the datapad, you begin to climb into steeper terrain which is filled with treacherous loose rubble and slippery slopes.

Jump Jets have limited use, and I figure I don't want to burn charges on them to make it easier. Only if it is a ~15 feet or so climb upward would Baragh use his jump jets...otherwise he will just trudge along with the others.

Luckily for everyone you manage to not trip any more mines on your way to the top.
On the far side of the minefield is a ledge along the edge of Blackmoon that corresponds to the area marked on the digital map left by the snipers. An innocuous cavern entrance is located a short distance away and as you look up towards the skies you notice a slight sparkle in the air as wind currents start to pick up...judging from your previous experience you think it might be a bad idea to stay out in the open for much longer.

As you enter the cave system Baragh's eyes mist over with the fond memories of being underground and isn't able to distinguish between what could be a shadow or a nice rock.
After a while and Baragh's eyes focus once more he notices what might have been some pieces of rock art, but these are too damaged to be worth anything...there might be some more or less intact pieces lying around the complex somewhere.
After a few moments you notice the constant crackle of white noise over your comm systems. You are still able to communicate with each other..but calling out further is made impossible - most likely by some strange atmospheric phenomenon.
It's a rather large area and it takes roughly an hour to search through the abandoned complex.
You find telltale signs of a quick exodus, with indicators that several larger items such as a generator and mobile fortifications were expertly moved out of the cavern.
