"That is a lot of maps. Which one is the sewers?"

Great website GM - is it yours, or are you a contributor? incidentally, Timinic's ravings are not readable in my mobile browser (Chrome, on Android), they get clipped for some reason I cannot fathom. I can read them just fine on my mac though (also Chrome).

"Allofthem, er, all of them." Timinic says with forced slowness. "Well, I made some copies for Bosk."

"Do you think it was my discovery of the CHUDs and their lair that put me in danger?" he says looking gleeful. His eyes stare glassily into the future fixated upon his soon-to-be groundbreaking article on the hereto unknown subterranean humanoid species in the next edition of the Pathfinder Journal.

I can't speak for the others' martial prowess. It did take us over 18 seconds to kill a doppelganger, made an awful mess of some of us."

Timinic considers for a moment. "You're right 'guide' does sound a crass. How about 'trail-blaze?'"

Then he goes on. "Most of my research points to someplace near the Dripping Wall Distillery--have you been there by chance? They serve the best copulation on the sandy shoreline' It comes with real silicate. I'd like to go, but I'm supposed to be getting out of town like the Bosk said. He is the venture-captain after all."

A quick look at the maps and some of the gnome researcher's notes make it clear that they could be of immense help and finding the "CHUD's" lair.

Using the maps here the party can get a good idea where in the sewers to start searching (basically somewhere beyond that lower level door in the Dripping Wall Distillery).

There is no light beyond the low door in the Dripping Wall Distillery's lower tap room. The sewers feature masonry walls and slippery flagstone floors (increase the DCs of Acrobatics checks by 5). The arched ceilings are only 5 feet high in passageways less than 15 feet wide, and 10 feet high in larger chambers. Waterways are roughly 4 feet deep and function as deep bogs.

Timinic's false eyebrows rise in question as Janus ushers them past Ramyla and through the low door.

Timinic hops and bounds through the sewer being the only one small enough to keep to the low arching walkways while everyone else is often forced to walk doubled over or slog through 4' of rank, but freezing sewer water.

The gnome and his gear weigh 45 lbs. I noted the light but since Janus and Andolyn are so close in the marching order I didn't want to clutter the map anymore than necessary. There's a second light on the map now for people to use if it proves necessary.

Timinic hops off the inquisitor's shoulders when dry land becomes available.

It's a climb check (DC 13, or 11 if you don't wear armor) to haul yourself from the water. The water counts as a deep bog for movement purposes.

The flesh around the point of contact swiftly begins to rot away. Take STR damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4 & CON damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2

Then three small, pointed islets of purple trash seem to move in the stagnant water slowly drawing closer to the magical light.

When a PC can see the tiny trash-bergs they may make a Knowledge (nature) check, and open all the spoilers that apply.

knowledge (nature) DC 13+:
They aren't trash at all, but a sort of dangerous fungal plant-life known to some as violet fungus! They are on the small end of medium-size.

knowledge (nature) DC 18+:
Cave-dwelling violet fungus is dangerous because of their four long flailing tentacles. These tendrils can strike with unexpected swiftness, and are coated with a virulent venom that causes flesh to rot and decay with nauseating speed.

"Andolyn. Melee is ill-advised. The fungi are very slow-moving but their reach is long. Ranged attacks will wittle them down."

Janus casts Divine Favour, then pulls themself up out of the bog.

Take 10 for 18 on the Climb check.

He doesn't believe in 'game balance'. Gandalf always lets him pass. As a feat, he has Exotic Weapon Proficiency (beard). The city guard often question him, just because they find him so interesting. His dice bag is woven from tarrasque leather. His TPKs end game lines. His blood cures moderate wounds. He once punched a flumph. Yes, you heard me. He belongs to a prestige class whose sole requirement for entry is just being him. ♬ He is indeed, the most interesting GM in the world. ♬

The fungi shuffle slowly forward.

Hosser forces himself through the muck, and asks Immonhiel for a boon upon him and his allies.

Prayer: You bring special favor upon yourself and your allies while bringing disfavor to your enemies. You and each of your allies gain a +1 luck bonus on attack rolls, weapon damage rolls, saves, and skill checks, while each of your foes takes a –1 penalty on such rolls.

GM, since the rules don't have anything about a deep bog effecting a creature larger than medium, if I used my Growth subdomain power, could I move freely? I'm completely cool if you say no or say that counts as squeezing.

Technically it costs "Medium-size or larger" creatures four squares of movement to move a single square in a deep bog--although I personally would treat it like a shallow bog for Huge creatures are probably not count it at all against larger creatures. Either way, 4 feet of water would still be a drag on someone 12' tall. But sure as a swift action you can use it just make sure you have some space to do it in. The large room is big enough to accommodate Hosser's big form, but the tunnel leading into it would be a squeeze (5 feet wide, and close to 10 feet tall in the center--but still flooded with 4 feet of water).
