GM_Grandlounge |
Zeltyieli manages to kill one of the remaining creatures.
STR damage Sevrun: 1d2 ⇒ 1 and other save when you post your turn.
Everyone else?
Von-Dai Cress |
Apologies, I seem to have missed some notifications.
Von-Dai casts a spell, and a small glob of acid flies towards the spider in front of Sevrus.
Acid Splash vs touch, firing into melee: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 4 = 9
Natalya 'the Firebird' |
Natalya carries on across the ceiling and applies her flail once again, although being upside down is making an accurate swing tricky.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
GM_Grandlounge |
With Natalya's final strike, the last spider collapses. Even with a wild swing not having to deal with allies in the way and the height advantage from being on the roof, the last spider is no match for the Firebird.
Where to next?
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
The battle over, Zeltyieli steps forward to look at Sevrus' wound. He begins to push on the blood vessels to try to push the ichor out, then washes and binds it.
Heal (Treat Posion): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
That's a +4 on the save.
Natalya 'the Firebird' |
Natalya meanwhile comes down from the ceiling, her face nearly a red as her hair from all the blood that had been draining into her from upside down.
"I am not a spider." She says, shaking her head to try and deal with the blood rush.
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai replies to Natalya, "You are not, but the mobility the spell provides is quite useful. It will last for about half an hour, so you will still be able to utilize it. Now, shall we continue to the sinspawn?"
GM_Grandlounge |
Strength Damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Sevrus give me four fort saves.
I assuming that Zeltyieli will continue to help.
Heal treat poison: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Heal treat poison: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Heal treat poison: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Once the poison is sorted we will move to the next room.
GM_Grandlounge |
Alright, great rolls. You are cured but you still have the str damage. It should heal with rest.
Sevrus sneaks ahead.
1d20 ⇒ 12
As she approaches the corner she hears a creature sniffing at the air and a growling. Based on this she turns around before the creature can detect her scent but she does not get a look at it. The group can now hear the faint echo of muttering that sounds like nonsense in Aklo.
I have moved you all up.
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai stands just a little straighter as he hears the echo-y muttering, although he doesn't know the language. Still, he eagerly looks to the others and says, "Perhaps this is the sinspawn. We should cautiously approach and see if it is."
Von-Dai Cress |
"Sinspawn were created by the Runelords to be used as living torture instruments. They do not age, and it has likely languished here within the Crow since Earthfall. Each ones bite gives a creature sinful thoughts, of a nature associated with its sin. In this case, I imagine it fills those it bites with feelings keyed to the sin it embodies. They are immune to magical effects which ensnare the mind, and resistant to spells in general. This one in particular seems to have been dedicated to Wrath, so its bite will invoke feelings of anger and rage into its target."
I made the knowledge check on the previous page, Sevrus.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli asks, "Are the emotions enough to break our mental focus, or would it be so blinding a rage that we'd just lash out? Or do we know?"
Von-Dai Cress |
"I imagine such emotions would make it difficult to concentrate for however long the effects last. I don't know if it would be a rage that would cause you to attack the nearest creature. That seems counter-productive, as the sinspawn itself is likely to be the target, but from my studies, the Runelords of Ancient Thassilon could be...fickle...at best."
GM_Grandlounge |
Are you moving into the next room? From the noises you hear, as soon as you do so you will have to defend yourself so make any preparations and we will begin.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli says, "Hopefully, we aren't about to find out." as he unravels the scarf from his neck. He begins to mentally prepare himself to cast bless on the group, but holds back - not wanting to waste the spell if there is only a single foe.
Readied action, will cast when door opens if there's more than one opponent.
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai simply waits for the fighters to move in so he can see if his magical assistance is needed.
Natalya 'the Firebird' |
Natalya makes for the wall and places one foot on it, ready to head through the door and upwards once Marcus leads the way.
GM_Grandlounge |
Stairs descend into the room from the north, a heavy stone door blocks passage to the west, and an eastern corridor exits between cells blocked by doors of rusty iron bars. Scattered about the room are a number of instruments of torture from bygone days, now mostly gone to rot and ruin.
A horrible grey-skinned creature waits for you in the room. You hear it breathing and muttering.
Marcus: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Von-Dai: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Sevrus: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Zeltiyeli: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Natalya: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
SS: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
The Bold may act!
Sevrus:
Von-Dai:
Marcus:
Natalya:

GM_Grandlounge |
Zeltyieli's bless was cast on the group. You may still take a turn in the first round.
Natalya 'the Firebird' |
Natalya hurries up the wall once again to slam a flail at the creature from an unexpected angle.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Crit?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25 Damage: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai waits to see if his assistance is required.
Delay until I see the results of Sevrus, Marcus, and Natalya's actions.
GM_Grandlounge |
Natalya rushes in the room brutally crushing the skull of the creature.
Sevrus stikes with deft precision.
Sneak attack damage: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 5) = 6
Finally, Marcus uses his whip to rip out the throat of the creature.
Combat over. Well done. Where to next?
Von-Dai Cress |
Von-Dai strides into the room and begins examining the Sinspawn’s corpse.
”So this is what they look like in the flesh. Fascinating...”
Von-Dai begins making notes as he studied the corpse.
GM_Grandlounge |
Von-Dai finds the anatomy to be almost alien. The blood is too think it seems this like a deep purple molasses. The legs bend backwards like a dog's and there are special glands that concentrate the blood into a venom.
Von as long as you have those notes for have a +2 circumstantial bonus to identify other sinspawn.
We will go east tomorrow morning if there are no objections.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli chuckles, "Feel like I may have wasted a spell.."
GM_Grandlounge |
Heading east the group moves carefully through the labyrinthine runes with their mite friend in tow.
"Sometimes mites find 'leg-worms' down here. They are tasty but you don't want too many of them."
This circular room is empty save for a ten-foot-wide circular pool filled with clear water. The water appears to be only six inches deep and is crystal clear, leaving the tiled decoration of a swirling vortex plainly visible on the pool’s basin.
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli pauses, "Leg worms? Worms with legs? Centipedes?"
Von-Dai Cress |
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Von-Dai looks around for any more notes he can take on Thassilonian architecture or history.
GM_Grandlounge |
This pool constantly refreshes and fills with fresh water. It seems like this area is over 10,000 years old.
Mite says, "Yes that sounds like the human name. Cen-Ta-Peds."
Zeltyieli Alikathesu |
Zeltyieli shrugs, "Depends on the mechanism. I mean, probably, but I've heard tales of mechanical wonders out there, also. Easy enough to find out, though."
Casts Detect Magic.
