Xagyg raises an eyebrow.

"Really? Do you honestly think that was a good idea? Camera replay will show that you attacked us... and at the very least, will get you done for assault, possibly attempted murder."

He stands there with his arms crossed, barely acknowledging her attack.

Explicitly *not* drawing a weapon.

Jacob steps up next to Xagyg, protecting him and palming out his shield projector.

Ma'am, you seem to be in distress... put the knife down... I'm a doctor...

Um, Jacob…

...her hand suddenly splits in half, revealing a dagger integrated into her obviously prosthetic arm...

Emphasis: mine. I also moved your token to actually be next to Xagyg. But I digress.

Two vesk bouncers run onto the balcony through the green curtain with rifles in hand, simultaneously pointed at no one in particular and everyone all at once.

”What the hell is going on here?!”

Neva looks toward the vesk, a look of desperation and fear upon her face.

”These men! T-they tried to poison me!”

The vesks’ rifles settle upon Xagyg and Jacob.

”Gentlemen. Step away from Miss Kavetsaka.”

From the bar, Boron sees the Vesk run towards the balcony.

"Better start looking for a lawyer."

He finishes his drink and pays for it, stubs his cigar out, and will then walk over towards the curtains.

Placing a couple fingers on his forehead, Volcklon flickers from sight, only to reappear on the other side of the room.

Spend 1 resolve to Flash Teleport.

"I assure you we would not stoop to poison. you can check your cameras."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (6) + 16 = 22

Volcklon would only try for a moment to calm the situation before it escalated out of control.

The vesk are taken off-guard and the claws on their rifles’ triggers loosen slightly.

”Lies!”

Neva moves back and jump to the other side of the vesk, drawing a pistol from her purse as she moves.

”The shirren! He poured me a drink and i-it didn’t smell right, then this..conehead clutched at his stomach. He must’ve poisoned the decanter!”

The vesk look at one another in confusion, unsure who to believe.

Ms, a woman of your station shouldn't sink to specist slurs.

He turns, his stoic, scared face a little disturbing on a human, not to mention his shaded eyes.

Gentleman, as I was trying to advise the Ms, I'm a doctor. An attempt on her life has been made, yes, but not by my companions. She may very well have poison running through her veins right now. I implore you, even if it means you have to have a gun pressed to my head, let me examine her.

He stows his shield emitter, aware that it looks like a weapon, and holds up his hands.

Dr. Jacob Anderson of the Exo-Guardians, Medic. I fear that she may be panicking due to the poison in her system... again, guard me if you have to, but don't let the young miss injure herself in panic either!

He speaks with the calm and direct orders of a doctor.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

But diplomacy isn't his strongest suit... and he may be underestimating how creepy he looks now.

Xagyg keeps his arms crossed, in an above all non-threatening posture, and calmly notes:

"I have taken no hostile actions in this encounter, and I invite you to check the security feed to prove it. The only reason we are even here, is because Zurnala said we should talk with her!"

The two vesk look at one another, completely speechless about the situation.

Boron walks over to where his comrades and then the bouncers went, and tries to see what is going on while remaining in the background.

"They tell the truth. We were sent out here to speak with her and then all of this happened. let's all check your security feed and clear this right up. Just make sure you keep a close eye on her." Volcklon continues to press the issue.

The vesk both turn to Neva with stern faces.

”Miss Kavetsaka, what are these men talking about?”

Neva’s look of fear and desperation disappear as the look of malice glints across her face once more.

”Well screw this.”

Neva, with a flick of her wrist, slices through the curtain of green velvet flavor; the curtain is still there as she moves out and shoots at Boron!

Xagyg remains unmoved.

"See? This is the sort of behavior that I was talking about!"

Boron looks at Xagyg, and frowns: "BEHAVIOR? WHAT BEHAVIOR?! I didn't do nothing!"

Xagyg sighs.

"I was talking about her..."

Boron looks at the smoking shot he got to his chest armor.

Jacob winces at the hit.

Gentlemen... I think the point has been proven. Will you help us restrain her?

He stays near the inspector, going on guard... the woman packs a punch, and his skills would be needed soon.

Full defense/bodyguard. I know my job. :P

”Sh*t! Call this in, now!” Red yells at Green as she positions herself between Neva and Boron.

Green quickly unhooks a walkie-talkie from her hip and begins talking into it despite wearing a headset that connects to said radio. ”Apex security, we’ve got a situation—“

“Everyone get down!” The sound of rifle fire punctuates the vesk’s emergency call.

Red vs Neva EAC: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
So Damage: 1d10 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

”Copy.” Green turns to face Jacob, Xagyg, and Volcklon. ”We need to buy some time for security to get here. We’ve got innocents out there—no grenades. Let’s hope you can use the heat you’re packin’.”

He just waits.

Okay, time for me to stop being lazy. Botting Xagyg:

Even despite being restrained by Volcklon, Neva manages to dodge out of the way of Xagyg’s gunfire, which nearly hits Boron as a result!

Jacob, you also didn’t move your token to be adjacent to Volklon; did that for you.

The vesk open fire upon Neva once again!

And manage to hit the woman with one shot each!

With one smoking shot from the crazed lady, and nearly another from his friend, Boron starts to sulk.

Boron swiftly switches his big blade Lava to being merciful - She looks like a delicate thing, I'm sure he features are insured... but one never knows! -, asks Vroni to calculate the best attack angle, overcharges his weapon, and... swings--

Lava vs. KAC w. Combat Tracking: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (5) + 16 = 21
Holy, Magic, F, s (Overcharged): 2d8 + 2d6 + 15 ⇒ (7, 8) + (4, 6) + 15 = 40

"Someone tie her up! Volcklon grunts as he struggles to get her to the ground.

Maintain Grapple: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

If grapple renews then Volkclon will remove her weapon, tossing it to the ground out of reach.

Boron’s blade impacts against the unarmored woman, but a definitive ping echoes as Lava bounces back and the woman struggles in Volklon’s grip, unharmed.

The witchwyrd attempts to maintain his hold on the verthani woman, but she proves too wily and escapes the grip of all four of his arms!

Neva weaves across the dance floor, putting distance between her and Boron and Volklon. Boron takes a slice at her as she disengages and the two vesk bouncers chomp at her with their sharp teeth as she bounds past them! Also would’ve provoked from Volklon and Jacob, but I’m pretty sure those two are unarmed (and grappling is explicitly a standard action, so you can’t use it on an AoO).

Neva bobs and weaves past her opponents, ducking and dodging as if she were dancing, but is almost caught off-guard as one of the vesk manages to hit her with their sharp bite!

Neva twirls her pistol in her hand before gripping it properly and firing on Xagyg!

”AAAAAHHHH!”

Neva falls to the ground in pain at Jacob’s mental feedback, unconscious! Changing Xagyg’s action to casting stabilize.

A few seconds later the door to the club is kicked in as a troop of soldiers march in, guarding the civilians yet having rifles pointed at seemingly everyone. One soldier—a verthani woman—looks down at Neva’s unconscious body and looks angrily at the armed people—particularly Xagyg, who is standing next to the unconscious body.

”You folks want to explain yourselves?!”

Boron sees if he can go back to the bar to finish his whisky...

Xagyg responds calmly.

"She started acting erratically. I did nothing (despite being shot at), until help was specifically requested by the local security forces, at which point in time I attempted to subdue her. When she eventually fell, I moved over to attempt to stabilise her. If you care to review the security footage (or ask the bouncers, for that matter), I am sure that it/they will back up what I am saying."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28.

The soldier scoffs.

”You honestly expect me to—?!”

“Yes, we do.”

Boss Zurnala walks out from the kitchen, fiddling around on her comm unit without so much as looking up.

”Thank you miss, but I am very busy with official business—“

“I can see that, hence why I’m here.”

Zurnala shows the soldier her comm unit for a few seconds and the verthani’s eyes goes wide.

”How did—?!”

“Security cam footage. I am the proprietor of this establishment. This gentleman is telling the truth. And frankly, I find it funny that you assumed so quickly that the celebrity was the one in the right,” Zurnala glances over and smirks. ”Especially when said celebrity isn’t even here.”

The vesk beckons toward the unconscious body of Neva and everyone is taken aback. Where Neva once was is now the unconscious body of a lightly-armored human woman.

Culture: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35.

Xagyg raises an eyebrow.

"Hmmm... Isn't that Alyxi Troja, an assassin and identity thief who has evaded Cuvacaran law enforcement for several months...?"

A thought then occurs to him.

"Huh. So Neva *was* right when she claimed someone had hacked her identity..."

”Quite right. So, miss, I ask that you take this scoundrel off of the premises. And I believe there was a bounty for this woman’s arrest.”

The verthani woman grumbles slightly as she puts cuffs on Alyxi and hands Zurnala a credstick. The soldiers—now clearly law enforcement—begin questioning citizens, bouncers, etc. to get the story straight. Zurnala beckons you all follow her into the kitchen.

Zurnala stops next to a piece of machinery.

”I believe this is that transmitter that you’re looking for. Also,” Zurnala hands Xagyg the credstick given to her by the verthani woman. ”You apprehended the woman, you deserve the bounty.”

The credstick has 8,000 credits Inventory Updated

Computers 32 to continue to triangulate the source of the signal (you still need all three to successfully pinpoint the source). Engineering 32 to disable the transmitter.

Volcklon smiles beneath his mask. "That went better than expected. Boron you able to hack into this one?" He taps the transmitter with his finger.

"So, this woman I don't know was another woman I don't know?"
Boron shrugs... and pats his head.
"I've got you, Vroni!"

He starts to hum as he works on the signal and the transmitter.
