An idea which occurred (after I went to bed last night) is that Rish could some sort of Old Gods trouble-shooter (what with his druid-y background and all). As you may all have possibly worked out, there is some weird stuff going on here in the Isles. Perhaps Rish was sent off to investigate (maybe there was a disturbance in the Force, or something like that, and some elven Yoda sent him on a mission) and has since arrived (separately. I would imagine he came on an earlier ship to Port Elveden, hiked across the Sausimayok and got a lift across the Saupa Strait from a friendly native. Also means he knows where the PCs are, which might be a help.) He is turning up at the village (probably in the opposite direction from the PCs, i.e. down the stream) just as things are kicking off. Also might be fun, as he gets to be all inscrutable and secretive in that irritating elvish way (while not really knowing what's going on anyway). Does that work?

If it suits you, it sounds like fun to me. Inscrutable and secretive - I will have to play out of character and keep my mouth shut. Sounds like a challenge.

Perhaps my feline form is not the correct one for someone sent on this mission. Should I investigate something avian?

I should have stayed in hiding, I might be more useful if they didn't know I was here. As it is, I don't like our chances of making an escape with a flying and intelligent foe.

Metagame, I have to think that this is either going to be a very short game or we're going to be taken alive unless we are stupid about it.

Yeah, the whole "oh, by the way, you lose all your stuff and spellbooks and armour and weapons and start out unarmed and heavily damaged and outnumbered and and and..." points to the latter.

Of course, the dice roller is making our foes' job much, much easier.

Well, it's a bit like one of those choose-your-own-adventure books. There is a way to avoid a hideous fate worse than death. Unfortunately, it looks like you didn't choose it.

More seriously, you can expect to suffer a bit in the opening section of this. Tenro and BG weren't up for that and so they left. Just take it as read that you will be made good regarding lost equipment. Just not yet...

Also, it's a bit unfortunate that we have casters who are reliant on books. This will be sorted in the end, but it will possibly be a little frustrating for a while. Sorry about that.

Meh, I've got magic missile (offense) and web (control). If I had comprehend languages instead of snowball I'd be set. I will be working on getting a replacement spell book asap as one of my chosen class features requires it. Besides my normal spell casting I mean. That does raise an important question. If I don't have a spell book to study after we rest, do i then A) not have any spells prepaired and can't cast? B)Still have the spells I had prepaired before but can't refresh slots? C) Keep spells prepped and refresh spell slots. D) none of the above? C is best case I believe. See discussion here for different opinions.

I assume that obvious weapons, though worn, are removed. Are backpacks? I have a sash with pockets that contain my potions and such - would they take it? Just so I know what I'm working with...
