Male Human

Standing in front of the statue, next to the silver chair, is Henry, dressed the same as before. He raises his hands impressively and flashes a large grin.

"Ta-da! Natures bountiful feast! Please, dig in!" he laughs as he sits in the silver chair.

Hank and Martha quickly go forward and start stacking their plates with food. Hank then takes a seat on Henry's right (your left) while Martha sits on the right of the gold chair (also your right).

Lance pulls out a chair for Cashara and then takes a seat between her and Hank.

Madman Zulu sits on the left of Henry and Mr. DeVill sits next to her and Mr. Minkins next to him.

The Vixen had the choice between sitting between Martha and Minkins of across Martha but before she can make a choice, Mr. Frogmouth walk bare foot down the stairs, soaking wet, and sits across Martha leaving The Vixen to sit between Martha and Minkins.

When everyone has taken a seat nota chair is empty except for the gold one.

"Oh ah, Dr. Amp will be joining us soon. But in the meantime, eat! You'll need plenty of energy for the hunt and the morning comes faster than you think! I trust your rooms were to your liking? "

You can answer he question and then have a "free time" exchange with someone before the next "event"! Again sorry that I post slow and the story is a bit slow but we are getting close to the action!

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen tries to interpret Martha's odd facial expression...
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

And given the awkward tone as Henry mentions the missing Dr. Amp, VV even wonders if he is truly the same person she knew growing up...
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

(I'll wait for the findings of each check before I have VV converse with anyone.)

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

Whether fox or fairy, Fashion Bug only eats what is given from VV's plate. The difference is that VV tries to make dining more dignified for her little friend. After the Vixen cuts the fairy's food into fairy-bite-size pieces, the fairy reaches into her hair and pulls out a pair of chopsticks (made from whittled-down toothpicks).

Her bun comes undone, and the tiny person daintily sits on an overturned teacup. Her table is a saucer stacked upon another cup and saucer. The heights of the makeshift table and chair are not ideal, but Fashion Bug magages to eat in comfort.

Once she has enjoyed a taste, the Vixen tilts her glass so the fairy can drink. Drinking is tricky, as VV didn't think to pack the tea set from her dollhouse at home.

While there is no food in her mouth, Fashion Bug turns to Madam Zulu.

"You mentioned your grandfather earlier, Madam Zulu, and on more than one occasion. He has many sayings, so I think he was—and still is—a strong influence for you. I would enjoy hearing about this interesting man if you do not mind sharing a story about him."

Cashara take the offered seat as she replies to Mr. Splorer's inquiry
"Yes, it was quite nice" I say "almost like home".
With that I turn to Lance and Hank.
"Are you excited for the hunt?" I ask Lance, trying to include Hank as to not be rude

Still with it in the back of your mind you can't help but think it was your imagination because you just think of why Martha would panic...

As for Henry you do think he has changed a bit, but all people do, especially when you haven't seen them in years...

"Why of course he had a strong influence on me! Any man worth their salt would leave a strong impression on their own granddaughter! And its nice to see a young one want to learn from their elders, but then again, Grandpa Rainsford always said 'The farther East you go, the smarter the people get'! Yes yes, Grandfather had many proverbs, and I always made sure to memorize them! You see, my family knew that a child should be seen, not heard, and should listen, not question. But as for a story... Ah! I remember one time when, I regret to say, my brother convinced me to help him sneak into Grandfather's library. I helped to boost him over the hedges so that he could get into the garden that surrounded the tower were Grandpa kept his books. I remember that I was very scared at the time and thought about running away when I heard my brother give out a cry! Apparently Grandfather was coming down the stairs of the tower and met my brother on the way! I could hear my grandfather yelling at Ishmael, my brother, on the other side of the hedge wall! He asked Ishmael, 'How did you get in here' and I thought for sure that Ishmael was going to tell on me! But to my surprise Ishmael said that he had used a crate to get over the hedges! Of course Ishmael was punished severely for that and I decided to never disobey my grandfather again! Yes yes Grandpa Rainsford was a man who commanded respect and order!" the old gypsie says all in one breath. You get the feeling that she learned the wrong lesson from that experience...

Male Elf

Lance gives a nod as he serves himself a salad and then passes the bowl to you.

"Yes. Hunting is a rather peaceful past time for me. Although I only ever used a bow so I'm not sure if a gun is a different experience or not. I suppose that shooting a gun shouldn't be to hard to learn. Or at least I hope not.

Male Dwarf

"Aye! Can't say I've used a firearm very much but it is very different from hunting with a bow! At least I think so!" Hank shouts as soon as he's done translating.

He then starts to pile scoop after scoop of mashed potatoes and gravy on to his plate as he says, "Tell me lassy, do ya prefer to wear that fancy dress all the time or something? Because I can't stand this monkey suit, and I just can't imagine people actually liking theses things..."

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

VV replies to Hank, "Personally, I love being fashionable, but it helps to be comfortable in whatever attire suits ye... which I suppose ain't a suit in yer case?

"It ain't cheap, but glamered armor can produce any look ye can imagine." Of her own dress, she says, "I've no need for an additional outfit; just change the look when I've the need, and this one can be cleaned with another one of its tricks."

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

"Thank you," the fairy says to Madam Zulu. "You honor him by quoting his words of wisdom. Has your grandfather traveled to the East? My father was a samurai. I am half kitsune, in fact."

Her hands trace her own diminutive body. Not sure how else to explain her appearance, she says, "Before Uncle Henry rescued me, I was kept alive by the yousei—woodland fairies of my island in the East. I do not know if they intended their magic to transform me into one of their kind, but I am grateful for what I have."

She uses her chopsticks to snatch a tiny piece of mashed potato from the Vixen's spoon. The entire spoonful is more than a fairy could possibly eat!

"I almost starved before the fairies came. Now every meal is a feast."

Madam Zulu gives FashionBug a look of confusion and pity and then opens her mouth to say something when Henry suddenly interjects with a booming "Ah! There she is!" He then stands and gestures to the stairs and says "Everyone! Please, I would like you to meet the Dr. Wendy Amp!"

Walking down the stairs was an odd looking but beautiful woman. She lifted a pair of goggles to her forehead to reveal bright green eyes and a face splashed with freckles. Her red hair was tied up in a messy knot. She was wearing a long white coat that had been stained with gods know what. Under her coat was a plain brown dress and a vest-corset thing. She was taking off a paid of large rubber gloves which she stuffed in her pocket as she walked up the table. As she approached her boots made loud clunking sounds and she gave a small smile. Her eyes had a distant look to them, as if she was thinking about something else then what she was doing.

As she took a seat in the golden chair Henry continued,

"Dr. Amp has been managing and studying this islands unique ecosystems! I like to think that I contribute something to the world but the just hunt! Wendy here is the one who leads the march to the future! Isn't that right Wendy?"

Female Human

But the doctor wasn't paying attention. She was placing mashed potatoes on her plate with all the focus the world, making sure they didn't touch any of the things on her plate. She then said in a slightly accented voice, "Clairvol, please pass the gravy.

With that a large white rat scurried up on to the table and ran up to the gravy bowl, which it grabbed with its mouth and bought it back the the doctor. The rat was large, much larger than a normal rat, but only half the size of a dire rat. It wore a simple black collar that had a single blue gem on the back.

The doctor took the gravy bowl and poured it into the little bowl she had made with her potatoes. She then sat it down and gave the rat a pat on the head.

Female Human

That's when Madam Zulu let out a gasp of horror and looked like she was going to on a tirade, but her gasp seemed to bring Dr. Amp to the presence.

The doctor looked up with a confused look on her face as she gazed at the people around the table.

Oh... Yes that's right... We had guests today... she said to herself in a dreamy sort of tone. She suddenly snapped out of her dazed state completely and gave a large smile.

"I'm horribly sorry! I tend to get lost in thought! Hello, I'm Dr. Wendy Amp, but please call me Wendy. Um... Ah, yes, I would like to thank you for coming and I do hope you enjoy yourselves!" she says as she looks at each persons face. She then raises an eyebrow. "Um... Henry... Where is Professor Rim, and who are those four?" she says as her finger points at Mr. Minkins, The Vixen, Fashion bug, and Cashara in turn.

Male Human

Henry looks embarrassed for a moment before he says, "Well, er, the professor canceled at the last moment... Like he usually does... And these people are Mr. Minkins, er, Mr. DeVill's assistant, and, um, that is Miss Cashara Aivion, and old friend, and that is my niece, Addison and her partner, Fashionbug."

Female Human

Dr. Amp seems to compute this for a moment before she smiles and says, "Well, it so nice to meet you all! I'm sure that Henry told me all about you... At some point or another..."

She then stares intently at her food and mutters to herself as Clairvol scurries down the leg of the table and the up onto the doctor's shoulder.

Dr. Amp then nods, looks back up and smiles, then looks back at her food and makes sure her peas aren't touching her steak.

Hi guys! Sorry for the delay in posting! Anyway this is the last part before the main event! I'd like to apologize for the story moving slow and thank you guys for sticking with it! By the way this is like an extended free time! Can't wait to see how you guys react to the rest and to see your stories after we finish mine! sorry is that all came off as cheesy

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen smiles at the doctor. She definitely wants to get to know this pretty woman a little better.

"So, ye're the brains behind this island's 'patchwork' o' varied environments. I've questions for ye, Doc. It might seem hard to believe, but me powers—y'know, immense physical strength, able to leap tall ladders in a single bound... got a ways to go before I can leap tall buildings."

Having noticed the Doctor's attention deficit, the Vixen uses her uncanny talent to add sound effects as she speaks. When she says "strength," she flexes her muscle and somehow it seems as if her bicep makes the TUM of a base drum. When she talks about leaping, she moves her hand in an arc and rustling leaves can be heard from the space under her hand. And the word "buildings" is punctuated by a sound of crunching bricks as the arc of her hand suddenly stops.

(The Vixen is not using magic, but her Mockingbird talent. Think of that guy from the Police Academy movies who always made convincing sound effects with his own voice.)

She goes on, using another trick while she has a nanosecond of Amp's attention. (See die roll + spoiler below.)

"But anyway—me power source is me li'l fairy friend." She raises her hand about to snap her fingers, but then recalls Zulu's reaction to the effect, which does admittedly reveal her shape wrapped only in skin-tight silk. "And then there's me outfit.

"If there's a place we could swim before we turn in for the night, I'd love to show ye what me dress can do. It's a li'l feature known as Evolution."

The Vixen eagerly awaits an answer.

Belllflower Innuendo (DC20): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30

Dr. Wendy Amp:
The Vixen uses her talent to make sure Wendy understands her every word, especially the main point: "I want to talk to ye alone, Wendy, and swim with ye. Or if ye don't like swimming, watch me swim. I promise it'll satisfy yer scientific curiosity."

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

As Madam Zulu is interrupted, the fairy considers her own words on the fairies' intent...

"Maybe they did wish me to become one of them... though even at my current size, I could not have flown from my cage. It was... made of many tiny little X's, like in a chicken coop, but even a hummingbird could not pass through. Some fairies so small they fit in my hand came to me, and some who did not enter were twice my size. I am knee-high to the fairy leader. Even in the form of a fox, she was bigger than me, with grand butterfly wings!

"Perhaps they led Mister Splorer to me without him realizing it. No matter what, I am in debt to Mister Splorer and the fairies for my freedom. I will one day return to the east to show my gratitude to the fairies. As for Mister Splorer, what gift can one give to the man who has everything?

"Is there a saying from Grandfather Rainsford that might provide guidance? Given his impression of the east, I suspect his words of wisdom might be similar to what my father would say to me."

Madam Zulu furrows her brows and glances at the fairy. She then looked over at Henry and said in a whisper,

"I hope that man doesn't have everything... Grandfather always said 'A happy man quickly becomes a bored one'. But as for a gift... Ah, yes, another saying he had was, 'A good man is happy with any gift.' So, I believe that a simple thanks would make him happy, if he truly a good man."

Will post more later today!

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

The fairy says, "I think you have inherited your grandfather's talent for giving advice. I will try to come up with a thank-you gift that will make Mister Splorer happy, but not so happy he will be bored."

Thought Fashion Bug did notice Madam Zulu failed to appreciate her brother taking the blame for her, she suspects the old woman missed out on becoming a grandparent like the one she so honors. Perhaps in her diminutive form, she is like a child to the elder.

Similarly, the fairy lost the elders in her family, and her childhood died the day her mother was slain. Surely the Vixen feels her fairy friend's connection to Zulu.

Female Human

Dr. Amp glances up with each sound affect and stays looking with the final noise. She understands your message but the flirty tone flies over her head. She seems lost in thought for a moment before she lights up and says joyfully,

"I would love to! Let's go now!" she says as she stands up quickly. But before you can answer, Mr. Frogmouth interrupts...

"I wouldn't if I where you. Its raining cats and dogs out there, along with thunder, lighting, the waves are crashing in, and the tides up. Now you're grown woman and can do what you want but unless your like me I doubt you'll find it very fun." he says as he squishes his wet hat on his misshapen head.

The doctor's face fell and she sat back down. She was silent for a moment then she looked up with a huge smile on her face.

"We can go tomorrow then!" she says like it was the thought of the century!

Then Martha added, "Well that sounds fun! I hope you don't mind if I join?"
Martha then furrowed her eyebrows and pressed her lips before saying, "On second thought, I'll actually sit out... But you two go and fun!"

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen replies to Frogmouth, "The feature o' me outfit'd guarantee safe swimming... except from the lightning, which I guess'd not be a threat if I remained a fathom or so underwater. But ..."

She turns to the gorgeous doctor.

"Yer safety's important. As ye say, we can have a morning swim. Or, if there's a large enough bath... that might be relaxing, if ye're not shy."

Bellflower Innuendo (DC15): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18

Dr. Wendy Amp:
Wendy unstands VV's idea of large enough means "the tub can comfortably fit us both."

(Of course, your call on whether any bath that VV and/or Wendy can access fits her comfort level. While VV is certainly attracted to the Doc, the intent is to show features of her outfit and talk to the Doc alone.)

When Martha says 'have fun,' VV adds, "Oh, yes, Wendy. I o'course only suggest this if ye think it'd be fun. And I can still show ye the feature o' me outfit at the bath. I just need a body o' water for the Evolution to kick in."

Hank nods approvingly at your answer and swallows before saying,

"Ya seem like ya know yer stuff! Then again, a lot of the folks from the western part of town seem ta like their tech. What brand are your guns? I heard that ta brand really matters for those things."

Lance also seems interested in the ways of your home town. Also, you probably wouldn't have noticed it if he wasn't across from you but Minkins looks up when Hank mentioned brands.

The doctor frowns and nudges her steak with her fork, obviously in deep thought. Then she looks up and says,

"I know just the place!"

She then wolfs down her food and stands quickly, the golden chair skidding a little ways across the floor.

"Shivers!" she calls and, like clockwork, Shivers seems to melt out from the shadows. "Shivers, I need you to remove the alligator from the aquarium immediately. Oh, and bring my tool bag to the aquarium too!"

She then puts the rubber gloves on and looks at you. "Eat! Eat quickly! I just can't wait any longer! Henry! We have to put our plans on hold for a few minutes longer!"

And with that the doctor begins to practically run up the stairs as Madam Zulu grimaces with disapproval.

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen says to Fashion Bug, "I can't keep a lady waiting, now can I?"

She does take a couple more bites before calmly ascending the stairs, third-full wine glass in hand.

...

Once she manages to catch up to Dr. Amp, the Vixen says, "Will ye join me in the water, or do ye prefer to watch?"

Female Human

The doctor leads you to the second floor, past the guestrooms and down a corridor. As she leads you through the maze of a manor you notice she has a far off look and she mutters out,

"No, no... I won't be swimming, I'll be observing. Your power's called Evolution you say...?"

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen says to Dr. Amp, ”Very well then. If ye don’t object, I need to use a bit o’ magic—though not for the Evolution. So we can communicate while I’m under.”

If permitted, VV casts Message on Wendy. Otherwise, she assures her that no spellcasting is required for the remainder of the show.

The Vixen enters the tank. And with a snap, her costume evolves, hugging her flash until there is only flesh. Though this makes the Vixen seemingly nude, she is not quite like a nude woman.

Her arms and legs are jet black from bicep to hand, and mid-thigh to foot. Her fingers are like tiny tentacles, and her webbed feet are unique—like a duck’s foot if a duck had deadly talons.

Her body is otherwise splotched white and vermilion, with great vermilion fins flowing down the outer side of each limb, and another—like a koi’s tail-fin—covering VV’s rear like a flowing skirt.

Her face is black where her mask was, and though her hair and the unmasked portion of her face still pass for human, Dr. Wendy can see gills on VV’s neck.

When VV swims, she moves triple the speed of a human swimmer!

If Amp allowed the casting of Message, VV remains underwater when she asks, Like what ye see?

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

Seeing the way Madam Zulu looks at Dr. Amp, the fairy also becomes a little uncomfortable. Much to her relief, the Vixen and the Doc are doing something innocent and scientific. She suspects VV has a motive, but nothing kinky.

Oh, you are trying to get on the good side of one who controls the magic dampener, are you not?

Though the Vixen does not hear the thought, Fashion Bug feels VV's joy as she swims like a mermaid.

She says to Zulu, "I would not worry about what those two ladies are up to. Miss Vixen can use a feature of her outfit to breathe underwater, and in addition to that, she can outswim a dolphin. I believe she simply wanted a proper facility to test this before tomorrow's hunt, and she trusted Doctor Wendy would be more than happy to provide such a facility." Judging by the way Wendy rushed out the door, Fashion Bug says with an innocent shrug, "She looked more than happy to me."

she seems to plush a little as she notices that she was practically rambling "sorry, I guess I went a bit much." she says before turning to Hank "I hear most Dwarven companies make some good ones though. Ferdinand is one of them as far as I hear."

Hank nods the type of nod you give someone when you haven't a clue what they just said but your sure that they're right. It seems like the wonders of the modern world are to far ahead for this dwarf!

With that, Henry leans forward in his chair and joins the the conversation.

"Miss Aivion is quite right! I, myself, use the Westmount. Simple, I know, but reliable! But, then again, Miss Aivion here would probably be a deadshot with just about any gun! You should have seen her! They brought me in to find a rather sneaky chap, and once I did, she gave him a good blast to the arm! And he was a fast bugger to! Oh! I know! How about you show us your skills!" he finishes, suddenly standing up. He turns to the wall of pinned insects and points to the top, "How about... That one!" he says indicating a small frame at the top with a beautiful set of emerald wings inside. It frame was at the very edge of where the candle light and shadow met, making it almost hidden.

"Come! Shoot the frame down! Now look at how she does this fellers, you could learn something!"

Sure enough, everyone, except Madam Zulu, seem to be quite interested!

Female Human

Meanwhile, with the Vixen, the doctor doesn't seem to be paying attention. She bent over near the tank staring intently a a tube of orange coral and muttering to herself. Her rat, Clairvol, is on her back watching the Vixen float with the grace of a mermaid.

Female Human

@ Fashionbug

Madam Zulu nods and then shrugs and the nods and then shrugs. She then leans over and whispers,

"I suppose. But its not your master, its that doctor woman! I've only been getting a bad feeling from her since the start! And its not just the fact that she is living with an unmarried man, dresses like a homeless woman, and has literal vermin crawling on her, no. Their is something not right about that woman... I can feel it, yes?"

Before Fashion bug can counter with her signature naive but wise way, she suddenly stops... Fashionbug realizes that she felt no aura from Dr. Amp. Not the neutral feeling of their personality, but absolutely nothing. As if, according to her fairy senses, Dr. Amp didn't even exist......

Female Fairy Lv.6 Ambassador

The fairy is hesitant, recalling the emptiness about Dr. Amp. Her reply to Madam Zulu is simply, "Come to think of it, I cannot feel anything from the Doctor. Which means your assessment is correct."

Fashion Bug considers whether Shivers might be as much a non-person as Dr. Amp... bit for now, she alerts her 'master'—or perhaps Miss Vixen prefers the term 'mistress?' Oh. Or perhaps not.—via their empathic link...

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen feels the fairy's distress. It's not a cry for help, but rather a concern for VV. I'm fine, sweetie, she assures the fairy. But Fashion Bug responds with a feeling that says not to take too long.

The Vixen does love her ability to swim... but she loves her little fairy friend. It's a strong word, and not a kind of love she'd ever known or now fully understand. The connection started when she was a fox, strengthened as she became a tiny person, and now VV doesn't even care if the fairy ever regains her human form. We're soulbound, she realizes, and it's a frightening thought.

If the fairy were to die, her little soul would go directly to VV's body, and the Vixen would create another. She isn't sure if this would be like childbirth or like casting a summoning spell. She hopes never to find out...

But, after getting that weird though out of her head, the Vixen considers the inverse: if she dies, will Fashion Bug immediately die with her? She hopes to find that out many decades from now.

For the moment, she knows it's time to come out of the tub.

The Vixen swims full speed and leaps from the water, landing on her webbed, taloned feet. She then says to Dr. Amp, "If yer scientific mind ain't easily offended, I'm gonna show ye how I dry off in a hurry."

Water is running down the Vixen's outfit, which appears to be entirely flesh—scaly body except for her mostly-human face and hair on her head.

But with a snap of her fingers, the scales morph into damp silk that extends under the mask, boots and gloves that were, a moment ago, covered in scales.

Another snap causes the silk outfit to become nothing but a towel wrapping her hair—then a wrist band worn over the left glove. The Vixen still has the gloves, and the mask and boots as well. Otherwise, she is naked—and not at all shy about it. She says to the doctor, "It's all in the wrist." With that, she stings the water from her wrist band.

Another snap reverts her outfit so the Vixen is fully clothed and fully human. Her hair is slightly damp, and she is completely dry... or so it seems until she walks, and a squelching sound is heard from within her boots.

"Aw, shit."

She decides to ignore it as she escorts Dr. Wendy back to the table...

Female Human

Dr. Amp looks up in surprise.
"Oh are we done already? I'm sorry, I get easily distracted...hmm..." she stops as she watches your different transformations and slowly nods to herself. "So... Your powers are not magical but they only work because of the magical power of your fairy?"

Clairvol makes a quite chittering sound and the doctor smiles and pats him on his head. Her eyes are glazed over again like they were when you first met her.

"How astute of you Clairvol. So your fairy, FashionBug is your power source, so to speak... is there a limit to the number of times you can use your powers? How many powers do you have? How did you learn that you had these powers? And does your fairy have an unlimited magic power source?" she asks these in rapid succession, an odd look on her face that suggests she's on a different planet, yet entirely focused and determined to know the answer.

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

"I can change this outfit as often as I can snap me fingers," VV replies, "but I won't be able to breathe water again until sunrise. The outfit itself has this power, not me fairy friend.

"As for what powers I get through her, I can lift o'er a ton, and if I use more of her power, I can run faster, or jump ten feet in the air, or triple me size... or I can become another humanoid creature or make meself even stronger. There's a limit to how often and how long me powers last.

"Would ye like to see one o' me favorite powers?"

If the doctor permits, VV makes a pose, says something in Sylvan, and climbs the walls effortlessly. She has no trouble crawling along the ceiling as well.

Female Human

The doctor watches and nods, mutters to herself and than shouts up to you,

"So not all of your powers come from your fairy slave? Just the more magical ones... I see..."

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen releases herself from the ceiling, landing at the doctor's side.

Bluff (conceal emotion): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15

Though she normally has quite the poker face, the Vixen only succeeds in feigning calmness. But her enthusiasm visibly faded the moment Amp referred to the fairy as a slave.

"I'll have ye know I love her dearly. She ain't me slave and I ain't her master. We're..."

Admittedly, while the Vixen would set the fairy free if that's what her little friend wanted, they give each other power, which means she and Fashion Bug are...

"...friends with benefits."

The Vixen seems quite satisfied with that phrase. She grins at Doctor Amp and says, "Shall we get back to the dining area? I believe we're to hear a speech from—"

—yer master, she wants to say.

"—Uncle Henry," she says, remembering her goal to be on the doc's good side, though I don't think she feels anything at all...

Female Human

The doctor raises an eyebrow at your reaction before replying,

"Ahh, yes. I forgot your country abolished that practice."

She then linked her arms with yours and began to lead you back.

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

As they walk back, the Vixen replies, "How can ye forget a thing like that? Unless... are you from a land where slavery's legal?"

Female Human

"Hmm? Oh, well, of course. You probably haven't heard of of it, but we are a small island nation west of here. We mostly produce new technologies so someone needs to work in the factories. Slavery is simply the most cost effective way. Of course we aren't monsters, we only use the lesser races."

She says so casually that you begin to feel sick. She's right of course, you've never heard of some sort of technologically advanced island nation before, and your not sure you can even to begin to imagine it...

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

Bluff (Poker Face): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

The Vixen manages to mask her expression as the doctor casually admits that people are treated as property, and some races are lesser than others.

And Uncle Henry lives in luxury on the backs of all this slave labor. What kind o' man has he become? Or was he always...?

Now it is even more crucial that the Vixen remain on Amp's good side. There are innocents in need...

VV says to Amp, "Ah, that might help explain why Fashion Bug ain't me slave. Her stature may be 'lesser,' but fairies're great.

"Anyway, do ye feel the experiment went well? I was hoping ye'd find me powers don't interfere with the environmental controls. I can't throw balls o' fire or nothing. Aside from altering me clothes, and to an extent, me body, me powers're wall-crawling and boots to me strength, speed or agility.

"I just wanna make sure I can do me part on the hunt. I'd rather test me powers on a great beast than use a gun."

Female Human

As you arrive at the hallway your rooms are located the doctor replies,

"Yes, the test will be considered a success. Any problems you could cause are inconsequential. The main thing I'll be studying tomorrow is how animals react when hunted, so any magic or technology is fine. I'm writing my next paper on if a animal changes its escape tactics when faced with magic or tech anyway."

Clairvol scampers down her shoulder and runs down the stairs ahead of you, and thunder and lighting rage outside.

Female Human Vigilante Brawler

The Vixen is relieved. Though she knows if she starts freeing slaves, the magic dampener will shut her spells down, she is free to use her powers until she makes such a move.

"That's wonderful news," the Vixen giddily replies. "C'mon, let's take our seats."

Instead of entering the door, she walks straight up a nearby wall. She then pauses, casually leaning a hand on the ceiling.

"Ah... the door's that way. Defying gravity can be rather disorienting."

Bluff (is she joking?): 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

It's really hard to tell if the Vixen is making an attempt at humor, or if walking walls and ceilings really comes with a peculiar challenge.

DC24 Sense Motive:
The Vixen's just messing around with her powers, and not out of disrespect. Though the Doc thinks nothing of enslaving people, the Vixen wonders what upbringing would make anyone think this is okay. Given Fashion Bug's feeling, she also suspects Amp is a slave and doesn't realize it. She will treat Wendy with kindness for the time being, and yes, even joke around. Party poopers arouse suspicion.
