Garrosh Saurfang |
Piotr and Garrosh start digging a shallow grave as Apep wonders out loud, "Ond pam na welais i mohono yn gynharach? Ers i mi edrych ar yr holl le hwn."
"Nad wyf yn gwybod..."
Seeing Piotr and Garrosh digging a hole, Apep offers to help, "Ydych chi eisiau help i gloddio tyllau?"
"Huh... Cadarn"
GM Mort |
"Rwy'n dda am gloddio tyllau!" Apep squeaks, as she gets to work with 6 of her clawed legs scrabbling at the earth, sending dirt showering over the entire party in range, except for Caraid.
Ilki quickly backs away to prevent more dirt being showered on him.
I'm good at digging holes!
Caraid |
Once a large hole had been created Caraid lifts the body carefully, keeping a wary eye on the unicorn. It takes some application of his strange powers but Caraid manages to lift the body rather than having to drag it across the sodden garden and staggers slowly across to the hole.
He lowers the body as carefully and slowly as he can, before scooping earth back over it, using both body and mind.
"Should I say something?" He asks quietly.
Piotr Tataru |
"Yes" Ann answers quietly.
GM Mort |
As soon as the body is buried, the spectral unicorn vanishes into nothingness with a relieved sigh.
Apep looks around puzzled, "Nawr i ble aeth y creadur hwnnw."
Now where did the creature go?
"Was that Brin's spirit or something that you put to rest?" Ilki asks the party.
Garrosh Saurfang |
"Rwy'n dda am gloddio tyllau!" Apep squeaks, as she gets to work with 6 of her clawed legs scrabbling at the earth, sending dirt showering over the entire party in range, except for Caraid.
"Da iawn fy ffrind"
Well... If at any point we want to risk digging through rubble walls... :D
"Should I say something?" He asks quietly.
Garrosh steps forward and puts a hand on Caraid's shoulder - "Well done" - then turns to the burial site - "May you rest in peace Brin - it is our sorrow not having been able to fight to defend you, but it will be our honor fighting to avenge you" - he speaks calmly - "There is no more pain, regret or suffering. Only peace. Farewell"
As soon as the body is buried, the spectral unicorn vanishes into nothingness with a relieved sigh.
Apep looks around puzzled, "Nawr i ble aeth y creadur hwnnw."
"Was that Brin's spirit or something that you put to rest?" Ilki asks the party.
"Rwy'n credu bod hynny'n amlygiad o ysbryd Brin ... Neu o rywbeth arall yn ei amddiffyn. Mae'n ymddangos ein bod wedi gwneud y peth iawn, ac felly mae wedi gadael mewn heddwch"
"I believe so" - Garrosh adds to Ilki - "A manifestation of his spirit, or of an entity protecting him. It seems to have been appeased"
Ok, I suggest we go check the doors to the North of the courtyard now?
GM Mort |
You hear the buzzing of wings but don't see anything in the yellow mist.
"OK, the last thing I want is an angry ghost after us, though Brin's spirit should go after his murderers, not us."Ilki replies.
"Hmm. Nid wyf yn credu bod gennym lawer ar wirodydd. Neu o leiaf rydyn ni'n credu ein bod ni'n cael ein hadennill gan y dŵr pan rydyn ni'n marw, fel rhan o gylch bywyd." Apep answers solemnly.
Hmm. I don't think we have much on spirits. Or at least we believe we are reclaimed by the water when we die, as part of the circle of life.
GM Mort |
E3
Sizable cracks split the surface of the south wall, allowing the smoke of several small cooking fires to escape. Several doors exit the room, but two at the south end of the room have been blocked by a waist-high heap of debris.
There are 4 people in yellow robes, two of them are involved in food preparation while the other two eye the party suspiciously with make shift clubs in their hands, "So what are you doing here?"
Kilarra Dimir |
"Just clearing out the rooms of monsters." Kilarra answers. "Just dealt with some ghouls and nightmarish unicorn thing."
GM Mort |
One of the people involved in food preparation asks the party hesitantly, "Do you happen to...know where more dill could be found? We're running out of it here...and other supplies as well"
Piotr Tataru |
Piotr scratches her chin, "Dill? No, not really sure what that is, but I guess No."
Garrosh Saurfang |
"And what are you doing here?" - Garrosh asks back.
Sense Motive (will use it on whatever answer :P): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
GM Mort |
"Dill is a herb," She answers Piotr. "Thin, almost stick like leaves, used for flavoring mostly fish, its slightly lemony but works on pork and potatoes as well."
"Cooking. But if the food doesn't satisfy them... It might not bode too well for us." The yellow robe points to her companion, a note of apprehension in her voice.
Garrosh thinks that the woman is telling the truth and is clearly worried about the state of things.
Garrosh Saurfang |
Sorry Mort, when the woman says 'them' is it clearly evident she means those with clubs, or some others? :P
Piotr Tataru |
"Are you prisoners?" Piotr asks with a firm voice, his eyes moving to the ones with clubs.
GM Mort |
"Look, we're just making sure that production goes on as normal. We're not doing anything else." One of the yellow robes wielding clubs rolls his eyes at Piotr. "You've seen for yourselves, there are man eating monsters in the courtyard. Sometimes they make an attempt to get through the barricade. We make sure that doesn't happen."
"Yes,"The other yellow robe who is chopping potatoes answers, "I don't want to be out there after seeing what attacked the barricade. They had bloodstained teeth and claws. They're monsters!"
"Wait a minute, isn't that dark haired girl with you a little transparent?" The second yellow robe wielding a club asks Piotr, giving Ann a suspicious look.
Garrosh Saurfang |
"Look, we're just making sure that production goes on as normal. We're not doing anything else." One of the yellow robes wielding clubs rolls his eyes at Piotr. "You've seen for yourselves, there are man eating monsters in the courtyard. Sometimes they make an attempt to get through the barricade. We make sure that doesn't happen."
"There are no more man eating monsters in the courtyard" - Garrosh nods - "That has been resolved. But you were going to give them cooked food?"
GM Mort |
"Thank god for that," The yellow robe chopping potatoes says, relieved. "We'd all sleep better knowing they aren't going to be attacking the barricade when we fall asleep."
"Well yes, I don't think anyone eats potatoes raw."The yellow robed woman answers.
"Certainly not me," One of the club wielding yellow robes answers.
Kilarra Dimir |
"Exactly. Boil them. Mash them. Stickem ina stew." Kilarra says.
"Right well we're headed out. Come on, everyone."
Kilarra suggests going through the door to the West of E4, and make our way all the way back 'home' to drop off the rescued.
GM Mort |
Won't work, B12 is blocked by rubble. You'd need to to go through E1 and retrace your steps.
Kilarra remembers the collapsed southern passage at B12 and realizes there's no way back to Winter's encampment that way.
Kilarra Dimir |
Kilarra suggests going through the door to the East of E4, and make our way all the way back 'home' to drop off the rescued.
Piotr Tataru |
Ann pipes in "There was a door up to the north a bit that we never went through." she suggests as well "might be a good idea to check it before travelling through the yellow robed ones again"
GM Mort |
"It does lead outside. But if we could go around the building, we'd be able to make it to the docks, if I don't remember wrongly."Ilki answers.
Piotr Tataru |
"I'll go look really quick" Ann goes intangible and pokes her head out of the door, to see if the fog has receded enough to make any headway.
GM Mort |
Poking her head through the door Ann sees a quivering pile of tumorous flesh with eyes and something vaguely resembling a human face, headed in her direction, within the now thinning yellow mist. It seems to be followed by another similarly shaped creature.
Piotr Tataru |
Ann pulls her head in quickly and then reports back "No, we CANNOT go that way. There was something, a quivering pile of tumorous flesh with... EYES... moving around. And it wasn't alone." Piotr moves to put his arm around his sister for comfort but it goes through her, making them both uncomfortable.
"So back to the camp then?" Piotr pushes forward.
So how do we make it there? Someone had a nightmare about going through the yellow robed camp with our other dimensional friend if I remember correctly.
Kilarra Dimir |
Shove the dimensional friend into a backpack.
Garrosh Saurfang |
Don't know why but I was under the impression Apep was Medium sized :D
Perhaps we can take a second look at B12, and the possibility to tunnel through?
Piotr Tataru |
Really!?! I was confused as well. Still couldn't fit in a pack though...
Piotr Tataru |
Nope not fitting in a pack, back to B12 then
GM Mort |
"So you mean the outside has a whole bunch of fleshy horrors?" Ilki's face falls on hearing Ann's report. "How are we going to get out of this hell hole then?" Ilki wails desparingly.
The party starts heading back to where they found the collapsed rubble. B12
Caraid knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
"So what are we going to do with these pile of rocks? " Ilki asks."It doesn't look passable."
"Beyond would be the staff office and Chapel, and the entrance to the asylum is close by, not that it'll do us any good if the whole place is infested with fleshy men-eating fiends."Ilki adds.
Kilarra Dimir |
"How about we put the dimensional thing into one of the crates we found? Like the one that had the other planar thing that mysteriously escaped."
Piotr Tataru |
"The scary puppy thing? Worth a try I guess. Worst case they swarm and kill us all." Piotr doesn't sound optimistic.
Garrosh Saurfang |
"So you mean the outside has a whole bunch of fleshy horrors?" Ilki's face falls on hearing Ann's report. "How are we going to get out of this hell hole then?" Ilki wails desparingly.
...
"So what are we going to do with these pile of rocks? " Ilki asks."It doesn't look passable."
"We remain calm, and take things one step at a time" - Garrosh growls at the man - "Like we have done so far"
Mort, what is the result of Caraid's roll? :D
If we find it impossible to dig through:
"Apep, bydd angen i chi guddio mewn blwch am ychydig. I'ch cadw'n ddiogel. A wnewch chi hynny?" - Garrosh speaks to Apep.
"Apep, we will need you to hide in a box for a while. To keep you safe. Will you do that?"
Caraid |
"I can't get through that." Caraid says, waving at the rocks. "If I take the wrong one the whole thing will come down..."
Guessing, since it was a bad roll! :)
GM Mort |
Caraid's knowledge engineering roll is too low to give information. Does the party intend to dig?
GM Mort |
"Uhhh OK, you're crating that thing up," Ilki points at Apep questioningly.
"Oeddech chi am i mi gloddio twll trwyddo yma?" Apep chirps at Garrosh.
Did you want me to dig a hole through here?
Garrosh Saurfang |
"Uhhh OK, you're crating that thing up," Ilki points at Apep questioningly.
"It has a name - Apep. Use it" - Garrosh replies, then turns to Apep.
"Hoffwn ... Ond mae'n well nid Apep - mae arnaf ofn y bydd yr holl beth yn dadfeilio arnoch chi. Mae'n rhy fentrus" - Garrosh replies.
Kilarra Dimir |
Kilarra walks over to the crates (E8) and tries to get a sense of if they can stuff an Apep in one.
Piotr Tataru |
Piotr will keep an eye out for yellow robed people and Ann will go with Kilarra to look out for the cute puppy.
GM Mort |
"It? Its a thing with too many legs! What does it need so many legs for?" Ilki shudders. "It's like those dem spiders..."
"Iawn os ydych chi'n meddwl hynny." Apep answers.
Okie, if you think so.
Kilarra thinks Apep could be crated, but neither she nor Piotr see any sign of that cute lil puppy.
Garrosh Saurfang |
"It is a living being you idiot - and it has done nothing against us" - Garrosh seems to be losing his patience - "Now be silent please" - then he turns to Apep again.
"A wnewch chi guddio yn y blwch am ychydig? Efallai y bydd eraill yn ofni amdanoch chi, gan nad ydyn nhw'n eich adnabod chi."
GM Mort |
Ilki does shut up as Garrosh growls at him.
"Iawn, ond mae pob un ohonoch chi'n edrych yn rhyfedd i mi a does gen i ddim ofn. Pam maen nhw'n fy nychryn i?" Apep chirps back. Nonetheless, she does get into the box.
Okie, but all of you look strange to me and I'm not frightened. Why are they afraid of me?
Piotr Tataru |
Piotr offers "I'll carry Apep. Keep you bow free in case things go bad in there." then he'll crouch and let the crate rest on his back.
Ann adds "More than likely we'll need a lie about what is in there. Greedy minds with lots of weapons will be curious. Remains of a friend, covered in puss and boils so they do want to see?" Ann of course will pop back in Piotr's head when they are ready to go (since glowing like a ghost seems to spook people).
Caraid |
"I'll carry." Caraid offers. "I don't fight with my hands much."
He doesn't take no for an answer and insists on taking the crate from Piotr. He doesn't find it as easy Piotr did, but continues none-the-less.
GM Mort |
Caraid manages to carry the crate with Apep in it, though he has to brace the crate with both hands and its quite tiring.
The party heads back the way they came from, through the abandoned kitchen, back into the main hall.
E1
Wildly burning braziers stand amid yellow tents and scrap structures. Two stairs to the east climb to the floor above. Around the stairs nearly a dozen bodies hang crucified upon the walls, dried crimson streaks below them, sacks cinched around their heads. Tendrils of yellow mist creep throughout the entire space, wisps endlessly lapping and fondling the bizarre environment. One of the yellow robes challenges the party, "I see you have a new face down there, does he swear to Ulver Zandalus and the King in Yellow?"
Another one adds, "What's in the crate? More supplies for the cause?"
Behind them, at the back of the room, Wren is trying to signal the party to him.
