Hi, everyone! When you are selected to play this scenario, please provide your chronicle information here. Make sure to include your player name, character name, PFS number, character number, faction, and any Day Job rolls. Please also tell me anything unusual about your character I should know about.

Grand Lodge

Nagaji Barb 1/Sum 2, HP:30 of 30, AC:17, Touch:12, Flat Footed:15 F:+4, R:+2, W:+4, Init:+2, Perc:+4

Player: Mark M
Character: Thresh (but everyone calls him Voices)
Faction: Grand Lodge
Char Num: 30504-8
Day Job: none (he's too stupid for a day job)
Class/Level: Barb 1 / Summ 2

Big hulking Nagaji. However, sometimes he thinks he's a small sneaky goblin.
Has an Agathion eidolon built for diplomacy and a cat familiar. However, PFS rules only allow one or the other to act in play at a time.
If the party needs a scout he has out the cat familiar and the the cat tells him what to do most of the time. The cat is kinda mean (like all cats), so he tends to behave a little bit more mean since he is listening to the cat.
If the party needs a face, he has out the eidolon and the eidolon tells him what to do most of the time. The eidolon is an Agathion (good aligned), so he tends to behave in a much nicer manner since he is listening to the Agathion.

Typically, neither participates in combat. The cat will hide or he will dismiss the eidolon. Can summon creatures and pound on things with his great big shiny metal club (earthbreaker).

Player Name: Big Joe
Character Name: Valtyra Braga
PFS Number: 20941-16
Faction: Dark Archive
Day Job: N/A

Valtyra has a tendency to be just a bit aloof believing her magical talent and keen intellect place her a step above most of humanity.

Grand Lodge

Male Human M Human Ranger(Guide)3/Fighter 1 [HP 35/44, AC 20/22 /ff 16/18 /t 14, Fort +8, Ref +8, Will +1, Init +4, Per +8, Spd 30'

Player Name: Ebon Fist
Character Name: Djorn
PFS Number: 143948-2
Faction: Grand Lodge
Day Job: Profession (Trapper): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Class/Levels: Ranger 3/Fighter 1

Djorn is a thrower and skirmisher with quickdraw, javelins and darts, and a spiked quickdraw light steel shield with a breakaway shield boss(which is very hard to fit into the spaces on a character sheet.) He keeps at range as much as possible but switches to close combat quickly. The breakaway shield boss lets him put an alchemical item in his shield and it affects the first target he hits. He uses the Guide Archetype so he has Ranger focus which gives him a +2 to hit and damage against 1 opponent each day.

And, either before the adventure begins are during the purchasing part of the adventure I'd like to add the Bashing magical enhancement to his shield.

Player Andrew Watson
Character Talea Gallonica
Number 44523 - 38
Faction Exchange
Class Oracle 5
Day job Craft weapons: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

Talea does have the misfortune revelation. To save on time unless I specify using it in my own post I reserve it for the following:

1. An enemy critical threat roll
2. An ally rolling a natural 1 on a fortitude or will save

I may also use it on lower save rolls depending on the nature of the threat or possibly on critical confirmations but I will try and specify that in a post.

Grand Lodge

Nagaji Barb 1/Sum 2, HP:30 of 30, AC:17, Touch:12, Flat Footed:15 F:+4, R:+2, W:+4, Init:+2, Perc:+4

Talea, looks like you are built to be a face character. Talea, if you don't want to do the talking, I can have Angel do it. But you look like you've built to handle it. So I will happily let you fill that role if you wish. Angel has slightly higher diplomacy and sense motive, but only speaks common and nagaji so far.

So I would assume we want the cat to help out with scouting. His perception isn't super great (+5), but his stealth is amazing (+28). However, Djorn, you have a decent stealth score and an a bit better perception. If you are planning to be a scout, that is fine. The cat will just tag along so I have an idea what is happening ahead.

Are we just a 4 person group? I'm ok with that, but I thought there were 6 picked.

I'm not arrogant enough to believe I'm sneakier than a cat. He can definitely do the scouting and I'll do the watching.

Sek and his familair have +17 perception.

Familairs stealth is only +11 but it has a 60ft fly speed so it can get away easily.

Generally it will be very hard for someone to notice us before we notice them.

@Voices in my head which companion creature is joining you on this adventure?

Grand Lodge

Zeldana, you're the 2nd person I've played with who has an owlbear companion. I'm seriously jealous.

Grand Lodge

Nagaji Barb 1/Sum 2, HP:30 of 30, AC:17, Touch:12, Flat Footed:15 F:+4, R:+2, W:+4, Init:+2, Perc:+4

I absolutely love "Winnie the Hoot" as an owlbear name! I really wish I had thought of that one. I would have made the character just to be able to use it.

Sek Bodkin wrote:

I believe Devil, the cat familiar, is the one I will take. He can scout indoors or at night. Until I get Improved Familiar, he can't open doors, so he isn't the perfect scout even though very stealthy. Your bird can take high cover outdoors or during the day.

Hah Sek, that's like 10 quivers of arrows. You're ready to take on an army! I haven't played a dedicated archer yet.

GM Redalia, would you prefer a separate avatar for the pet to make clear what it is doing? Or would you rather keep it in Voices avatar to keep things simple?
Up to you some GM's prefer one or the other.

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online), Hostess of Cottonseed Lodge (playtest)

It really depends on what the pet is doing. Cute little familiars who just hang out, being cute, provide static bonuses and maybe make perception checks I'm OK either way. If the pet/companion is attacking, I prefer they have their own alias and their attacks are there.

For anyone who has to choose between several creatures for the adventure, I'm fine with you waiting until after the mission briefing to decide which one.

One more GM preference I want to make sure you guys are aware of: please don't hide dice rolls behind spoilers, unless they are a conditional actions. As an example of how I like to see things:

Joe smacks at the zombie with his club.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 2

AoO if the zombie moves away:

attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 1

Neither of them are for combat. being the nice talky face or the sneaky scout. But not combat. I summon creatures, have a few spells, and smack with my earth breaker for combat.

Angel has
+14 diplomacy
+6 intimidate
+2 linguistics
So if I bring her, she can do any of those.

If I bring Devil, he can't do any of those.
Voices has a 16 charisma and is willing to try anything, but it will be untrained.

Grand Lodge

Nagaji Barb 1/Sum 2, HP:30 of 30, AC:17, Touch:12, Flat Footed:15 F:+4, R:+2, W:+4, Init:+2, Perc:+4

Voices isn't smart enough to figure anything out. But it sounds like PD is being 'run' by someone else due to his debts. If he gets in power someone else will control the PF organization here and that will eventually hurt the reputation of all Pathfinders everywhere.

Not sure I like his opposition, but it seems the lesser of two evils.

Unless we can eliminate the controlling of PD by whomever it is.

That's my understanding.

I'm just wondering if I CAN sneak past her (GM question.)

And if I SHOULD try to sneak past her (party question.)

Either that or we take the direct approach with diplomacy and straight out ask her to show us around. I'm thinking these civilized goblins might just be regular goblin goons with cultural adaptation spell cast on them to throw us off...

Venture Lieutenant, Play by Post (online), Hostess of Cottonseed Lodge (playtest)

Due to the room layout, sneaking past Lobda would be extremely difficult.

To make sure things are cleared up, you are at the potion shop and lodge of Phlegos Dulm, trying to get access to his financial books to find records of his wrongdoing.

Lobda is an apparently friendly and civilized goblin who you found appearing to 'mind the store' in the potion shop part, but she has now told you she is an apprentice learning to keep the books.

I am just hoping that is makes a difference for both genders. I have the unfortunate luck of having seen both male and female breast cancer effect my family.

Grand Lodge

Sorry to hear that. We always hope. Male breast cancer is a particular challenge many groups think about it and try to research it but like all rare cancers access to research materials (tissue and cells) can be very difficult. As techniques become more sensitive we can do more with less material which means hopefully more research into the rarer forms of cancer.

I want to apologize to all of you. I am not GMing this game well enough to meet my expectations for myself. (There's some back stage stuff taking up a lot of my time and energy right now.) All I can do is tell you I'll do my best to do better for the rest of the scenario.

Sometimes it doesn't matter how well you try to convey the module's info: either the module was too ambitious in terms of expecting the players would understand or the knucklehead players just won't get it regardless of details provided.

In those case, the great purifying sentence "roll for initiative" will solve most logjams! :)

No, not a gameday game.

I usually assume a scenario will take about 8 weeks if everyone posts regularly, but I'm afraid I've been a little slow due to end of gameday and planning for RetroCon. Also, this one is a little slow in PbP because of the odd mechanics of helping out at the party.

Thanks for letting me do that, Redelia. It's a cool ability that I hardly ever get to use because usually the fight starts as soon as the animal sees me.
