GM Coyote |
Spent a whole day pushing, pulling, hefting, disassembling, and reassembling a third of the store. I’m totally wiped, so I’ll update tomorrow.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Just noticed that we started tresting it as if we were all speaking the same language, but in actuality Sounbyte is still doing all the translation happening here. Bravo or anyone else should not actually be able to understand him when conversing with the natives.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Hmmm, no no, I think you're right. My bad on that.
GM Coyote |
Heh. Feel free to add some if you want.
GM Coyote |
Long, tiring day at work. I’ll update tomorrow morning.
S.E.T. |
I may just starting "taking 10" habitually at this rate.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
*shrug* I t was what I was listening to at the time. Good tunes though.
GM Coyote |
Hey folks, in an effort to combat the mental funk I’ve been in lately I’m going backpacking in the Olympic peninsula this week. As such, I won’t be able to post between the 7th and the 10th.
I will, however, be spending two nights camped at the foot of Mount Olympus at the awesomely named Olympus Guard Station.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Could I take the muttering and play it back at a more recognizable speed?
GM Coyote |
I’d allow it with a computers check.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Is that something I could do untrained?
GM Coyote |
Don't think so, no.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Then there's not really anything I could donhere either it seems
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Was 20 not enough to figure anyting specific about this type of undead?
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Erhm- Well, I certainly tried.
GM Coyote |
I’ve gotta say, that is one of the best role-played low diplomacy rolls I’ve ever seen. Made me chuckle for a few minutes straight.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Need to figure out something to do for combat encounters, at least at the start of this game where I have so few spell slots. Maybe spec into close range combat? I don't have terrible strength, and I heavy armor proficiency right now too.
S.E.T. |
Hey all. Got some not so great health news which knocked the wind out of my sails. Aiming to have an update up tomorrow morning.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Something you wanna keep private, S.E.T.? Whatever it is, even if not great news I'm hoping you'll be able to manage in the end.
S.E.T. |
Ah, no, it's fine, just don't want to turn into that old man who tells everyone about the shape of his bowel movements (seriously, my grandfather did that once).
Had a Covid-scare with my in-laws starting Friday but they got the results back they were negative, then I had my first physical since turning 40 (which was # years ago), and my BP readings were consistently coming back as full blown hypertension and the doctor was clearly surprised/concerned. I've also gained the "Covid 15" so I'm clinically "obese", and a few other things. All told, it resulted in a conversation of "if you want to be around when your son graduates from high school, you've got to change your habits." Which, since my father died when I was a senior in high school, really hit me in the gut.
Bonar "Bravo" Vizetelly |
Ooh. That IS rough. My aunt had a COVID-scare last week too. She tested positive, and since she's been severely disabled since birth, we almost lost her. She's recovering fast, though, so that's a relief. Solidarity, my friend!
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Well now I feel silly for thinking it was a cyborg.
GM Coyote |
Heh. I was just waiting for the moment you tried to channel positive energy on it, only for it do nothing.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
I suddenly wonder what a SRO's ghost would look like, as they possess souls capable of post-mortem regret just as any organic.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Would it be metagame if me to toss a perception roll as well?
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
*snicker* Just how the cookie crumbles sometimes, eh?
S.E.T. |
Sorry for delayed posting on my part. We're on vacation this week and though we're renting cabins that promised wifi, it's been rather spotty.
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
While effecticely immortal, that is also made with thr assumption they regularly maintain themselves. 'Age' can refer to part degradation of many forma, or data fragmentation. It may be to them, a particular potent 'rust' spell. That's my thought.
S.E.T. |
Maybe I’m missing it but RAW, I’d say they’re just as vulnerable:
Robotic
SROs are immune to bleed, disease, death effects, poison, nonlethal damage, and sleep effects unless those effects specify they affect constructs. SROs can be affected by effects or spells that normally target only humanoids, but receive a +4 racial bonus to saving throws against such effects. SROs can eat and drink, though they don’t need to, and they must recharge their internal batteries by entering an off-line mode that is similar to sleep for 8 hours every day. SROs do not breathe or suffer the normal environmental effects of being in a vacuum.
Unless it’s a death effect (in which case they’re just immune), there’s nothing there about immunity to aging. I haven’t dug through Starfinder on references to aging, and I honestly don’t remember in Pathfinder, but I know in 3.5 I had a PrC that specifically got immunity to aging, so at least some designers are aware of it.
Which is to say, I’d be fine being vulnerable to the full effect, but I certainly won’t refuse partial or full immunity (‘cause I’m greedy like that).
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Does Mystic Cure actually affect undead in this setting like it did in Pathfinder?
S.E.T. |
All, we’re going at a comfortable pace so I don’t expect it will be an issue, but I have been having a lot of fatigue and body aches lately, so I got tested for Covid and it came back positive. Seriously not worried about myself, but if I’m a little slow in updating, that’s why (exhaustion).
GM Coyote |
Jeez, best wishes and I hope it’s a speedy recovery. Take the time you need, and I totally understand if things slow down on your end.
Bonar "Bravo" Vizetelly |
Yikes, get well soon! My aunt tested positive a month or two ago and given her already fragile health (she's developmentally disabled and just turned 50) it almost killed her!
Soundbyte of Sunlight |
Wait, did my attack just plain not affect it? If their attacks would've taken it out on their own, I would've saved that spell for later instead.
GM Coyote |
Fair enough. You also would've known that undead are immune to mind-affecting effects, which mind thrust is.
S.E.T. |
LOL. I clearly read too fast, as I first read that as "none of the attacks really do any good until Soundbyte looks at it and... poof." I was going to have Set stare at his knife in confusion.
