Harec will operate whichever gun can target the river rat laser cannon: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 1 + 2 + 2 = 19dmg: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 FYI I think the combat tracking and starship combat is a GM call, it really depends on how th GM interprets the word ‘see’, if sensors and computers of the mechanic’s ship allow him to ‘see’ the enemy.. there there’s a case to be made for using combat tracking of your exocortex ‘ think of R2D2 helping Luke. The reason is, combat tracking temporarily raises the mechanic’s BAB. I’ve put the wording behind the spoiler; for now I’ve left combat tracking off. For balance issues I really don’t see an issue; it’s throwing a weak class a bone if it’s allowed.

As long as that target is in sight, the exocortex feeds you telemetry, vulnerabilities, and combat tactics, allowing you to make attacks against that target as if your base attack bonus from your mechanic levels were equal to your mechanic level

Harec, I did a bit of research and came across this, "Class features and items affect crew actions only if specifically noted in the class feature or item." So it would seem that it would not apply for starship combat.

Zac quickly divert power to the shields, negating the pittance of damage the River Rat did earlier. That seems to be the extent of the Starfinders' luck, though. Majko gets disorientated hopping back and forth the different controls, and ends up sending an audio recording of Strawberry Machine Cake's latest single to River Rat instead. Sharmain attempts a clever maneuver to distract their pilot as the Loreseeker flies by but jams up the joystick and ends up just flying straight past. The opportunistic River Rat gunner quickly opens fire, weakening the Loreseeker's aft shields. Omzig quickly tries to return fire, but for some reason, seems to be shooting asteroids instead. Only Harec, this time with proper guidance by the captain, fires the port laser cannon unerringly, punching through the ysokis' starboard shields into its hull. The River Rat gunner swivels around after the Starfinders and with threats hanging over his head from Mr Smiles (who is not smiling anymore), follows up with another blast of rounds into the Loreseeker's port shields, depleting it completely!

Zac continues to divert power to the weakened shields, while Majko turns offensive, planting a bug into their power core system. Meanwhile, Sharmain pulls a full tight Gs to bring the Loreseeker safely parked behind a cluster of asteroids.

Apologies to everyone for the delay, yesterday did not go as planned.

Sharmain hears the captain's suggestion but knows she does not have the skill to perform a barrel roll through asteroids. Instead, she takes the ship through some evasive maneuvers to place it far enough away with an orientation that the River Rat should not be able to take a shot at their aft. She can only hope the smugglers are confident enough to come into range of Lore Seeker's guns as she does not wish to deprive Omzig and Harec the pleasure of a clear shot.

"Wait for it gunners, let's see if we can't lure this rat into range."

Round 6

With a few taps on the display, Zac restores shields fully back to the port and almost bring the aft shields fully online. While Majko continues hacking into the River Rat's power core, Sharmain speeds away from the asteroids to draw the ysokis after that, turning at the last minute to keep the still somewhat vulnerable aft side away. She did not seem to have heard the captain at all.

Sure enough, the River Rat gives chase now that the Loreseeker has emerged from the asteroids, coming right up close! Both groups of gunner fire! The River Rat's coilgun rounds smash into the starboard shields, depleting them without taking them down. But the Starfinders' shots not only take down the front shields, the rounds gouges into the hull, triggering the bug that Majko had laid. You see a minor explosion in the power core, taking out the patch and causing it to malfunction!

Rewriting history somewhat as despite posting order, I'll still resolve actions in engineering-helm-gunnery phase order.

Zac restores power back to starboard shields, trusting Sharmain to keep the River Rat off their aft. Majo continues hacking away into the River Rat's power core system, trying to push it even further. The controls become somewhat sluggish but she gets through nonetheless. Sharmain does a risky flight right by the River Rat. Special Circumstance, seeing the pilot's intent, guides Omzig to seize the opportunity to fire onto one of its depleted side. But the controls overload with the Omzig's sudden activation and blows up, filling the cabin with blue smoke. Nonetheless, Sharmain brings the craft towards an asteroid, keeping it's more vulnerable aft protected. Harec trains the starboard gun as the ysoki ship comes round that side, but the blue smoke sends him coughing just as he fires the lasers, sending the shot way off.

The River Rat, keeping its aft towards the Loreseeker just in case, fires back and its coilgun rounds punch through the recently restored starboard shields, finally clipping its hull.

Flyby allows one of the gunners to pick any arc to target, but both gunners miss this round...

Sharmain immediately realises her mistake, by trying to protect her ship she has left them all vulnerable in this close range, nose to nose, positioning. Now she must either tough it out or try another close flyby and hope the gunners manage to disable the River Rat this time. Well, it worked last time from a piloting perspective and hopefully, practice will help her improve. Another prayer goes out to Desna and Sharmain reaches out to the energy of the stars...

Zac displays his masterful controls of the engineering systems, bringing the starboard shields partially back. Majko focuses her attention on bringing down the badly damaged power core, while Sharmain deftly dives under the River Rat. However, nothing the captain says is able to bring to two gunners back to focus as instead of aiming, they are struggling with whatever system gremlins have popped up.

The River Rat, despite its ailing power core, doesn't seem to have such a problem as their coilguns smashes through the Loreseeker's port shields, chipping away again at the hull.
