@Makon: Your actions sound good, and you did live to see Round 3.

Round 1.3 Final
Bot - Andy - The hafling begins to sing a tune you've heard before "My friends and I have come to fight, evil creatures we will smite. Your reign of terror soon will pass, once we have finished kicking your....butts." ;) While hoppping his way across the rubble, all to the same beat. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Meanwhile, a crash behind you sings the song of a broken door, and with the rushing wave of Pathfinders a few arrows and slung stones hit the demon and demonlings, leaving them bruised and battered.

To his suprise, Makon's fateful swing, bolstered by the bard's (hippity-hop) performance, manages to put down the more muscular demon. The demonlings drop their crossbows to pull a short sword each, they move around Kwan's flanks and somehow, almost stab each other instead.

Round 2 UPDATE
Blue Tiefling - Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 81d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (1) = 3
Yellow Tiefling - Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 1 + (1) = 3

Reassessing the battlefield, Cabe sees Kwan flanked by enemies and does some flanking of his own, doing his best to tumble through the debris and avoid his enemy's blade, then, channeling more power into his sword, lashes out at the tiefling.

I will attempt to use Acrobatics to avoid the AoO, though I'm guessing it's going to be tough in difficult terrain (or impossible? I'm not sure on the rules there). Then swift action to spend another Arcane Point (I'm actually running low! I can't believe it) to make the dueling sword a +1 dueling sword and one attack.

@Andy: I've been reading that has happened to some people recently, but now we're all here, don't sweat it.

Drelluandast's glob of acid misses its target, while Andy hastily heals Makon, Cabe stumbles as he swings his blade and misses. But Kwan makes short work of both Tieflings.

After allowing Makon to catch his breath, the group presses on the advantage gained along the rest of the Pathfinders. They pour through the broken gate into a sanctum teeming with fiends. In two towers that flank the large room, lesser demons furiously work levers and cranks to load ballistae of Abyssal steel and demon sinew to fire wicked bolts upon the charging Pathfinders. Atop a tall platform stands a demon much larger than any other, a glowing symbol on her chest, is chanting and weaving dark energies to open what looks like an extradimensional portal.

The demon on the platform has a glowing symbol on her chest.

Kn. Arcana, Kn. Planes or Linguistics DC 15:
You realize that the runes signify the demon’s obedience to an entity called Koth’Vaul.

Having realized that Absalom’s forces have penetrated the siege tower’s defenses, she has started a summoning ritual, hoping to bring more glabrezus to the Material Plane to thwart the assault.

Kn. Planes DC 12:
You identifie that the portal—if allowed to open fully—would not merely allow more demons to enter; it would also flood a large swath of the Cairnlands with unholy energy that could kill large numbers of Absalom’s defenders.

A veteran stops next to you, only long enough to let you know that approaching the platform could prove deadly, but she points you at the towers overlooking the area, they have siege engines that you can commandeer from the demons or you could try to disrupt the ongoing portal.

Vote time, first two votes in the same direction decide the outcome: Ballistae or Ritual?

@Makon: How many rounds until you are combat material again? Rage can be a bummer when in a hurry You were in Rage 2 Rounds, so 4 Fatigued, right?.

Sorry I hadn't updated his HP..As far as I know Makon is at 11hp (out of 19) and is fatigued for 2 more rounds. (that's assuming we immediately got instructions from the veteran after killing the Teiflings) If we have two more rounds I'll have Andy hit me with my wand of cure lt a couple of times and be fully rested and fully healed but alas still not able to Rage the remainder of the day.

After the battle while the Pathfinder Veteran is issuing instructions...Makon puts away his potion of cure moderate wounds and takes out his wand of cure lt wounds once again.

Grand Lodge

Sorry for the delay mates. To clear things up, I was asking for Makon's fatigued rounds to know how long you waited before entering the fray again, so between the last fight and the moment you are about to disrupt the ritual, 3 rounds went by. That's 3 rounds to heal/prepare/get un-fatigued in total, and for buff tick counts =)

On a different note, I'll be reusing the Cambion token, but it won't represent a Cambion, instead it should fit the following description.

Over at the northeastern alcove, a tiefling wearing a black matted armor with Baphomet's symbol on it is conducting a part of the ritual with two flunkies.

Initiative:
Kwan: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Andy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Cabe: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Drelluandast: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Makon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Tieflings: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

The cultists take the fight to you when you start going around the platform, the lackeys fire their crossbows, one bolt buzzes past Makon's ear, then the armored one moves ahead of them.

Cabe will spend the 2nd round drawing and casting a scroll of shield. He will draw his weapon on the third round and prepare to leap into the fray by positioning himself to have a straight line to one of the enemies so he can charge.

After empowering himself with more magic, Cabe waits for the others to be ready. Once they are, he steps to the side and nods at the northernmost (yellow) tiefling. "I'll take that one," he says.

Once battle begins, he charges in and sweeps across the chest of the enemy with his empowered dueling sword.

+1 Dueling Sword: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 17

@Andy: You only need to spend the first two charges, Makon only had 11 Damage left on him.

Actually Makon had '11 hp' (Andy had already healed him for 8 and he recovered 3hp via fast healing) therefore he'll only need one charge off the wand (I've already taken it off my wand Andy) Also Makon will be unable to do an AoO this round as he is holding a 2 handed weapon in his off hand and a wand in his primary hand.
Makon thanks Andy for healing him and tells the little halfling, keep my wand until we're through with the fighting, please if anyone of our allies are hurt do not hesitate to use the magic within the wand. When Makon sees the tiefling and his two cronies his lips curl back in disgust, More vermin to kill... Makon switches his great axe to his left hand balancing the weapon by grasping the middle of the haft. He approaches his adversaries with a menacing glare. But then! does something completely surprising he lifts his free right hand and there's a wand in it?! He utters a command word and gouts of flame tumble over the tieflings two minions. Makon just laughs hysterically at the shock on his enemies faces as the magic fire rushes over them.
(Makon is using a charge off his wand of burning hands CL3; DC:11 for 1/2 dmg) wand burning hands dmg: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 2) = 5

Grand Lodge

@Makon: That's correct, somehow I got the numbers mixed up, only ONE charge for the remaining 8 damage was spent.

The enemy closest to the flame should've been more afffected by it, but Makon can't see a single smoke streak coming from the tieflings after his blast, not a single singed mustache.

"That bird was not meant to defeat you," Kwan states as he begins to move. "It was meant to distract you."

Kwan moves up to strike the armored tiefling with a Stunning Fist.
The battlefield as laid out was confusing. The bird was still on the field and adjacent to the armored tiefling, who (probably?) shouldn't have been able to hit it with a polearm. I've moved Kwan to its position and moved it off to the side.

Acrobatics vs Opportunity: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Attack vs Armored Tiefling (Stunning Fist): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Stunning Fist damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

Paizo Reroll on Stunning Fist attack roll: 1d20 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 4 = 17 - if that connects, Fort Save DC 14 vs Stun

Inspire Courage(Su): A 1st level bard can use his performance to inspire courage in his allies (including himself), bolstering them against fear and improving their combat abilities. To be affected, an ally must be able to perceive the bard’s performance. An affected ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls.

Andy then draws his rapier and moves forward.

I didn't notice earlier that Andy was singing. So +1 attack & damage to Kwan's attack I guess. I'm also just realizing that I forgot to drink Kwan's Heroism potion, but that's my fault.

Grand Lodge

@Kwan: Yes, the battlefield was confusing, I think my changes got either rolled back or didn't go through. But to avoid further confusion, since Armored would've struck the eagle even with the penalty, let's keep it as is, well... except for the following.
Blue AoO vs Makon: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Armored Stun Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Makon's strike bounces off the tiefling's black scale mail, somehow his axe ends up deflecting Blue's sword. Cabe seizes the opportunity and pierces the tiefling all the way through, and Kwan lands a blow on the armored tiefling, leaving him groggy and unarmed.

A barrage of blows flies around Baphomet's antipaladin, the few that overcome her armor are enough to sap the life away from her eyes.

After the Pathfinders defeat their foes performing the ritual, they still need to work together to weaken or even usurp the ritual.

This is a process that takes 3 rounds of concentration by at least four PCs, after which ONE of the participants can attempt a DC 15 Knowledge (planes or religion) or a DC 18 Disable Device, Spellcraft, or Use Magic Device check.

Another group of agents is keeping enemies at bay while you work on the ritual.

Basically this is me, letting you the time passed. And asking that you let me know who'll roll the main check. Once you figure out who'll do it, go ahead and roll it.

ok Makon has spell craft so I can assist a check with that, I guess that makes the 4 who run the ritual as: Makon, Drell, Andy, and Caeb ...
Drell’s knowledge planes and spell craft are both +7 so if the rest of us three can ‘aid another ‘ on the spellcraft check probably better to do that. If not it’s best drell just rolls a strait knowledge planes as the DC is lower .

I'm still finalizing a few things on my character since this will be the first time I've played them at level 2, but I'll be done soon. What day are we starting again?

October 1st, I believe.

Okay, evidently we're supposed to do the pre-muster missions NOW, so I've sent PMs to the two who haven't checked in, and I'll be posting momentarily IC to get us rolling. Link is at the top of the page, we are in part 1. While I will normally go Rule of 3 (Since 3 is half our party, as soon as 3 people say "let's do this", I'm going with it), for the intro I'm going with "Rule of whoever posted first". These intro missions are only up until the 1st, they don't require massive amounts of RP (but a few lines are nice), and especially in your subtier the rewards can be the difference between a good, fun scenario and a horrible, gruesome death.

Now I am not a killer GM. I have I think 2-3 deaths to my name in over 60 tables, but most deaths are avoidable and I like to put out that efficient use of resources is a concept that is especially important in a special such as this. Now this doesn't mean "don't use your resources" because that can be just as bad as using them all too early. Keep in mind that this has several parts, there will be several combats, and you will need different things at different times.

That having been said, enjoy! I wouldn't have offered to run this slot if there wasn't fun to be had.

I'll get busy applying the chronicle this weekend. I'll most likely want to sell a couple items and use my remaining coin to pick up a cloak of resistance before we get started. I'll jump in on game-play thread soon.

It looks like we're doing Chains next. Should we work up a schedule of what people want to do in order so we don't have to re-discuss between each session? If anyone has preferences, let us know.

I don't really care which we do in what order, so I'll open with a bid of just going top-to-bottom after Chains is done.

After this one we're going Cypher. You may discuss what's after that should you choose to.

The only concern I had about going in order is that puzzles can be difficult, and Sundays tend to be the busiest internet days, so we would have a better chance of everyone chipping in.

Otherwise, let's just "Get her done."

I will say that the variance in the scenarios is iffy at best. "Do A, then fight" tends to be what happens. You're just voting on what "A" is. I will say Dark Archive currently has the most completions, if it's done by the time we get there, we obviously wont' go there. :P

BTW Makon has a great intimidate (+8) if we find out which group is most subject to intimidate. I will roll intimidate beneath a spoiler; with some accompanying dialogue. If I understand correctly we are all invited to make either sense motive or knowledge checks to identify which group is vulnerable to variable means of negotiation? (bluff, diplomacy, and intimidate?)

If this is correct we should all be making sense motive checks or the appropriate knowledge checks (which-ever we have the higher bonus in I suppose) As for the intimidate check Makon will wait for guidance (either from his own intuition or the groups suggestion) He will then step forward and proceed to loom an intimidate whichever group we believe to be most vulnerable to that form of negotiation. (please note: if we are unable to determine which group is most vulnerable to the intimidate tactic. I wish the GM just to roll a random die and Makon will step forward and try his tactic against the random group. In either case the: the die roll beneath the spoiler will stand.)

Also although we can only have one person roll per group. There's no reason we shouldn't attempt an aid-anthers . Therefore, I'll request on this thread that, Caebricalius Melandrus attempt to ,aid my intimidate check (probably beneath a spoiler is best) and that the remainders also aid some of the other rolls (diplomacy and or bluff).

This is also true.

Ok amending my last statement a bit
Caebricalius Melandrus should do the bluff check ( looks like he has a +6?) although Andy Applebottom has a +8 in bluff he also has a +8 in diplomacy making him the best choice for both those rolls. If only one person can make one roll per noble house then Caebricalius Melandrus has the next highest bonus ..therefore he should take the bluff roll with Andy Applebottom aiding him. (while Andy takes the diplomacy roll)

The only thing left to do is figure out which family needs which roll.
It looks like Kwan Zinshen has ranks in Knowledge history (is it +6 to your check?) and again Andy Applebottom has all the knowldge skills at his disposal. therefore Makon will wait to make his intimidate check until bidden to by one of these two gentlemen.

*edit* just noticed Andy Applebottom can make both the diplomacy and bluff checks...(but if he does both no one else can) Since Andy has a +8 instead of Caebricalius +6 it would be better to have Andy make the primary roll and Caebricalius aid Andy's bluff roll.

Ok first of all we need to wait until we get the results back from the sense motive checks from the GM...Then we can make an informed checks on which roll is best for which noble family.

My gut instinct is: just to cross out or (if you catch this before the hr editing time has expired) edit out the last portion (all the diplomacy checks) and just roll for a bluff check and diplomacy check after the GM gives us the sense motive information.

If you read the game-play thread the GM did mention certain checks are better for certain families...for instance Makon did an intimidate check for one of the families. (i just don't know which one because the GM hasn't revealed the results of the sense motive checks yet) Therefore you only need to make 2 checks One bluff and one Diplomacy...all your sense motive checks stand.

Sense motive checks are done. Results were already posted.

One check from each of the five categories must be made. Each person may attempt only one check or aid from each category.

Yes. I've been ignoring it since I don't think Kwan has much to add, but we should definitely move it along if we haven't yet.

We should boost and send it if you're not using it soon. If you want to do so now, I'll send it elsewhere. Or you can add that after this combat, but good call.

To boost allied offensive? That's legit. Adding +2d8 or more to attack damage and granting flank? Yep.

I say we boost the aid token and pass it along.. is my understanding we get to use the aid token before we pass it along? Or do we just boost it? If we get to use it; I'll use it on the first turn. The following roll is my attack roll to 'boost the token' boost attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26dmg: 1d12 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

Make the attack roll then, Makon. You can do it here at +6, if you fail we'll have someone else try.
