A long passageway extends past multiple prison cells before ending within a barred chamber to the east. An alcove along the south wall includes another set of iron doors leading south, while opposite this a barred gate provides access to another set to the north.
A pair of tormented souls guards the hall. Each appears as a horribly mangled human paladin with limbs broken in multiple places, and they reach out to suck the life from you.
Spectres are evil undead that hate sunlight and living things. Most are the remnants of murdered or evil humans, their anger preventing them from entering the afterlife. Like ghosts, spectres haunt the places of their deaths, and seek to draw others into the lonely abyss of undeath.
A spectre looks much as it did in life and can be easily recognized by those who knew the individual or have seen the individual’s face in paintings or drawings. Spectres retain a strong sense of identity, and even ancient, insane spectres generally remain coherent. Evil historians and necromancers often try to ally with spectres for the knowledge they held in life and retain in undeath.
Sometimes the forces of the worldwound create these undead using prisoners to guard areas. They are incorporeal creatures and resistant but not immune to channeling.

Two large prison cells flank this large interrogation chamber. The entryway to each cell is lined with multiple layers of arcane sigils scribed into the floor, lintels, and even the barred door. While the symbols around the western cell door glow with red light, those to the east do not and its prison door hangs open.
The walls of the cell to the east has been decorated withs hundreds upon hundreds of butterfly images, scratched into the stone by something sharp. A short prayer has been scratched into the wall.

A vampire can elect to create a vampire spawn instead of a full-fledged vampire when she uses her create spawn ability on a humanoid creature only. This decision must be made as a free action whenever a vampire slays an appropriate creature by using blood drain or energy drain.
Vampire spawn are not as resilient as true vampires but are still resistant to elecricity and the cold. Silver can overcome their supernatural resilience

Seeing Frederic obliterate the vampire spawn, Kaeldron was left standing there awkwardly, instantly regretting his decision to put his spear anywhere near the man’s oversized blade.

Kaeldron was caught with indecision as to where to go. Support Lady Claire or Sir Frederic? At the last moment he decided that Sir Davok would be able to reach Claire without issue, so he moved in to support the raging Paladin.
As his target is destroyed Frederic turns towards Claires to finish it off.

On and on they moved, pushing into the lair of the enemy without stopping, without rest. They risked over extending by facing a foe that was on par with them. But it also meant continuously catching their enemies off guard. And this was such an example, with Kaeldron charging a demon, his spear striking with the force of a lance at full tilt.
