The creature was as good as dead. It was profane and they were righteous. The gods willed it, and thus it would be so. Filled with single minded Fervor, Kaeldron plunged his spear into it’s chest. Claire’s magic seemed to push the spear in deeper, guiding it towards the chimera’s heart.


All three heads cry out in gutteral, primal pain before the whole creature slumps to the ground it ferocity and lifeblood now spent...

Kaeldron ripped his spear out. The blood of the chimera covered it, and his shield. He raised it up to the light of the sun and yelled out in victory. As he did so, the blood began to sizzle, and it soon evaporated. The shield now shone as if though it were polished silver, with all of the old scars of battle gone. The shield was now truly blessed.

Three armies still defend the keep. One of dretches, one of tieflings and one of mortal cultists. The cultists has no ranged attacks but the others do. First ye need to choose your tactics and can then roll your ranged phase attacks after choosing your targets.

As per Kaeldron's suggestion, Claire's army will attack the dretches first. She'll use the expert flankers tactics, and use her mythic commanders ability to increase the DV of her army by a surge die (rolling twice and keeping the best).

Kaeldron led his army of crusaders into the breach first. With shields raised they charged through the enemy’s ranged weaponry.

”Men of the crusade! This is it. This is where we retake what was taken from us. This is where we rain vengeance upon those who inflicted so much suffering upon you. Now is the time! Strike! Strike before they can man the defenses. With me!” Raising his shield, Sir Kaeldron led from the front.

Triage in Ranged Phase if they take damage: Whether using magic, alchemy, herbalism, or folk knowledge, the commander drills the army in using emergency methods to treat wounds. Once per battle, the army may take a –4 penalty on its Offense check during the Ranged or Melee phase and heal damage equal to half its ACR. If the army has the healing potions resource, it also gains the healing from this boon (without the Offense check penalty) when it uses healing potions.

While certainly not Paladins, the crusaders were still trained warriors. Morale was high and the need was great. Charging with their general, they hit like a battering ram. Which was good, as they were assaulting a fortress.

Fredric marches near Claire, though before the battle lines crash together, he does swap words with Alistair, almost cheerfully.

"Cayden must show you favour, Alistair! May you slay many with that mouth of yours!"


Claire leads her forces into the fray, softening them up with a volley of arrows before finishing them off up close. The tieflings are held up by Kaeldron's forces, though they aren't imbued with divine fury they hack down several of the demon blooded cultists.

Crusaders attack with mythic: 1d20 + 3 + 1d6 ⇒ (20) + 3 + (6) = 29

Kaeldron led from the front, driving deep into the enemy. The crusaders surged with him, hacking into the cultists. ”Are you going to let the Paladins take all the glory?! With me! Break them!” His voice temporarily rose over the din of battle. Just as he predicted, in the chaos of battle, keeping the army organized was an impossible task. And that was why he had ensured the army had lieutenants, sergeants and squad leaders. There was a clear chain of command that everyone knew. And it was paying off as they fought the tieflings.

The battle was going well, so far. He trusted that Claire’s army would soon deal with the cultists.

As usual, Claire shouts all kinds of absurd accusatory pronouncements at the enemy from the front lines, offering mercy and scoldings while her army of paladins tears into the cultists.

As the fight rages on Kaeldron leads his army to victory over the mortal cultists though not without a loss of life. Claire finds the tieflings are using their spell like abilities to great advantage but still they hold their ground.

Now for once the armies of the Crusade outnumber the servants of the Abyss...

The army of the crusaders exerted themselves for one more great push. Kaeldron remained in the front, charging over dead cultists to smash into the tieflings who were locked in combat with the Paladins. With numbers on their side, each man knew that everything relied on them exerting themselves.

I didn't realize I got another ranged attack, sorry. When do I get one? Not every turn, right? Rolling both ranged and melee just in case.

Seeing that Frederic was still injured, Kaeldron let loose a wave of healing energy. Both for his friend, but also for the wounded Paladins and Crusaders from the battle.

The wounded were rotated in, as the Paladin prayed. The most serious injuries came first, followed by the less severe ones as the prayer went on. Finally he was finished, when all of those harmed were made whole.

Kaeldron raised his shield, and gritted his teeth as the flames washed over it. The inferno would have been enough to obliterate a regiment of crusaders. He pushed through the fire and pain, only to charge at the demons.

Kaeldron raised his shield, and gritted his teeth as the flames washed over it. The inferno would have been enough to obliterate a regiment of crusaders. He pushed through the fire and pain, only to charge at the demons.

The demon swings it's sword and stomps it's hoof vainly against Kaeldron's armour. Snarling it steps back into the building so as not to be hit by Sariel's arrows too easily.

Claire's going to use her contingent channel energy ability to expend a use of mythic power and channel energy to make a contingency: When Claire or any of her companions reach 0 or fewer hp, it will automatically channel energy. The contingency lasts for 2 days or until triggered.

Reflex would halve the first fireball damage and I think SR would negate the second entirely. So 15 damage then healed 13 for 94/104 hp

Fredric ends up little worse off than before. Not that he minds with demons slain!
