|- Joliryn -|
I've updated Joliryn to 1.4 rules. If you're curious as to the changes:
- Two of her ancestry abilities are now heritage feats, which means she can only have one of them, and she had to pick a new ancestry feat.
- She no longer has the unburdened ability.
- Her hardy ability is now a heritage feat called strong hearted dwarf (which she still has but is no different than before)
- Her replacement ancestry feat is Rock Runner. When taking a Step she can ignore difficult terrain cause by earth and stone.
I will try to update Mazok to 1.4 tomorrow. Doing all my posting and character editing on phone/tablet - not ideal, to say the least.
Same - I'll get Fezzik updated and ready to continue by this evening. Hard to keep up with the rapid pace of updates!
So sorry for the delay everyone. My wife and kid got back from their trip Friday and I have been in reconnect mode. Then I had to take baby to Urgent care today.
All good, just been a bit crazy. I will get all my games updated tomorrow, hopefully.
Thank you all for understanding.
So.. coming clean all.
I have had some serious difficutly getting to this game. My main reasons are:
1. The playtest is always changing, and it becomes hard to track.
2. I don't have all the rules in my head.
3. I have to open up 3 pdfs to do anything (Rulebook, Doomsday dawn, and Beastiary).
4. Its the bottom of my game queue, and I tend to stop posting before I get to that point.
On that note, I really do like the 2nd edition, but I am coming to realize that I am just having difficulty keeping this game going. This could be the fact that it is level 1.. Or because of whatever other reason.
I am thinking after this small level 1 game, I am going to want to stop DMing this game. I really am excited for the full rules to come out, and I will likely DM a full P2E game when the rules are finalized. But going into the other test modules, sounds really difficult for me now.
I also don't want to leave you all hanging. So I want to talk to all of you and see what you think of a few options.
1. I LOVE starfinder. I wouldn't mind switching to a Starfinder game with you all as players.
2. I have (nearly) every module and AP for Pathfinder. I can easily do one of those with you guys.
3. I would be down for doing a Paizo AP/Module. Or even making my own, which I have not done in awhile. But might be easier in this format. Giving me plenty of time to think things through.
What are all your thoughts? I can tell you are all enjoying the game, and you are all great about posting (I am 100% the thing slowing this game down), and I don't think its fair to keep you all hanging.
So what do you all want?
edit: A second thought I just had. I think part of the issue is not being able to RP with these modules. They are not really designed for that. But doing a module/AP/Custom game will give so much more chances to RP. Didn't realize how important that is. Especially in PbP games.
First, thanks for being so open. That's always nice to see in a PbP GM.
I can certainly understand having a hard time getting into the playtest, particularly in PbP. The lack of roleplay in Doomsday Dawn is definitely a disadvantage for this format.
I'd be happy to keep playing in a non-PF2 game if everyone else is up for that. I would somewhat prefer Pathfinder to Starfinder, but honestly either one would be fine. I haven't played too many APs, so I'm fairly open on that front.

Thanks for being honest, Nex!
To return your candor: with the holidays coming I probably should cut down on the games I'm playing. Although I'd love to jump in on whatever you guys decide, I will have to pass.
Thanks for a great game! I've had a blast.
See you around the boards everyone!
Nex: I totally understand. I'm running a playtest game myself on another forum (with a converted module, even!) and it has been hell monitoring the moving target that is the ruleset right now. I'd be more than happy to jump on a game you run when the 2nd edition releases, but I'm currently of a mind with Joliryn that I'll take a pass right now, given my time commitments and time of year.
I do very much want to get around to Starfinder, but can't commit to anything more right now. Thanks!!
I definitely appreciate the candor as well. I have had a difficult time staying on top of the rules changes just as a player, so I can only imagine the additional difficulty as a GM.
As far as a future game, I would absolutely love to, but my own time commitments at this point were made under the assumption that this specific game would not be long-term. It's a shame, because I do like how you GM and I appreciate this group! But I will have to pass for practical reasons at this time. (After the holiday season, I expect that will change, however.)
Thank you again for all the work you put in, and for offering to run it in the first place!
Thank you all for your understanding.
I totally understand the busyness that is the second half of November and December.
Would you all be up for revisiting a game in January? I can set a notice to message all of you when things settle down.
Again thank you all for understanding. PbP games can fall apart, but I hope his was not a massive disappointment for everyone. I would be happy to revisit this group next year.
Everyone have a great last few weeks of the year.
I'd be up for a game in January.
I can assure you that this game has not at all been a disappointment. I've greatly enjoyed it, and I entirely understand your reasons for not continuing through the rest of Doomsday Dawn.
I will just plan on pinging everyone in january.
We can decide then what we want to play. I can offer options and we can vote on it.
Any not filled slots we can open to recruitment.
Till then, have a great end of the year, Thank you everyone for playing. Hopefully life will make more sense in a few months :)
Hey all. Not sure if you are checking in here at all anymore.
I was thinking of starting up another Starfinder PbP game. Thinking of doing the Against the Aeon Throne AP from Paizo. I wanted to offer it to you all first.
Anyone interested? I am thinking of posting recruitment sometime in the next week or so.
