Cloudia |
"Sure thing, Aurus!"
Cloudia slaps a nice grease spell on Mao after finishing her summon monster spell.
Celestial eagle with smite.

It's not evil... (like last time). It's also immune to flanking, but the eagle hits anyway.
The eagle doesn't seem to do much as the wounds it causes almost immediately heal.
Cloudia |
OK. I remember you saying that crits would not work and I guess that applies to flanks too. Hey, at least it got in one teensie blow!
Cloudia |
Like Lukian, Cloudia will start to lob acid at the thing.

to hit bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
damage bite: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
*ack* more bad rolls.
Mao Asaka |
"Thanks for the aid. This thing sure is a tough one."
Mao gives the remaining blob a series of kicks and punches.
Flurry: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Encouraged by the awkward eagles success, Cloudia tries to splash it again.

"Maybe I should stick to magic missiles."
Aurus Goldson |
"Why does it keep growing bigger??," Aurus yells, mostly in the direction of the eagle.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 27
Damage: 1d10 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 3 = 16
Aw man, we're sure they're immune to crits? ;)
Cloudia |
I think we need some acid to land or it will go badly.
Lukian |
The little gnome takes a 5' step back, and tries to splash acid at the creature again
1d20 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 - 4 = 12
1d3 ⇒ 2
Mao Asaka |
"I need healing. I don't think I'll hold on much longer."
He then turns to the blob. "But I'll be taking you down before I do."

Argh. Good damage rolls from bad attack rolls.

Cloudia misses, the eagle hits twice, but with little effect, Aurus hits and Lukian hits as well. Mao however misses twice!
The blob is still "standing"! It attacks Aurus
To Hit: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 2 = 26 Hits for Damage: 1d6 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 2 = 10

The other blobs veins pulse as it animates again and moves forward and attacks Lukian
To Hit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Misses!
Cloudia |
Hey, I don't have to do a LOT of damage with acid to stop them from regenerating!
Cloudia gets an idea and pulls out an acid flask and targets the square the blob is in instead of the blob itself, splashing both of them.
To Hit square ranged touch, bless, long range, cover: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 - 6 = 18
Even if she misses, there is the splash.

[dice=To Hit square ranged touch, bless, long range, cover]1d20+3+1-6
Even if she misses, there is the splash.
Long range modifiers seem a bit much, as the blobs are both really close! I assume you 5 foot step back before you throw? Also is your eagle still around?
Lukian |
Using the pearl that they found, the pearl helps him to remember the words to the acid spell that he had used against the robot and he chants them, words of power erupt from his mouth and an arrow of acid emerges from his little outspread fingers.
1d20 + 1 + 4 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 1 + 4 - 4 = 17

Regaining a spell with a pearl is a standard action by itself, but luckily Lukian already used it earlier to regain a scorching ray when trying to identify the pearls properties.I assume you’ll use that instead
additional damage: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
Lukian steps back and blasts the ooze that attacked him. It drops to the ground (again)
GM Auke |
botting mao
To Hit: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14 for Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
To Hit: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 1 = 16 for Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Mao hits twice and drops the bigger ooze
With both oozes down and their regeneration paused for a round, you can apply acid splashes and bludeoning damage until there’s nothing left to regenerate.
Combat is over

Also is your eagle still around? Now that roll20 is working for me I'll have Cloudia step back. Unfortunately the range increment is only 10' and she needs to be more than that away to avoid the AoO, so she gets a -2 for range. Still, it is only a 5 AC to hit a square and even if she misses she splashes at least one of them so all should be good.
Note: At the time she threw, the little guy was back further.
The eagle gets three rounds of attacks, no more, and poofs away at the beginning of her round.
Aurus Goldson |
Aurus slumps against the wall, breathing heavily, as the last blob goes down. He pulls out the wand and taps himself.
Wand, 2 charges: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (5, 6) + 2 = 13
"Alright, Mao, you too. Anyone else take a hit?"
Mao, roll whatever you need to get back up to full, just let me know how many charges you use.
GM Auke |

Yeah, too bad, cause the eagle actually made things worse: every piercing/slashing hit regenerated 5 and every 5 piercing/slashing hits the thing grows in size, gaining HP and attack bonusses.
Mao Asaka |
Healing: 4d8 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 6) = 19
I think that should do it. If it's too much I can go with 3 charges.
Many thanks to you, Aurus. I feel better now.
Cloudia |
You know, I have always had abysmal luck with summoned creatures and this does not surprise me in the least. I question my sanity for ever picking the Celestial bloodline. It is my hope that there is karma out there somewhere in the dice god pool and one day my summoned critters will actually kick butt.
Lukian |
Splash, splash, spalash goes the acid
acid spalsh, splash, spalsh he sings as he splashes acid on the oozes.
Lukian |
What is the matter, Mao, you don't look too well. You look pallid and pale he says as he taps Mao on the knees to check his reflexes/
Mao Asaka |
"I'm not really sure, Lukian. The healing from Aurus was refreshing, but I think I might have gotten something from the ooze." The monk obviously feels weakened. "Let's go find the person we're supposed to find with haste."
Cloudia |
heal: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Cloudia, who has her own reasons for wanting to get this affair over with, and who keeps glancing over at Aurus to make sure he is OK, chimes in with a "Yes. Let's hurry! I'm thinking we take the stairs, unless you want to examine the room over there." She indicates the door in the southwest corner f the new room.
GM Auke |
You make your way up the stairs, open the door and look through.
A mosaic of the night sky and winter constellations covers the domed ceiling of this circular chamber. Rich embellishments fill the walls, and a plush carpet covers the floor. Heavy antique furniture has been overturned or broken, much of it incorporated into a series of sparking devices.
A robot similar to the one you fought at the entrance and a humanoid who seems to be a combination of man and machine are the only two other creatures in the room.
"ሆልድ ትሄም ኦፍፍ፣ ሶ እ ጫን ፊኒሽ ትሄ ትራንስምትተር" The man-machine says to the robot.
Cloudia |
With a welcoming smile, Cloudia attempts a more diplomatic approach.
"Wow, that's a new look! You Pendleton?"

Seeing that their enemies are being mean, the little gnome pulls out from his pocket some sparkly clay and begins to chant. he then blows the clay as it begins to sparkly even more.
The wizard will cast glitterdust on the baddies, angling so that they are in the blast and the party is not.
dc 15 will
A cloud of golden particles covers everyone and everything in the area, causing creatures to become blinded and visibly outlining invisible things for the duration of the spell. All within the area are covered by the dust, which cannot be removed and continues to sparkle until it fades. Each round at the end of their turn blinded creatures may attempt new saving throws to end the blindness effect.
Any creature covered by the dust takes a -40 penalty on Stealth checks.
