Aurus Goldson
|
"Aw, ha, ha, very funny," mutters Aurus darkly, stung at her quick and arguably better retort. "I'm sure the watch is gonna sit down and have a nice archaeological philosophy debate with you." He takes the arrows from Cloudia, offers any to anyone else who may want an arrow for stabbing, then stalks to the north doors with Cloudia.
Cloudia

Not interested in an arrow. Interested in the wand of remove disease. Ready to move through doors.
Mao Asaka

Mao gives the wand to Cloudia and asks for 2 arrows from Aurus. "These truly might come in handy later on."
| GM Auke |
Not interested in an arrow. Interested in the wand of remove disease. Ready to move through doors.
Aurus opens the doors to the room, which appears to be a dedicated workspace to repair and restore the museum’s many age-worn wonders.
Exhibits—from paintings to skeletons to taxidermy monsters—sit around, waiting to being cleaned, examined, or reassembled.
Cloudia
|
Knowing how things like to animate in this place, Cloudia moves to the edge of the door and gives the room a quick detect magic scan, though she figures this time it will be contructs, not undead.
"Nobody in there that I can see. Just a bunch of odds and ends. Any of you want to take a look more closely?"
Aurus Goldson
|
Aurus grunts. "If there's nothing in there visible, let's head upstairs."
He'd rather take the stairs to the west, checking the unchecked doors as they go.
| GM Auke |

He'd rather take the stairs to the west, checking the unchecked doors as they go.
The first door reveals a room with 3 wooden doors. Aurus opens the first one of the doors and sees a horizontal wooden board with a hole in it.
Cloudia
|
"Hmmm. Looks like the board for a tossing game we play at parties. All the same, I wouldn't go sticking my hand in the hole if I were you."
With an appalling lack of curiosity, Cloudia continues, "Shall we move on?"
Aurus Goldson
|
"Jeeze, guys, you ain't never seen one of them fancy loos before? Luk, don't stick your head down there, by gods."
Aurus will give a cursory glance into the other two doors, assuming that he'll find just stalls, before checking the next door. If the adjacent door is also for restrooms, he'll check the final door before rounding everyone up to go up the stairs.

Yes, all stalls. Except for the final door, which is locked and has a sign 'Basement'
Aurus Goldson
|
Aurus considers the door for a moment, greatsword in hand.
Is exploring the basement in the scope of this adventure, or should Aurus take his Two-Handed Adamantine Lockpick upstairs?
Cloudia
|
There are a couple of areas to the east we have not poked our noses into yet. But I'm ready to head up.
Aurus Goldson
|
Aurus looks at the locked door. "Alright, no one went downstairs unless they had a key and took the time to lock it behind them, so calling this floor... mostly clear. Let's head upstairs."
| GM Auke |
You arrive on the second floor and quickly determine that the nearest rooms are just offices, more lavatories and a lecture hall. None of them seem disturbed. You quickly make your way to the salon.
Warm colors and skillful paintings of scenes and landscapes lend an inviting charm to this salon. A few small tables and chairs have been up-ended and scattered around the floor. Double-doors to the north are labeled “Hall of Incantation,” while open passageways lead east and west.
Cloudia
|
Cloudia pokes her head disinterestedly into the offices, wishing they had the time to enjoy the exhibits and read the text on the placards, rather than a bunch of dumb offices. She distractedly follows along behind Aurus, just managing to keep up.
Before opening the next door, she will cast bless on the group from her wand.

Any knowledge roll apply? I figure her bless did not go off yet as we did not open the next door. Sooo...
Cloudia uses her wand to cast bless now.
"Where did they come from? I thought we were facing Nemerian things. Are these Numerian alien plants or something?"

Knowledge nature might give you some clues, but indeed alien in origin.
| GM Auke |
Know nature 1d20+9
Although alien in origin Lukian is able to determine this plant is related to Golarion's weedwhips.
They have reach, but they can't take attacks of opportunity.
They're poisonous.
And they smell badly!

The things would probably LIKE a color spray.
Cloudia sings the word 'ding' and a sharp mote of energy swoops towards the blue plant striking it violently.

I'm assuming you are using your wand? (else it would be 2 missiles)
Cloudia's missile strikes true and deals max damage!

Correct. She does not know Magic Missile.

Mao carefully steps towards the blue plant-like creature and does a jab and roundhouse kick combo.

Cloudia steps up beside Mao and pats him on the back.
"I got this." I think.
Then pulls out her wand of burning hands and scorches the thing
BH damage: 3d4 ⇒ (2, 2, 4) = 8
After which she tosses the empty stick aside.

Aurus spins around, the flurry of action too much for him to meaningfully react to until Mao has already dispatched one of the plants. He charges the other vine with a yell.

Oh, noticed this post after Aurus' action already killed it. If you really want you can throw away your last charge on this, but I wouldn't mind if you kept that last burning hands for the really tough swarm encounter later on... ;-)

Mao notices a secret compartment in one of the display stands, which contains a pearl and a feather.
Lukian uses detect magic to determine they are both magical
knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
knowledge arcana: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Pearl is strong aura, Feather is strong aura. Too strong to determine the type.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11
Identification also fails, due to the high casterlevels.
Both Pearls of Power and Feather tokens have insane caster levels, mainly to the fact it's always linked to the most powerful type. As the party has seen similar items before, I'm going to rule that with trial and error you discover it's a Pearl of Power Level 2! and a Feather token Whip!
