No, unfortunately that’s not possible

Thanks. I want sure but this is good to know

The captain does remain standing.

Cloudia just drops her spear and climbs up another level to the deck, wand in her teeth.

Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 20

Assuming that takes a move action she will still have the opportunity to plink the captain.

Did you realize that without reattaching the grappling hook from the bow deck to the top deck climbing the waterlogged slippery sides of the ship is at least a DC20 check? I'll be nice and put enough barnacles on the side it will be considered adequate handholds/footholds so it is actually DC 20. They will cut you a bit though!

Cloudia uses the barnicles on the side of the ship to climb up to the top deck, cutting herself in the process.

Barnacles: 1d6 ⇒ 3

There she sees the captain and Aurus in melee. She shoots a magic missile and manages to kill the dead man walking!

HURRAY! SUCCES!

With the captain gone, the ship slowly begins to sink!

Sorry, Cloudia just stole your kill, you have to make due with the Lacedons (assuming you don't mind getting an AoO from the lacedon).

Aurus rushes down to swing at a lacedon, but it makes a final desparate attack.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

And the Aurus cuts off its head.

Botting Mao

Flurry: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 1 = 11
Flurry: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14 Hits due to the inspire!

damage: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7 Kills the last lacedon.

The two remaining zombies are no match for you and you safely exit the sinking ship with your hippocampi.

Now I have to give you the choice:

Like the one option you prefer:

You can either:

Go to the next (higher) tier ship and kill that captain.

OOC: This would be suicide, don't do this.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Go to the city and defend Petal District and defend the walls against the demon-flesh horde.

I opt for not suicide! Yaaay!

Aurus has his wand out as soon as the party gets onto the hippocampi. "'Join the Society,' they said. 'Way safer than the city guard,' they said. 'How often do you hear about a Pathfinder Society agent taking a gutter-rat's knife to the belly,' they said. Never mentioned no "front lines in a hellish assault on the city..." He pauses for a second. "Hell, I guess the guards are probably pretty busy right now too, though, huh?"

Lukian wrote:

Go to the temple and pay a cleric 510 gold (or 4PP bad deal, use your own gold) to have him cast a restoration spell on you.

Or wait 24 hours and make a fortide save. if you fail you'll need a 1410 gp restauration (or 4PP average deal)

Personally I'd pay the 510 gold now

Hooray!

You all heal up and do some emergency shopping and continue towards the petal district.

Almost as soon as you arrive a brass horn sounds a warning signal in the distance. A moment later, a Captain of the First Guard shouts for her force to ready for impact—a command that guards relay up and down the wall. A dark swarm of thousands of strangely misshapen creatures charges, throwing themselves against the stone walls and clambering over each other to reach the top. Despite many volleys of arrows raining down and boiling oil poured on them, the stubborn fiend-flesh creatures press on. In multiple places along the ramparts, soldiers of the First Guard have to draw their swords and engage the creatures in melee. Here and there, groups of nightmarish creatures spill through the line of defense.

You are stationed next to a portion of the wall and over it are clambering some very strange creatures!

Hungry Flesh (Large Ooze)
A quivering pile of tumorous flesh, this creature leaves a trail of slime as it hungrily searches for sustenance.

What you need to know:

  • It can grab.
  • Whenever a hungry flesh takes piercing or slashing damage, it regenerates and can grow bigger.
  • It has regeneration, but acid or fire temporary stops this ability.

Slimey Humanoid
This slimy, shifting mass has the shape of a humanoid, but is made out of what appears to be some form of sticky rope or cloth.

Botting Lukian

I noticed having all the PCs in a block really speeds up the combat, so I'll just do a default action to make this happen ASAP.

Lukian shoots a magic missile from his level 1 wand at one of the slimey humanoids (Red)

damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

The slimey humanoids run through the air and try to slam into Mao and Aurus.

(At the end of their moves they are 5 foot high)

vs Aurus
Purple: 1d20 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 26

Damage Aurus: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Damage Mao: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

As the creatures slam into the frontlines they leave behind a strange greenish goo.

Willsave
Aurus: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Mao: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Both men aren't shaken by being covered in ectoplasmic goo.

The hungry flesh drops itself to the ground and moves towards the party, leaving behind a slimy trail.

The big fleshy blob does not react to the heavenly fire, (so it’s neither good or evil)

Mao hits the creature twice, but his blungeoning blows seem harmless to it as all of the impact damage is reduced to zero.

Mao just isn't cutting it.

Botting Aurus

Aurus swings his sword at slimy creature that critted him

To Hit: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 Hits for damage: 2d6 + 7 ⇒ (2, 5) + 7 = 14

Cloudia will probably have noticed that hitting things isn't a problem in this combat.

Botting Lukian
