Starting with the bodies:
Most of the bodies lie pierced with tiny needles and shards of ice. All of the bodies, with the exception of the captain have been stripped of armor and weapons.

The temperatures inside the winter pocket are considered cold (approximately 30° F during the day, and 10° F at night). Every hour spent in the wintry conditions requires a Fortitude save (DC 15, +1 per previous check) to avoid taking 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. Those who have taken nonlethal damage from exposure suffer from hypothermia (treat as fatigued), and if this condition is not remedied, they also suffer from frostbite (Core Rulebook 442). If the PCs secure cold-weather outfits before leaving Heldren, they receive a +5 bonus on Fortitude saves against exposure to the weather while adventuring in the forest.
Additionally, within the edges of the Border Wood, 6 inches of snow cover the ground, reducing overland travel rates by half. During combat, entering a snow-covered square costs 2 squares of movement.

The ice statue-
The remains of the Taldan captain tasked with escorting Lady Argentea from Zimar back to Oppara stand here as a gruesome statue, his slain body mostly encased in ice. Unfortunately, the captain's body is no longer intact, as pieces of him now lie in blocks of slowly melting ice at his feet.

Upright Carriage-
The decorative chasings on this expensive carriage bear the marks of Taldan heraldry, as well as damage from the many arrows fired in the battle that took place here. A spear has been wedged between the handles of the carriage doors to hold them closed.
Seamus Passeri
hearing muffled sounds from inside the upright carriage Sariel calls back to the party, "Hey I think we have a live one, we may need some help, I will remove the spear, it seems to have the doors locked", holding the crossbow in his right hand he uses his left hand to remove the spear from the door, thus releasing whoever is inside.

Glad that's over, Caan looks a mess, he seemed to give as good as he got. Glad I was right about those two they know which end of a pointed stick to use. Seeing the two zombies dropped by Paletress and Sparhawk he goes over to Caan and asks, "Are you going to be ok Caan? We may need to find you a healer, lets take a second and rest." While they take a moment to gather themselves Seamus asks Paletress, "Paletress, did you find any tracks we can follow? Before we leave we should probably check the last carriage." At some point before they leave Seamus will finish checking the upright carriage and check the one that was tipped over.

While looting Lady Argentea's carriage, the bandits missed a small jewelry box under the seat, which can be found with a successful DC 15 Perception check. Lady Argentea's signet ring is still inside, as are a pair of earrings worth 25 gp, a set of pearl-inlaid bracelets worth 90 gp, assorted gold and silver necklaces worth a total of 75 gp, and one sapphire pendant worth 50 gp.
Al . Wrecked Carriage Rohkar's bandits already looted this overturned carriage. Two of Lady Argentea's handmaidens lie dead inside. Treasure: The broken chests and boxes strewn across the ground contain the handmaidens' spare clothing, including three courtier's outfits worth a total of 90 gp.

while Seamus is checking the upright carriage he finds a small jewelry box under the seat, Argentea's signet ring, a pair of earrings, a set of pearl-inlaid bracelets, assorted gold and silver necklaces, and one sapphire pendant worth. Leaving that carriage, as he heads to the overturned one, he asks the team. "If this was a simple robbery and kidnapping why would they leave all this jewelry in the coach?" I know I wouldn't have,. As he approaches the second coach he finds the two dead handmaidens, why? why? kill innocent women? where is the profit in that Seamus removes the bodies of the two young women from the wrecked carriage and finding the courtier's outfits lays them nearby. He returns to the team and asks. "What shall we do with the bodies of the ladies and the captain? Do we have time to burry them or make a pyre or do we leave them for the wolves." as he thinks for a moment he asks aloud "where does this make sense even for brigands; why leave jewelry? Why kill potential kidnap victims. Their families would have paid something. This seems like carnage for carnage sake."
Seamus Passeri
As Seamus assists in pulling the bodies nearer to where the captains pieces parts are, he stops and thinks for a moment and then asks "did anyone bring a shovel?" looking around he asks Sparhawk, "It may be easier to use a pyre, we could use the broken carriage for wood." waiting for an answer on the shovel he wonders and if we have a fire we could thaw the good captain enough to retrieve any items he may have been carrying before we commit him to the fire.
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
Paletress spends several moments recovering her composure while pulling her falchion from the side of the carriage, still pinning the upper portion of the zombie's torso. When her laughter finally dies away, she shakes herself momentarily and turns to Seamus.
"Seamus, might I suggest that the next time we find a roomed barred from our side with shuffling sounds inside, heh heh, that we mayhap call inside first to see if they are not things that had good reason to be locked away?"
She wipes zombiegook from her sword by drawing it across a dead horse while the others search around for treasure.
"Bloody ew. Now can we look after the tracks I found? Either Lady Argentea is as big as a rhinoceros, or she made the bandits work for every inch they dragged her."
Sparhawk.
Sparhawk makes a face at the idea but shrugs and nods, "Ground is probably too frozen to dig into now anyway. Let's get to it."
He helps arrange the bodies in the collapsed carriage and set the fire.
Seamus Passeri
as they arrange the bodies, Seamus pulls the captain body aside, "we can thaw the captain a little so we can return his armor and weapons to his wife, I will also put the three ladies dresses in the cart, their families may want them returned," after the bodies are ready Seamus will use his flint and steel to light the Pyre, leaving the captain near enough to work the armor and weapons loose, he will then add the captain to the pyre, or at least the parts that were still attached to the equipment. ;-( Once the armor and sword are loose Seamus will hold them up showing them to the party and ask "Do any of you want to use these, until we can return them of course, I'm not trained with either?"
Caan the Unfettered
Caan shrugs, looking over the captain's things. "I suppose I could use the breastplate. No need though!" He grins, lifting up part of his robes showing some slightly rusted chainmail.
Caan is shocked when he hears that Paletress was injured too, making his way over. "For the end... For the end..." Chants the cleric, channeling energy with a small burst of light.

down 5, up 3. I gotta keep my hitpoints tracked on the profile? Yuck. Also, what breastplate? I see no description of the captain's gear.
Paletress eyes the breastplate speculatively, while nodding thanks to Caan for his healing. "Though I could, heh, use the extra protection afforded by that armor, it would slow me even further than we are presently. Heh, I like to be mobile. From the looks of things, I'm the only one other than Caan who knows how to wear such, heh heh, bulky attire.
It would be up to you lot I suppose. Do you want me fast or better, heh, protected?"

brv posted it in discussion, the last entry on the first page
Seamus looks from Caan to Palestress, as he unhooks the cart, and straps the pack saddle to the horse, as he loads the items from the wagon onto the pack saddle he shrugs his shoulders. "You and Caan can sort it out, I've only seen you fight the one time and it seemed like you did fine. But it's not my area of expertise," Looking at Sparhawk he asks, "What do you think swordsman, more armor or more speed?" As the pyre burns, the conversation winds down and Seamus finishes loading the gear on the horse, he hangs his pack with the gear and the new found objects, carrying a light crossbow, he asks the team "Are we ready to continue? Paletress I believe you were going to show us the trail you discovered?"
along with the items we found and the gear we purchased there are weapons on the pack horse; A second crossbow from the armory, the spear from the carriage and the MW longsword from the captain, Aurora are you one of those elves that can use longswords and longbows?
Caan the Unfettered
I suppose it depends on how mobile you like your character Balmothere. I personally think +3 AC would be worth the 10ft of movement, especially since you're not making DD or Acrobatics checks much. The fact that you don't lose AC while raging and can actually increase your Dex if need be is just gravy.
Caan takes a moment to say a few words over the pyre.
"I don't normally do this. People rarely seek Groetus for comfort or reassurance, but perhaps more of them should.
When I could not bear to see the horrors of this world, he took away my sight. When I could not bear what I had already seen, he helped me forget and lose myself in him. Groetus, take away the pain and doubt and loss of those departed, and grant them (and all who pass!) a clean slate in the hereafter. For the end to come."
The half-orc looks up, relieved as though a great weight had been lifted. He smiles as he pops another sweet into his mouth.
"You found a trail? The hunt continues then!"
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
Also, Paletress' AC and attack go up while in adjacent to two or more enemies, so being in the thick of things makes her even more combat effective, too boot
"Caan's armor is also burdensome, so as a party we will still be moving at the same speed. Heh heh, I suppose I can handle the breastplate if there are no other objections."
She nods over to the area just past where the captain-statue was. "The tracks are over there. Either it doubles as a naval dry-dock or the attackers, heh heh heh, carried something away that was REALLY wriggling."

It does help for the DM to know how many hp you have Paletress:) I had to guess.
Sorry, the question was asked in discussion so that was where I answered!
Autumn? Well, from what I read that is not even her real name. I doubt Kara even knows what it is. People of the North does not say whether they give up the racial weapons or not so we will have to wait for her to respond I guess.
Whenever the party is ready to go down the trail let me know. There is no map for a bit just the big map.
brvheart
As it enters the full expanse of the Border Wood, the trail passes through a small clearing among the taller trees before continuing uphill and out of sight. A large chest lies half- buried in the snow, apparently dropped or discarded by those who hastily passed this way.
