Aramis Steele
Aramis shifts forward, trying to keep close for better accuracy. She pulls her powder horn open with her teeth, pouring blackpowder down her musket's barrel, followed by a bullet. She knocks the dented barrel a few times to make sure everything settles. The smell of the powder and gunsmoke lingers around her, an aroma she relishes. Taking aim at the man being swarmed by Doc and Nissa, she waits for a clear shot.
Loading musket as a standard action and shifting 5 feet. Someday, I'll get better action economy and make use of Startling Report. :P Also, GM, sorry I forgot to roll my miss chance. Won't happen again!
Maera
Maera keeps her cool despite the presence of edged weaponry in her face, maintaining her song, and stepping back shortly to work a spell against the man that attacked her.
Hydraulic Push CMB: 1d20 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 + 3 + 1 = 14
GM Hills
The poor sailor is thrown back, soaked, and on his rear.
As this happens, a bright eruption of flames cuts through the fog, clearing much of it near the aft castle, leaving the area clear to see. Stepping from the fog like a hero from legend is Captain Harrigan, flanked by Riaris and Peppery. The sorceress throws another wave of flame that drops one of the sailors that had appeared when the fog fell away. Riaris ran forward and gutted the sailor who was playing the duggi, killing the beat of the drum that had been trying to rally the crew of this ship. As Harrigan strides out of the fog, despite the distraction of battle, everyone spots a random sailor sneaking up on Harrigan, blade drawn, ready to strike.
While this is happening, the recently thrown back sailor, runs up the aft castle stairs, pulling a crossbow from his back as he moves, then turns and fires at the half-orc.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 5
The bolt slides right into Malak's defenses, biting into his flesh.
The man in front of Doc looks over to the 'witch' beside him and slashes at her instead.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
To no avail.
Round 3: 'Heroes' Go!
Nissa Alami
Nissa's blade whistles back in his direction, once, twice.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 2 + 1 = 17
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Spell Combat: 1d20 + 3 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 2 + 1 = 12
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Diabolito Stormbeard
Diabolito grins widely, rubbing his hands together and charging the man sneaking up on the Captain.
"To your back, Cap'n!"
His jaws part wide, as he chomps down on the enemy sailor's shoulder. Right before he chomps down, the teeth sharpen and turn bright red. Activating Battle Rage. So 3 uses remaining today.
Chomp: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 4 + 2 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
14 AC till next round.
Aramis Steele
Striding confidently toward the rear of the ship, Aramis raises her musket and aims at the man with the crossbow. "Ye'd best be droppin' tha', laddie!" she calls. "Ah'm far less likely ta shoot an unarmed man!" To punctuate herself, she fires, blackpowder spilling over her hands and sending another bullet hurtling towards its victim.
Taking a move action and firing as a standard at 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 against touch AC for 1d12 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8 damage. Added bonuses from Maera's song and Point-Blank Shot (the latter of which I forgot last time, on account of I am an idiot).
Malak Wavecrasher
|
Malak bites his teeth down grunting through the pain. As Aramis lets loose her shot the sea reaver runs through the smoke to finish the job if he is still standing. Howling as he runs. Falchion lowered to run him through.
How long does my largeness have left? I'm on my phone so I need somebody to move for me. I'm assuming he is still reloading so unable to AoO. Power attack and smash, which Chornugon Smash just adds penalty to their rolls? .
Intimidate : 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (4, 5) + 12 = 21
GM Hills
Aramis's shot finishes of her original target, a clean shot in his chest that drops him, a bleeding pile, with very little life left in him.
As Malak steps forward, having seen that sailor fall, he looks to the sailor who has had several opportunities to strike at Doc and with a heft of his great falchion, he shows the sailor how to land a blow. And how to fall to the ground.
The recently bit sailor, who had fallen back at Diabolito's bite finds his back to the rail of the ship and throws his sword down and his hands up, his wound bleeding badly.
With his surrender, the aft castle is secured, per your orders and the din of combat continues other places on the boat when you see Mad Zak rush out of the fog, sweat and blood mixing on her face, though it is unclear if the blood is her own, her eyes are excited and almost crazed at the same time. Seeing the group, she touches her holy symbol and a wave of energy rushes through the group.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Thankfully, her healing was not overly strong and so none of the dying sailors seem to stir, but their wounds do seem to seal (those that aren't very, very dead due to meeting the receiving end of the large falchion).
Maera and Doc still have Round 3 actions, then everyone may take a round 4 action. There are other combats going on, but nothing that you would be able to get to and get back if something were to happen, plus you know the captain went into the aft castle. We will stay in rounds because there is still a lot going on. Malak, the spell lasts for minutes, it has been 30s since you drank the vial, so you are good for a while.
Round 4
Zak walks up to Malak and shakes her head, "Be careful, we don't want the muscle to fall before The Wormwood does," she says a bit more loudly than wise, but with the din, it is likely safe. She then touches him and whispers a prayer and he feels healing rush through him.
CLW: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Maera
Maera strides forward to her former position near the lifeboat, in case further resistance tries for it. Whether Harrigan plans to kill all abroad or take the survivors on the account as well, she doesn't know - but letting anyone escape is surely not in the group's best interest.
Free Action - End Song, Move Action for her Round 3.
Doc Williams
"Well, wasn't that a rush?" Doc says nonchalantly. "I suppose we guard the deck here until the captain reappears?"
Looking at Malak, he sees that the half-orc is still quite torn up. Digging out a flask, Doc hands it to him. "Here, this is the last for the day, but better get you in good shape in case something unexpected happens."
"By the way, how's that elixir working out for you? Enjoying your new-found strength and height?" Doc asks with a grin.
Malak -> Infusion (Healing): 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 HP healed
Diabolito Stormbeard
Showing dominance towards the downed sailor, he puts his boot on the man's chest and grins, showing the shark teeth between his lips. The head of his axe plants into the deck of the ship near the captive's head.
"I'd not suggest moving, lad. The sharks ain't just in the water now." He seems to be truly enjoying this whole experience.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
He grins at the assembled group, showing those ungodly large teeth. "How's the rest of ya? Not too injured?" the druid asks, licking his lips as he lingers on the injured and chuckles.
Malak Wavecrasher
|
The giant half-orc reaches down and grabs the vial from Doc and places it in a pocket. "Aye matey! Ha! The poor fools never stood a chance! Ye see what I did to the first 'un?" Malak then reaches into his bag and grabs the potion he had received from Grok. He pops the cork and downs it.
Taking a potion is a standard, correct? So only one per turn.
Heals: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 3 = 12
Then he looks at the dwarf standing below him. "Sharks don't play wit' ther' food, they finish it quick and dirty. Just do 'im in 'lready, we don't need the extra weight."
Maera
Maera huffs dismissively. "Sharks also don't go 'round killin' what's useful to them. Remoras be the last to get the bite, if at all," she says, referring to the fish commonly known as 'sharksuckers.' "And Harrigan seems to prefer pliant minds to work his deck rather than chum. D'you really want to go 'round pointlessly killin' his potential replacements after yesterday?"
Nissa Alami
Nissa smiles at Maera's chastisement of the man. This is why we women are better rulers than men. We can more easily see the bigger picture.
"Maera is right. You, who speak of the great virtues of pirate life, what greater virtue is their than profit? There was profit in killing those who ambushed you yesterday, though it was a profit at great price, but there is no profit in murdering one who may become an ally."
Turning to the fallen sailor, "अभी भी हो सकता है और रहते हैं. भागने के लिए अपना समय अभी नहीं आया है."
GM Hills
Just for clarification, yes, only one potion a round. So you have to choose one of the two to drink before I move to round 5, at which point you can decide what to do after I post the start of it. I would suggest you drink the disposable one, and save the nicer one.
Meanwhile, the sailor, sits, crossing his arms on his knees, obviously showing he is done.
Malak Wavecrasher
|
Ah, I see. My mistake with that. Switch it then to me drinking the Infusion that Doc made instead of the Cure Moderate. So HP is at 18/24
Malak grunts at the two women and their words. The barbarian has no desire to try and use words to defend himself, neither would he know how to against such well armed opponents. He simply holds his great falchion in his hand and waits. Eager to continue spilling blood and unleash his fury.
GM Hills
Aramis spends her free moment to reload her musket.
As the group gets it's bearings, it is a calm that is quickly shattered by a loud explosion beneath the deck of the boat and heat erupts from the below.
As this happens, five sailors rush from beneath the deck, looking as if hell is behind them, so they don't care how bad it is before them. A few short steps behind them is a woman who looks a bit better dressed and instead of carrying the short bladed sword or a small club as the rest of the crew has, she carries a very odd-looking polearm.
Round 5: 'Heroes' Up!
Nissa Alami
Did the guy who is next to me provoke when he entered that square? It looks like he might have.
With new foes to fell, Nissa begins her dance anew.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 - 2 = 6
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Spell Combat: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 2 = 10
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Diabolito Stormbeard
Ripping his axe up, Diabolito moves around, water dripping from his fingers at he mutters harsh, rushing words, pointing at the first of the sailors rushing up on deck. As he points in the direction, a rush of water wells up from the deck of the ship itself, crashing into the sailor. Hydraulic Push
Hydraulic Bull Rush: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
I seriously doubt that's going to beat the CMD... :( boo...
Aramis Steele
Thanks for GMPC'ing. My weekend game started early today, and this is the first chance I've had to get online.
Seeing the new group rush up on deck, Aramis braces her musket against her shoulder. "An' 'ere I was startin' ta relax!" she laughs. "Looks like there's more fun ta be 'ad after all!" Taking aim at the woman with the polearm, she fires for a third time.
Firing at 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23 for 1d12 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage.
Maera
"What in the Hells are they playin' at?" she hisses, surprised by the explosion, for ships and fire tend to not be friends. She doesn't have time to fully process this, however, and with new arrivals to combat she begins her bard song anew.
5ft back to allow the big, scary half-orc more room, Inspire Courage up
GM Hills
I'm taking into account Inspire for all the previous rolls, it does not help Nissa (sorry :( ), but it does give Diabolito EXACTLY what he needed to hit and gives Aramis 1 extra damage.
The magus makes her slashes quickly, only to find that she had overestimated the speed of the opponent and her attacks come up short.
Diabolito follows up quickly as a blast of water erupts from him, slamming the first sailor.
1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 5 - 4 = 21
Slamming into the next sailor behind him, who falls onto the boarding plank.
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
But manages not to fall off of it.
Gritting her teeth, the female with the odd weapon calls out in Vudrani.
"इसमें से पहले इस विश्वासघाती!"
I'll give Malak until tonight when I get home from work, then the 'bad guys' will go
Nissa Alami
"आप एक राजा कुछ भी की बेटी न्यायाधीश या इनकार करने का अधिकार नहीं है. ना ही आप कौशल है. , निम्न जाति कुत्ते घुटने."
Malak Wavecrasher
|
Unsure if the GM will allow this move. I am going to move over Nissa and stand in the spot next to or across the stairs they cam up. Was not sure how constricting the map configuration was.
Malak growls as the sailors come up the stairs. He sees the female and the pole arm and beams with excitement at new prey. The large sea reaver seems like a territorial beast moving to protect his companions. He takes advantage of his increased size and steps over Nissa to position himself in a place between her and the other female, taking on the image of a protective animal. Then without word or hesitation, the Wavecrasher moves with unsettling speed for his size and brings his great falchion around at the female sailor. Power attack and Chornugon smash.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23
Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Damage: 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (2, 5) + 12 = 19
Crit: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Looks like I hit her with 38 damage? I want more of these potions in the future ;) Almost wish I was using the boarding pike for x3 crits.
GM Hills
Because of the size, it's simply not a possibility for you to pull that off. There has to be a downside to your oneshotting everyone you hit ;) I will redirect the attack to a critter you can reach as it is and move you down one (unless you decide you don't wish to, but this would put you where you can make an opp attack on either of the prone enemies.
Malak is living up to his name, all too well, crashing through these sailors, it would be a blessing if one of them lived after his blade met them. Or perhaps it would not, because living with the kind of wounds his large weapon is dishing out would not be a good life to live, at all. This sailor met his end as Malaks blade met his spine. It did skip off the bone and not split the main in two, but he won't be moving ever again as the blade rebounds ever so slightly.
Still at work, I will post again shortly, as I am almost done here...I hope
GM Hills
At once, the two sailors who fell from the blast of water stand up, one of which Malak takes advantage of the moment of weakness and slashes out at.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
2d6 + 12 ⇒ (5, 6) + 12 = 23
The sailor doesn't notice the blade coming down and pushes up into, feeling the sting of the weapon, which leaves him unconscious...but breathing.
The officer, which has become clear since she seems to be barking out orders takes a step back and then the ranseur in her hands suddenly shoots out in length, growing to be twenty feet long, at which point she plunges it into Malak.
"कोई! यह एक बहुत बडा!"
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 4) + 7 = 15
The long trident-like weapon punctures his stomach and leaves him bleeding profusely.
The remaining sailor who had been on the plank, steps up and in a quick and luck strike, catches Malak just right, leaving a vicious wound under his arm.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Seeing the large half-orc take the blow, the sailor beside him takes a quick swing at Malak with his club.
Seeing the large half-orc drop from his companion's blow, he turns to the traitor and slams his club into her head.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
The final sailor takes a quick swing at the Vudrani pirate, slashing out at her.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
But despite his best efforts, can't penetrate her defenses.
Round 6: 'Heroes' Up
Malak Wavecrasher
|
Yes, definitely using ferocity. Which would mean I am 8hp below 0.Just a quick inquiry, has the Intimidate from the smashes been getting applied?
The large half-orc roars in pain after the sequence of attacks. Then just as they all think he is starting to fall, Malak lurches his head up and screams a bloodthirsty sound. The barbarian takes a couple steps back, breathing hard. The rage in his eyes is burning like a fire as he watches the enemy. He quickly rummages in his pocket and brings out the potion Grok had given to him as a prize. Malak pops off the cork and downs it quickly.
Cure Moderate: 2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 3) + 3 = 13
The barbarian seems to be stable, for the time being. He heaves his large blade in the air and belts out a roar to show he can still fight.
Though if they keep coming at me like that I probably will die.
Doc Williams
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Mv. Act.: Move to top of stairs. Std. Act.: Disarm
Seeing Malak skewered on the over-sized Ranseur, Doc moves quickly towards the enemy officer. Hopping over the railing and back up the steps, he approaches cautiously.
"That's hardly the way for a lady to behave, you should be ashamed!" he chastises the officer. As he verbally berates her, he takes a quick swing at her weapon, attempting to knock it out of her hands. "Here, let me take that before you hurt someone else with it." he says, flashing a quick grin at her.
GM Hills
As Doc steps up, the officer looks like angry that she can't swat at him. As he attempts to pop the ranseur out of her hands, the weapon shrinks back down, but still not quite small enough to strike at him with the long weapon. However, his strikes bounces off the shaft and he can't quite pry the weapon from her hands.
Nissa makes her first attack and fails, but the second attack lands, placing a mark on the man that quickly erupts in a burst of magic that far exceeds what she was expecting from the attack! Been waiting for you to land that all combat! Add Arcane Strike to your feat list, Nissa.
Maera
Free Action - Maintain Song, Full Round Action Sleep, Will DC 14
Hoping to dispatch several of their targets at once, she targets a Sleep spell clustered behind the three men under the leader's command, close to the edge of the boat.
Diabolito Stormbeard
Diabolito grumbles and takes a step over to the conscious sailor and proceeds to take a chunk out of him, his teeth turning bright red as he swings his axe to follow. Battle rage on bite.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 1 - 5 = 1
Damage: 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 6
Battleaxe: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
And nothing...
GM Hills
Or you hit exactly, thanks to that +1 from Maera
The axe bites into the sailor and he winces as he then swings back at Diabolito thanks to the axe swing causing him such pain.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Unfortunately, the shark shaman's tough hide (or armor, as the case may be) is enough to stop the sword from causing any damage at all.
The officer says a word once more, stepping back as the ranseur leaps in length once more and now at ten feet long, she attempt to drive the weapon into Nissa.
Power Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Pain: 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (3, 4) + 11 = 18
The weapon just barely pierces Nissa's defenses, but once it does, it tears through her flesh, impaling her and knocking her unconscious in a single blow.
Round 7: 'Heroes' Up
Aramis Steele
"'Ey there, ye scurvy sea-witch! Ye'd best be stayin' away from me friend!" Aramis roars as she takes aim at the officer once again. The sight of Nissa going down fills her with rage, and while her aim is steady, it's little more than a graze. She hurls a curse at the firearm, whacking the barrel with the flat of her palm. "Useless bastard thing!" she growls, spitting on the deck of the ship.
Firing at 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 22 for 1d12 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 = 4 damage.
GM Hills
The officer takes the shot with gritted teeth, blood seeping from a wound on her shoulder, but it does not end her resolve, which was strengthened when she dropped Nissa.
Mad Zak seems to pop out of nowhere, running from one spot on the ship to another, seemingly casting constantly, so she is tough to keep track of, but she points at Nissa and clutches her holy symbol. Nissa, you have been stabilized
Maera
Maera, like Aramis, is similarly enraged, and for the first time her allies have seen, pulls her bowstring back to strike. She seems quite serious about her oath not to lose another one of her friends to the sea.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 20
Pain? Pain!: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Maintaining Song as Free, naturally. Edit: Wow. Um. Okay.
Confirm?: 1d20 + 3 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 1 - 4 = 19
Pincushion: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12
So, 19 damage? I think. Jesus, even with the -4 penalty apparently I need her to take a play out of Malak's handbook more often.
GM Hills
The look on the officer's face changes drastically as the arrow catches her off guard. Tearing through her stomach, the arrow nearly penetrates her entire abdomen catching between muscles and tearing through organs. Her face seems to lose some of it's color at that, but she grits her teeth and is still standing.
Diabolito Stormbeard
The dwarf growls low and dives in towards the officer, his teeth glowing, as he puts his full effort into taking the last chunk necessary to take the woman down a peg.
Bite: 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 5 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 - 5 = 3
Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
Seeing his teeth miss, his axe swings in, hoping to catch the woman off-guard.
Axe: 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 4 + 1 = 14
Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
