I agree! Let's do it!

Yah, i'm not sure what to expect in this joint. Leaving it a bloody, smoking heap is always an option.

Hey Guys, I'm back. Sorry for the vanishing act but work and (especially) life got ugly in a number of ways. I apologize for not keeping you better informed but I needed to lick my wounds and regroup after a very bad set of months. I'm still stretched a bit thin work-wise... so much so that I've had to make some unfun decisions about my gaming commitments. I'm easing my way cautiously back into gaming so I don't over-commit and can safely carry my share of the RP load. To that end, I've quit all of my games, save the oldest... i.e. Wicked. I appreciate your patience and I'll try to get up to speed quickly.

Thanks!

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Let me be the first to say welcome back. Things are moving kinda slow right now while Mark get his new place put together and deals with work.

King of Talingarde

First off, hope everything works out okay for you Price. Take all the time you need to catch up, and let me know if you need anything.

Secondly, I'm sorry on the pace things have taken lately. I promise I'm trying to catch up, but I've had so much on my plate at present. Things are probably going to stay spotty through the 11th, but after that I have a plan to help improve things. I'd expect another slowdown for a couple weeks sometime between October to December (I'll provide better dates when I know them). Once again apologies. This will not die if I have to involve Miracle Max!

Also, just going to say now that August 14th to the 18th, I'll be almost completely unavailable. Gencon!! And a chance to relax!! I'd expect little to no posts that time.

Appreciate the update/warning(s), and I look forward to whatever progress we make. :)

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Sweet we in business. Good to have you back mark.

King of Talingarde

Yes, back in business! And I shouldn't have any problems keeping it going. Well, aside from Gencon in August.

Male Changeling Fighter 1, Monk 1, Rogue 1, Ranger 1, Actor 5

I miss Gencon. :(

King of Talingarde

I just want to clarify, since I have played under this type of GM. I won't kill a character via an RP moment based on a random die roll. So there won't be a Save or Die from this. Save vs. Some other horrific event sure, just not death.

I guess that's good to know. :\

Aaahhh.. Wednesday... I hate you.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

It is my day off. I love Wednesdays.

And now I hate Fargo! grumble grumble

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

If it helps I work about 45 hours a week working 4 days.

Lol. I'm just being a grumpy ass... nothing can help me. >:(

Ten hour work days do suck, though.

Wednesday is my friday. I still have to work, but it's definitely the best of the work days.

King of Talingarde

I'm going to six days a week (well, actually 12 days in a row, then 2 off). And it'll be longs ones since I'll be training someone so that after a couple months I hopefully won't be doing that anymore. Fortunately I managed to get my vacation next month covered for it.

Apparently i like to very slowly, deliberately, and carefully open the door... peeking carefully every way i can...

... then jump through the door naked.

That's my summation of Cain's actions. :)

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Looks like somebody is happy to see us. (we can tell because your tail is wagging).

I'm trying to decide if that is a double or a triple entendre. (sp?)

not...
his...
tail.

Which makes the wagging all the more impressive, no?

Just think Price. In 9 months you could have puppies.

King of Talingarde

I'm sure somewhere there's a table that could handle a Lycantrhope/Aasimar offspring. The question is do I want to know what else is on it?

Lol. I'm not sure I want to know.

So, what are we doing next, folks? We've off'd three of the captains. The only one remaining hasnt had any town presence or presented us a weakness.

We have this event coming up where the singer is coming to town, but hell if I know what we should try to do with that opportunity.

Also, Xzaral, when is Cain's Efficient Quiver coming in? it's been nearly a week since he put the money down. Do I just need to have Cain check in on that halfling?

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

We might want to run the clock down a little till we can poison during the assault window. I st think we should try and take out the raven tower before we start the assault proper that way we know that even if we are rousing suspicion they can not get reinforcements.

I'm not opposed to the idea of trying to take out the raven tower, though I do have my concerns. First and foremost, I want to give the people in the tower no warning of what's coming. Second, if I'm running the fort – and my goal is to defend and warn against bugbear invasion – having my fastest method of communication would put me on high alert and immediately have me sending riders to get communications back up. So if we go this route, I'd suggest we do it teh night before we do the poisoning and start the raid. Otherwise, I fear we'll just complicate our attempts on the night of the assault itself.

But if people have ideas that allow us to knock out their pigeon-tower communications before we make the assault, it would certainly simplify the assault itself.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Hows about this. We deliver the poison and give it time to take effect. Then we go in through the tunnel disguise ourselves as soldiers, and take out the raven tower. Then we set off the flair and we make for the gate house, taking out any other good targets we see on the way.

Mark, I was looking over undead templates in prep for creating some minions, and I was wondering if you'd allow Xanos to research/create a way to apply skeleton templates to zombies and vice-versa.

The Bloody Skeleton and Burning Skeleton templates are super cool, but there isn't a similar template for Zombies and it seems like there should be.

What do you think?

A review on what we discussed earlier

I still think that post is a good general game-plan.

Teh highlights:

1) Deliver poison.
2) Wait for it to take effect, then fire the Lord's Dalliance.
3) Head through the tunnel, hit the barracks first -- seal the doors and fire the guys inside.
4) Then move on the rookery, wipe it out, then send the bugbear signal.
5) Double-time it over to the gates, hopefully using the onrushing bugbears and the fire back in town to muddy their abiliity to notice/respond to us.
6) Secure the gates and open them for the bugbears.
7) Then see if we think it's worth it to make our way into the main tower and take out the BBGG.
8) Skidaddle

Obviously we wnat to hold this plan loosely, and make decisions based on the situation once we're in there.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Thats right. The only thing I would change would be to fire something other than the inn. Having the tunnel as a way out is a nice backup.

Hmmm... good idea. The benefit of firing the inn being that it's harder to determine that we were the ones that started it... and no one is likely to be down there to see us do it. Where-as if we go fire another building, we have to go outside to do so.

I'm fine either way, though I like firing the inn just cause i think it'd be more demoralizing to the town. >:D

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

The circlets seem like the answer to the again. Maybe there is a temple we can burn?

I'm fine either way, though I don't think we'll have a hard time getting out of the fort once this thing is done.

Xzaral: just reminding you again about the Efficient Quiver Cain is buying off the halfling. Will that be ready by he time we begin the assault?

King of Talingarde

The temple in Aldencross is called the Temple of the Shielding Blade. At this point, that's all you know about it.

Cain:

GLYPH OF WARDING (COMMAND SPELL) DANCE!!!!

I feel that Exploding Runes gets overused at times, so it's nice to have an alternative. Like making my players dance for me, hehehehe.

Also yes, it's ready to be picked up. Not trying to ignore it, sorry sorry!!!

Exxxxcellent (he says while dancing... white boy style)

Cain would probably want to take care of that this same day. You want that RP'd? I have no other goals while there, but I don't know if you have anything you want to happen while Cain is 'on the town'.

I guess Cain could also drop by the Temple to determine it's stone-to-wood ratio. As well as any good approach points for firing it. And I guess he could spend a day looking for the best buildings to fire in general.

King of Talingarde

The only RP concerns I have is that you did order the quiver from Third Eye Oddities, but looking at the dates you could have picked it up before Xanos's RP so we won't have to take into account how that turns out.

As far as burning buildings, just let me know if that's your plan to do so!

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Torching a temple might be harder to do (if it is stone), harder to get away with (pesky priests as witnesses and a fire brigade), and draw more scrutiny. I'd suggest torching a barn, livery stable, oil seller, etc. Something with lots of nice flammables and potentially panicked animals and humans. :D

Tell ya what, Cain will use the rest of this day (and i'll get a post up forthwith) to pick up his quiver and do some scouting for the best solutions for setting a fire that will sew chaos and require the most attention from the town and the fort.

Tanneries are a good choice. Lots of flammable stuff and often located near the edge of town due to the smell. If I recall correctly.

Mark, did you catch my question earlier?

King of Talingarde

Let me look over the templates and I'll get back to you on that one.

Just posting to make sure you guys know I'm still here!

Good to hear from you. I'm hoping our fearless leader is keeping his head above water.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

I am fine, thanks.

King of Talingarde

I looked over the templates you asked about Xanos. I don't see anything overpowering about adding them to zombies. I do retain the right to rescind this statement if something comes up during play.
