Didn't he make something out of it? Now I gotta go re-read his post.

"freshly enchanted ivory clasp"... i guess that's nto the horn, huh?

So, I hop over here to catch up on your game and what do I get first thing? A prince albert with the narwhal horn.

That is something my mind's eye just can't unsee...

Hey, man, this is an Eeeevil campaign... and nothing says evil like that image. :)

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

...I hate you all.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Ok guys, the only wish list of stuff people want that I saw was from Gwyn and Cain. It looks like a lot of the things that we want might be to expensive for the town. What do people want me to try and buy. Conversely, are we going to wait.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

The bow is the main thing on the list, the other stuff can come later if need be.

Percep +4. Init +8 -- Hp 50/50. AC 18, t12, ff16. Fort+4, Ref+4, Will+6

I'm good for shopping; saving up for a +2 stat item (still kind of torn between cha or str)

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Yeah, I prefer to save up the money as well.

Same. I can craft us any low power item we need. No reason to dump money into an evonomy we're going to destroy soon anyway. Might as well just give it right to the bugbears.

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

Brings up a great point. Maybe we should loot the vendors when the bugbear attack is underway. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?

Price pretty much voiced whati was curious about. :)

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

I must admit, I had similar thoughts. Crappy selection at the magic shop though. They did just get in a valuable selection of ivory.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

I think some places may soon be experiencing a rash of robberies.

... a bunch of burglaries.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

A lot of larcenies.

... a schmorgesborg of smash'n'grabs.

A bevy of break ins

... a handful of heists.

a cupful of capers

A tangle of thefts

And we're a bunch of alliterative asses. :D

Percep +4. Init +8 -- Hp 50/50. AC 18, t12, ff16. Fort+4, Ref+4, Will+6

A cascade of crimes!

We're verbose villains, it's true.

Just an FYI, I came up with the magic items by pure rolls out of Ultimate Equipment. So blame the dice :)

My plan is to have the shops update weekly, if that helps any.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Oh, I know you rolled. And I am fine with that. It just seems that none of those things are on the party list.

First of all, wordplay victory goes to Fargo... im all out!

I'm okay with this way if doing gear, especially since there are people who can potentially craft items we want. :)

King of Talingarde

Have to head out. I'll respond to Milla's post when I get back to the hotel tonight.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

We have two of the Mithril snakes left it looks like.

King of Talingarde

Last I counted you did.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

I kinda want to keep one, assuming there's a way to assert dominance over it. I'm not sure the rules cover any means of overriding a golem's commands.

Mark, any thoughts on that?

Also, I'm not really sure what me and Shulme aught to be doing in terms of gathering information and prepping to infiltrate Ballentyne.

If anyone needs anything, I could use this time for a storm of prep-crafting. I definitely need to restock some scrolls too.

My plan was to convert ivy trinkets directly into small, inexpensive magic items (convert GP value right into Once Per Day spell trinkets and stuff like that)

Any thoughts or requests?

We're going to fix that. Don't worry.

King of Talingarde

As far as the Mithril Cobras go, to change ownership I'd require the Craft Construct feat for starters. I'm kind of leery of simply requiring that and time though, unless every golem you encounter becomes a grapple encounter as you attempt to subdue it in order to control it (though I'm liking the imagery of it). On the other hand, the work involved in that would be pretty impressive.

For now, my thinking is to go with this. 10% of the cost is required to attempt to wrest control. You have to spend half the time it would be required to craft the construct. At the end you make a Spellcraft check as appropriate to crafting the construct, and if successful you wrest control of it.

So for a Mithril Cobra, the cost would be 1,000gp (1/10th of 10,000). It would take 5 days to attempt control (1/2 of the 10 days to craft). The DC would be 12, and probably +5 for each missing spell (Discern Location, Animate Object, Geas/Quest). You of course would be able to take 10 on that check.

Opinions on that?

Balentyne Explored

I'll put this link on the campaign page, as well as a legend of rooms. But for now.

8A: The Servant's Entrance. This is the servant entrance into the fortress from the Aldencross Road.
8B: The Pontine Gate. This leads to a bridge going over the River Tyburn. The doors are open.
18: This is the bridge over the River Tyburn.
18A: This is the drawspan that leads to the eastern gatehouse. The drawspan is currently up.
10: This is the kitchen.
12: This is the mess hall.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

That sounds like a great way of handling it. Craft Golem is on my list of feats (at 9th level)

Unfortunately, the cobras might be better used as cash between now and then. I guess I'll just have to make my own later when money isn't such an issue.

King of Talingarde

I won't be able to reliably update until Saturday night. I apologize for this.

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

Not a problem. We'll be here.

Oof.. that's open-ended. The pre-req's for the Efficient Quiver seem a bit high to make that request of you. At some point, I'd like to see if I can persuade you to begin working on a Strength belt for Cain, but I need to make sure I can get you the gold for it.

You okay with making that kind of stuff for us? There anything we can do to make it worth your while if you're fine with it?

Other than that, those alchemist's fires were pretty helpful.

You sure you don't mind doing all that? I can't immediately think of how Xanos should engage in some of this info-gathering, but the rp is fun, and i hate for you to miss out.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

Xanos might make the townsfolk cry if he trys get info

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Not cry. Maybe just have a crisis of faith. I'm trying to decide if crafting is more important than starting a revolution of anti-thiests.

As for crafting for the group, as long as whoever wants an item is paying it's cost, then there's no reason not to make gear for the group. As for in game reasons, we're in this together. It might be hard to tell, but Xanos actually likes all of you. Even Cain. :)

Besides, its always good to make sure the people around you owe you a couple favors.

Lol. I hear that. And I'm not really sure many people actually like Cain. Put up with him? Sure.

He's a blast to write, though.

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Xanos is a philosopher. You can tell how much he likes you by his willingness to argue with you. People he doesn't like get the silent treatment, and then usually die. :).

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

I've made my decision. It really looks like you folks have the information gathering well in hand. I'm going to spend this time crafting like a madman to prep for the siege.

I'll post my final list and it's cost once I finish crunching the numbers.

Let us know how we can help... financially or otherwise. :)

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

I figure I'm basically carving spare ivory into wondrous items, or grinding it into scroll ink.

Any cash or special materials you can scrape together, I can use to frontload the difficulty of this operation.

I'm going to start with scrolls of invisibility, bull's strength, disguise self and alter self.

If I could somehow get my hands on a scroll of Animate Dead, this whole thing would get about a million times easier.

If you can figure out how to get that request to Cain/Fargo, we can put some effort into that. Though that's assuming this town has it.

Male Half Elf (AC: 15|11|14 - For:+4 | Rex:+3| Wil:+5- Per:+2Init:+3)

If the party has to resuce Price, does that make us big damn villians?

Female Half-elf Bard 1/Unchained Rogue 3 HP: 20/20 AC 14/10/14: F+2, R +9, W+6 (+2 vs. Enchantments), Per:+18, Init: +10

I doubt an Anything Good town is going to have that. The Asmodean Bishop, however...

I'm just gonna remember this quote....

HP 27/35, Temp HP 0, 3 str damage, AC: 11, Fort +02/ Ref +2 / Will +6, Perception:+5 Channel 8/8, Bolster 8/8, Infernal Healing 50/50, Command Undead 50/50. Active Effects: Fox's Cunning

Cheap things I can make right now-

Bracers of Armor +1 500 gp, about 8 hours

Belt of Tumbling 400 gp, apx 6 hours

Quick Runner's Shirt 500 gp, apx 8 hours

Daredevil Boots 700 gp, apx 11 hours

Pipes of Sounding 900 gp, apx 7 hours

Stubborn Nail 50 gp, about an hour

Warpaint of the Terrible Visage, 50 gp, about an hour

Elixer of Hiding, 125 gp, 2.5 hours

Elixer of Vision, 125 gp, 2.5 hours

Keep in mind that any of this stuff can be modified slightly as long as it doesn't change the mechanics. Pipes of Sounding could be a flute or a kazoo instead.

Any of those sound like things you folks want?

HP 21 | AC/T/FF 14/12/12 | CMD 17 | F+3 / R+3 / W+8 | Init +6; PER +10 | Image

If Price gets caught, forget her. Complete the mission. My goal will be draw off as many military resources as possible. :)

Price is ALL about the mission.

Holy crap. I havne't seen the Stubborn Nail! That got some serious utility application.

If you've got the time a handful of those would be good for the group. A Quick Runner's Shirt would be nice for 500g.
