Down 11hp from the battle, so Mithas will take hex to top off 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (1, 8) + 7 = 16

Ah, a golem, I gotcha, I misunderstood what Krosh was referring to.

Mithas nocks one of his blunt arrows, and once everyone is ready to rumble, casts vanish on himself.

Yup Byakko'll take a hit of that...
Hex: 2d8 + 7 ⇒ (4, 8) + 7 = 19

Byakko casts a spell on Enii and holds the rest of his energy in reserve. As above...

Krosh will cast Barkskin on Byakko before the fight as well, giving him +3 Natural Armor to AC.

You make your preparations and look across the room to the quiet gathering of bones. As you advance a few more steps into this throne chamber, a flash of blue and black light suddenly flares up from the central throne and with a disjointed clattering and scraping, the discarded skeletal remains swiftly pile up upon themselves until they form a hulking, vaguely humanoid amalgamation of bones, sinew, and pulsing dart arcane energy. Glacial blue light burns deep in the sockets of the eyeless skull, the jaw of which distends to emit a near ethereal hiss.

You all act first :)

Good catch :) I did not..., so with Heroism & Bless, attack becomes 23 (20+2+1)

Round 1

As the bones and sinew stitch themselves together into this horrid guardian, Geedra acts first by beseeching her patron to bless the party, bolstering your attacks and resolve.

Skäne charges forward, spear and shield in front of him. The spear thrust finds purchase on the skeletal form, but the tip scrapes off of the bones in a glancing fashion, finding more negative space than solid matter.

Mithas releases a blunted arrow from his veil of invisibility, flickering back into view as the projectile slams into the bone-fused shoulder of the creature. Fragments of the bone erupt and spray across the stone throne as the well-placed arrow batters through it.

Mithas's opening volley having been loosed, Byakko and Enii follow up with their own two-pronged attack. Byakko's own katana slash deflects off of a particularly hardened bone ridge, but Enii fares better. The white tiger leaps across the room and collides with the golem in a savage entanglement of bone, claws, fangs, and fur. Predatory screams accompany the dislodging of bone and sinew that is flung through the air as a result of the melee.

Yowch! Even with the claws being slashing, that was an impressive unloading of damage. Both Mithas's hit and the CMB to grab were barely successful...but only due to the enemy being flat-footed as it hasn't acted yet, so striking first was quite the boon!

Krosh steps forward and releases his familiar motes of cleansing silver energy. This time, however, they do not swarm over you to knit your wounds, but swarm over the bone golem. As the light washes over it, the bone golem's thrashing against Enii's attacks suddenly slow.

The horror, greatly diminished in heft and statue by the previous onslaught and now seemingly weighed down by Krosh's energy, sways where it stands. It turns its skull and makes one languid bite at Enii, and does manage to pierce the ferocious cat with its jagged skeletal fangs. 11 damage to Enii.

To be honest, I won't even bother updating the map on this one. This thing just got savaged and it is currently grappled and slowed...have at it!

Round 2

Skäne, Byakko, and Enii join forces in the clustered melee around the throne, unleashing a barrage of blade, claw, fang, and spear that overcome the unholy construct, effectively severing the arcane energy that binds it together. Byakko's blade slips deep inside the bony cage and severs a large strang of enchanted sinew as Skäne forces the head of the spear into the fractured skull. A moment later, the bones clatter onto the stone chair and the floor, unmoving.

Taking another moment to take stock of the room, you see that the strange, translucent three dimension map that takes up the floor in the center of the room appears to be Irrisen. You recognize certain features of Whitethrone in the northern part of the map, such as the clock tower where you fought the white dragon. Closer inspection reveals minuscule black dots that slowly move along the surface of the map - on the streets of the tiny cities and the roads across the tiny geography.

A light pop in the air nearby alerts you to the sudden reappearance of the kikimori Zorka. She has a guarded look about her, eyes darting this way and that for a moment before she straightens herself up.

"Well." she says haughtily. "You broke the rotten daughter's nasty monster. Good, good." She scans her eyes over each one of you very carefully, and sighs. "Maybe you really are new riders. Oh, oh, what a fate. We are working together now? If we must, we must." She holds out her hands and the cracked clay bowl and brown egg that Byakko had inspected on the table in the previous chamber appear in her hands. "Zorka can try to tell you how to control hut. Zorka not knowing how you plan to escape - nasty rotten daughter stripped all of Baba Yaga's keys in here of magic. Can't just walk hut out of city! But I show you anyway. But first..." the two objects in her hands disappear and she snaps her fingers. Five stiff-bristled brooms suddenly materialize, one near each of you and Krosh. They tip over after being summoned to bump into and lean against you. "First clean up mess of bones you made! Then Zorka tell." She crosses her arms and turns, walking out of the room and back down to the short flight of steps to the cauldron chamber.

”Geedra like make Zorka just a pile of bones,” the goblin grunts in a huff. She does pick up a broom however, as she really wanted to see what would happen when they had the actual keys to the hut.

Byakko raises an eyebrow at the strange creature as he catches the broom falling against him. Once his tongue has returned he responds to Geedra, "Maybe if her hospitality doesn't improve, eh Geedra? Ahhh well she seems to be the living key to this hut, perhaps she'll turn the lock for us." Byakko sets about pushing the dust, sinew and bone into a pile, gesturing to Enii as well. Enii for her part sniffs a bit of sinew and snorts, apparently disgusted. She pads to the mp and sits watching the small dots move about the map.

Rogue(Scout) 7 , hp 45/45, AC 20(T14/FF16) CMD 20, Init +7, Perc +10 (+12 traps). F+5/R+10/W+3 Vanish 5/5

Mithas in enthralled by the map. "This really is amazing. Do you think those little dots are people?"

With Zorka's request, he shrugs an takes up the broom. "Bones aren't the easiest thing to sweep up. Do you want us to take them out of the hut, or...?"

Zorka's voice calls back to you as she heads down into the cauldron chamber. "You smart riders, you figure it out!" She laughs.

As you begin the task of cleaning up the destroyed necromantic bones, you each can't help but start to feel a strange sense welling up deep within you, almost a sort of deja vu. There is an implacable sense of familiarity, though you cannot call up any sort of specific sight, sound, memory, or otherwise, there is some force in the air that gives you some feeling of...belonging? Direction? You aren't quite sure. Even as you sweep the bones, your find your eyes drifting ever slightly towards the other door in the room, and even through the open door back to the cauldron chamber. You barely catch yourself doing it, and when you do, you cannot explain why.

Cleaning the room is altogether a brief affair, though whether it is to the satisfaction of this Zorka is unclear. Regardless, you gather back with the strange spirit in the entry chamber once the job is done.

"Oh, oh, all done are we? Hm," she says, skeptically. "Bah. Fine. Come." She snaps her fingers and once more the innocuous cracked bowl and brown egg appear, this time on the writing desk in the room. "These control the Hut. Ha! Looks on your faces. Do not underestimate Baba Yaga. It is simple, but also not! Usually, must be very powerful mage to comprehend controls, but once you know, use is easy. You are lucky, though, not needing to be big and powerful mages. If you are riders true, you are able to do so, too."

She goes into a perhaps deliberately circuitous and meandering explanation of how exactly these two mundane objects control the hut. She goes on at length about the bowl controlling the direction of the hut itself, while the egg and which way you place, turn, or position it within the bowl allows the user to command the Hut to perform specific actions - move, slam into something, kick with its chicken feet, or even utilize powerful spells, though most seem to be used for traveling purposes. She makes it painstakingly clear that you must utilize the utmost care in the positioning of the egg within the bowl, or terrible things could happen. She then starts illustrating myriad mishaps that could befall you, and the diatribe she embarks on quickly causes you to lose focus, setting your eyes once again to wander, glances drifting to the other doors within the house.

Geedra:
Your glance in particular keeps moving towards a bookshelf set in the center of the eastern wall where there is no door, but still, something deep within keeps drawing your attention to it as if hearing a whisper just beyond the edge of hearing.

After several minutes of her explanation, Zorka suddenly stops. She looks at all of your confused, detached expressions and starts laughing, an abrasive sound that is part crow and part donkey.

"Had you going! Ahahaha," she slaps the table, obviously pleased with herself. "Zorka having her fun with you. Bowl and egg magic, make magic connection with you. Just need to put egg and bowl and say a word and that all! Control all up here," she taps her forehead. "Turn egg upside down and turn twenty degrees to right top make Hut jump...and you believed Zorka," she laughs again, and for a few more moments before she realizes the rest of you aren't as amused. She sighs. "Anyway, like Zorka said before, not sure what you plan to do without Baba Yaga's magic keys to make Hut magically go elsewhere. Can't go marching out of city or rotten daughters and all of theirs will come and put Hut right back where it was." She points to random objects on one of the shelves across the room. "Baba Yaga's nasty daughter disenchanted all keys there when she left bone monster. Baba Yaga make many keys, always used in pairs, all tied to locations...somewhere. Sometimes here, sometimes not. Hut can go to them when magic keys are put in, but no more magic keys here, so now what?"

Mithas smiles politely, "Very funny Zorka. That's quite the sense of humor you have."

He looks around a bit helplessly, "I agree that we probably shouldn't just start wandering around with hut. Maybe we should just poke around a bit? You would think that Baga Yaga would have left some sort of clue for the riders."

He points towards the other door, "What's behind that door?"

"So we need to find lykill (key)?"

He nods at Mithas' logic;

"Aye. Search The Hut, then outside if we need to."

As Geedra wanders over to the bookshelf set into the wall, she focuses a moment to cast an arcane eye over the area in search for any magical auras. Indeed, magic radiates from every corner of the hut, though stronger auras pour out in waves of color from a space beyond the bookcase. One particular aura dances along the spine of a specific book on the case, where etchings in some unfamiliar language are seen. As the goblin focuses in on that aura, the deep, implacable pull goes stronger, and almost within realizing she reaches out and touches it.

The bookcase suddenly shudders and shimmers and the central portion of it simply dematerializes from existence, revealing a room beyond - what appears to be a large and expansive library. Bookcases stretch from floor to ceiling in the chamber, flanking a row of tables standing in the center aisle. Numerous books are strewn on the tables along with blotters, vials of ink, sheets of vellum, and abundant quills. A fire burns merrily in a hearth on the far wall.

"Huh? Who have keys, Cat-Man?" Zorka starts, interrupted by Geedra. "Hey! How you know that there?" she calls out. She scrunches up her face for a moment and sighs. "Fine, fine, I guess Zorka can learn to trust you. You are supposed to be here." She hops up and walks a few steps more into the center of the room and looks at Mithas.

"What door? Trap door inc ceiling go to loft. Oh, elf mean other door in war chamber? Go to cellar. For foods and reagents," she explains. She then hurries up to catch up to Geedra. "Go if you want, but I never saw a goblin who could read!" she honks out that horrible laugh once more.

Zorka perks up when Byakko holds up the items and mentions keys. She turns from heckling Geedra and hurries over.

"What? What you say of keys?" she asks, leaning forward to scrutinize the items when she nears. She waves a hand over them and ponders for a moment before her face lights up. "Ohhhh, you maybe-new riders are crafty crafty!" She honks our her laugh and slaps Byakko on the arm.

"Keys, cat-man! Keys! You have some keys. Zorka can finally get out of this nasty city with Hut! And I guess you all, too. We put keys in the cauldron! And then the hut will go. To where? Only Baba Yaga and Hut know! But Baba Yaga knows best, so wherever we go we will go!"

In the library, glossing over the multitude of tomes reveals extensive volumes on myriad subjects - the planes, geography of Golarian, tomes of magical theory, research, and application, histories, bestiaries, books on herbalism, even guidebooks on creating magical items. There are also scores of volumes written in languages none of you can ascertain, some in alphabets that seem completely alien. You gather that this library could aid you in any sort of research you would want to do, given some time and effort.

You are able to determine that the pair of spectacles sitting on one of the desks are magical - spectacles of understanding. One of the books sitting on the table is also magical, a large, leather-bound tome that seems to include a tabled index of the contents of the library. The center spread of this book also has an intricately detailed painting of the library itself.

You also find 2 arcane spell scrolls - one of web and one of spectral hand.

Zorka comes rushing in, excited about the keys, and clears her throat.

"Listen up, you maybe-new-riders!" she shouts. "You bring old Zorka and Hut keys, so we can be free of this place! Now, Zorka needs to tell you, when Hut goes to place linked to keys, Hut will change. Every place linked to keys make inside of Hut change to different Hut - different rooms, different things! Baba Yaga is the most powerful, haha! Library important room, might help find Baba Yaga and stop nasty daughter, but library might not always be here." She hops over to the tome with the painting of the library and the index. "This keystone book to library. Can take it out of this room, and whatever Hut becomes, book can be used to get back to library, even if not here."

She nods along with her explanation as she hurriedly moves about the room. "Also, books change every time you come in room. Also why Keystone Book important - tells you which new books are here! Books always moving in and out. Baba Yaga has many, many, many books, not all fit here at once! Also, also, also, if you take things out of library, no problem! But if you take things from here out of hut, they go poof! Always turn up back here later, though. Read books now if you want, but read fast! We use keys to travel to new place! New Hut!"

She jumps up and down and dashes back out of the library, tugging on Byakko's sleeve as she moves past him. "Come on, cat-man! We prepare the cauldron!"

Krosh watches the entire event in stoic stoniness, speaking only when Zorka leaves the room again. "This all seems...pointlessly complicated. This Baba Yaga is...something else."

Byakko chucks a vexed look Mithas' way. "Yea but... the books... change? Achh, fine, lead on Zorka... Geedra do me a solid, check if they have any silversmithing books, written by any-dwarf of clan Paradur ideally and maybe something on tiger fur, errr, deep grooming," he says spotting some near frozen and matted gore around the Tiger's claws and mouth.

Enii bares her teeth and issues a low rumble at Byakkos last remark as she pads along beside him. He eyes her sideways as they follow their strange host, "Of course you heard me... you can't seriously plan to lick all that gore off on your own?" Low to high rumble, "What if that last thing hadn't been only dust and bone and sinew? We'd be covered! You're far too big now for me to wash from a canteen... What if the hut takes us somewhere it won't instantly freeze, oh the smell of it..." The repartee of soft spoken Byakko and grumbling responses from the big cat trail off.

Zorka pipes up as she carries the keys back to the cauldron room. "Can leave Keystone Book in main room with cauldron. Cauldron room always here no matter where Hut goes or how hut changes!" she advises.

Once you are all back in the room with the ever-bubbling cauldron, Zorka happily tosses the two keys - the plague doctor's mask and the tuft of frost giant here bequeathed unto Geedra by the former Black Rider - inside, with no thoughts to ask if preparations are complete. The contents of the large pot start bubbling more furiously, and Zorka carefully stirs it with a large wooden spoon.

"Finally! Time to go go go! Bye bye, nasty city! Bye bye, nasty daughters! Let us find the true Queen!"

As the fey creature cackles, nothing seems to happen. You all look around, but you don't see or feel anything...until you look out the windows that once gave view to the forest clearing are now pitch black. A moment later, the walls of the room start to shimmer, and shapes begin to melt and bleed as new ones rise. The cauldron and the table near it are immutable, but everything else slowly dissolves away and is replaced.

We are now officially done with The Shackled Hut. Onward to Maiden, Mother, Crone...

After only a few more seconds, the hyperactive bubbling stops and Zorka ceases her stirring. You stand in a room that is similar to the one you were just in, but not exactly. The cauldron and table remain, but the doors you once used to access the library and map room are gone. A grand cobblestone hearth now fills a corner, dying embers filling the rustic room with a dull red glow. The floors are timber, the walls heavy logs, and where the shelves and tables of strange alchemical ingredients and components were now sit stacks of crates, barrels and other containers in much of the space. They seem to be full of mundane supplies - ropes, tools and farming equipment, canvas for tents, pitons, flasks of lamp oil, and other odds and ends. A rickety wooden staircase climbs a short distance to a small landing where a shallow alcove is home to a set of heavy wooden double doors.

Zorka is delighted, and breathes a sigh of relief. "Not sure where we are, but glad to be gone of that place! Ok you new Riders, time to do your jobs! Get out there and follow Witch Queen's trail! Likely more keys to find wherever we are, more keys to take us to next place! Baba Yaga very smart, plans very good!"

Feel free to take in your surroundings and interact or ask Zorka anything, but when you are ready to brave the doors..

The wooden doors are heavy and difficult to move, but not stuck or locked. They swing open to reveal a long corridor that stretches out left and right, the aged plank floors seeming to continue forever. Solid logs form the passage walls, intricately carved with knotted designs and images of lances and centaurs, ravens and female figures. Pale-winged moths and fireflies flutter though the hallway, their flickering glows filling the corridor with dim light.

"Is there any way to recognize other keys Zorka? They seem pretty nondescript, dare I say it mundane?"

To the group Byakko turns, "Well crew, it's been a wild time since I've joined you, but looks like weve been drafted for the long haul. Any predictions on where we are now? Hopefully somewhere cold still..." he says eyeing Enii's matted fur again.

Mithas looks around with wonder as the room changes around them. "Amazing," he mutters under his breath.

Glancing along the length of the hallway, he says, "I guess we should get the lay of hut before we get to wandering. Maybe see if we can find a window?"

Let's just survey the interior, to see what we can see."

"Be sharp, cat-man," Zorka says, tapping her head. "Listen, listen. Baba Yaga very smart, very wily, more than you or me or anyone. Clues have been left, clues for her Riders. This is how Baba Yaga does her plans and communicates with the Three! So if you new Riders, must always pay attention." The strange house spirit looks to the door on the landing. "Clues before you even get out of hut, Zorka thinks. Hut can be big clue too. But still, IF you are new Riders, you will know when keys are in hand. Will sense thing is a key. Is Rider's job."

"Our path, though clouded from a distance, never fails to be revealed with each move we make," Krosh intones, chiming in to the conversation. "The fate laid out of each of us has always presented the next step in one form or another. I would not give much worry to the where or how. Just the when."

Zorka blinks and stares at Krosh. "Skull man talks strange. Why he always wear skull? You inside, skull-man, no need for masks and hats!"

"A kikimori should understand the ways of the spirit masks," Krosh counters, tapping a hanging talisman with his thumb. His argent stoat companion scampers up to his shoulder and perches there, chattering towards Zorka with a few squeaks.

"Hold there, skull-man, don't come around my house and spook me with your banish magic!" Zorka accuses. "You just keep clear and let Zorka do her job and you do yours!" She stomps around, muttering under her breath.

Krosh shrugs.

You see no windows in this new cauldron chamber, strangely enough. Where the two were before that looked out into the forest clearing in Whitethrone is now a solid wall. The door on the landing seems to be the only point of egress from this room. Looking left and right into that hallway that stretches out of sight into darkness in either direction, you see no signs of windows there, either. Just the intricate designs upon the walls.

"OK bird-lady I'll keep my eyes open." Byakko isn't sure he'd know a key without it swiftly kicking him in the pants but given the many strange paths his life has taken and preponderance of gifts it has given him, from his steadfast companion to his magical abilities and sword, he finds he's inclined to roll with events. He shrugs and examines the designs on the walls near the door.

I was assuming we rested during the leveling process, but if not, that’s a good idea.

Geedra casts Detect Magic, examining the hallway and the new designs that appeared. ”Maybe all this am magic. Geedra try to figure what is what,” she grunts as she looks around.

Byakko:

Some of the designs are unsurprising given whose hut you are in - the linework knots are reminiscent of universal symbols for arcane magic, though with your specific persuasions, you know these particular images to reflect magic that is tied to the moon. The pale figures seem apropos given the entire ruling jadwiga caste being women, and the ravens are symbols of wisdom and mysterious knowledge. The centaurs and the lances are the parts that stand out as odd. They seem out of place thematically with the rest of the designs.

Geedra:
You get a very strong sense of transmutation magic emanating from the very being of the hut itself; it is the most powerful effect in your vicinity. You do, however, also pick up layers of illusion magic on the corridor beyond the door, seemingly from everywhere.

"Hmmm..." lol

Byakko muses to Enii as he traces some of the patterns on the walls with middle and forefinger.

"Ahhh, the moon. Aye, but 'tis not of Tsukiyo... Ravens too... Why the centaurs and lances though girl? Strange..." Byakko relays his thoughts in a contemplative fashion but loud enough for the group to hear. He scratches Enii's head and she yawns in response, he's unsure if this is boredom personified or if she is actually fatigued. "Perhaps a rest while we sleep on our next move?"

”Strong transmutation and illusion magic am all over the hut. Geedra think sleep might be good. Take a rest. See if hut changes again after nap,” she shrugs, not quite sure the best course of action to take right now.

Sorry for the delay. Thought I had posted already for some reason.

"Those symbols are meaningless to me, but I can't imagine it bodes sunshine and easy times for us. Best be at our best, before we wander out into whatever awaits us beyond the hut."

Yup resting sounds good and then let's get this show on the road.

You can certainly rest in the new cauldron chamber, so go ahead and get your spells/abilities/hp back. From there you have the choice to go left or right in the strange hallway.

Krosh looks into the hallway as well, slowly sweeping his gaze across the many images laid upon the corridor.

"The centaur are not known to inhabit many northern climes," he says, running a finger along one of the carvings as he ponders. "Not in the climes we have walked, that is; those lands of the Mammoth Lords, Linnorm Kings, Jadwiga. I believe we are not in the part of Golarian we know anymore, but far to the east, where it is said these boreal centaur dwell."

Byakko blinks at Krosh's thoughts. Suddenly unsure of himself, hoping they have not travelled so far East as his estranged father's land.

He lays down for a shallow but effective rest, thoughts of his sword and ancestors plaguing him. Byakko rises the next day and in a futile effort to prove to himself it would not matter were they suddenly in Tian Xia, he suggests what he thinks is further East, "So the Hut has brought us East... Shall we follow that impulse and take the right corridor, which, err, may be further East? Can anyone tell which way is East...?"

”Geedra once heard good saying. If go right, group never go wrong,” she says as she shrugs her shoulders. She points toward the direction she knew as right. Am centaurs yummy? Geedra am like to taste a centaur and see, she thinks.

You take the time to gather yourselves and rest in the Hut's new cauldron room, utilizing the cozy cabin-like chamber to regenerate your energy, heal your wounds, and prepare yourselves for whatever lies ahead.

Afterwards, you ready your gear and strike back out into the strange hallway filled with its luminous moths and fireflies and covered in its myriad images. You decide to strike out to the right, and Byakko looks around in an attempt to judge cardinal directions, but such a task proves to be fruitless here within this strange extradimensional space.

You travel down the corridor for ten, twenty, fifty, eighty, one hundred feet before you finally see something that isn't repeated carvings. A door stands in the wall to your right, a heavy wooden one bearing a carved image of an inverted half-circle with a horizontal like across the top and a single extended arrow pointing downward in the center.

The hallway also continues forward out of sight.

Knowledge (arcana) or Linguistics (Geedra gets a +10 bonus for being a winter witch):
This magical symbol represents 'twilight.' The specific style marks it as related to witches of Iobaria, a distant land to the east, past the lands of Brevoy. This would track with Krosh's earlier rumination of boreal centaurs of the east.
