AH HA HA HAH! NOW I HAVE ULTIMATE POW...wait only six charges?
:(
only joking.
Nahia |
I think you got the wrong thread :D
No, just a typo. I should have said "Rose" instead of "Annara". Whoops.
Nahia |
Yeah, I was kinda thinking: Traveller T20 has undeads?? :O
Well, it can...
Hound |
All set here, what do others think of the 'Hahha! Your Lord was dead all along!' as the army rolls in plan?
Hound |
Hound avoids Rose while they wait for the army considering he ordered her armor to be abused.
Hound |
So who calls what on the plunder? I am interested in the breastplate +1 and Cloak of Resistance +1
DM Aku |
I think the party uses a very well defined loot system, where the items you get is deduced from your total money.
It was defined as such, in agreement with The Third Loyalty:
'The Third Loyalty is to their companions – the other Bound who serve alongside them. The Bound shall deal with each other fairly and honorably as long as doing so does not clash with their first or second loyalties. All treasure, wealth and reward garnered in their exploits will be equally shared with all of the Bound who aided in its acquisition.'
Check with Nahia about it.
Hound |
Kinda confused at the spreadsheet. Of course this can lead to all sorts of amusing abuses like Hound asking for something, getting it but getting scammed out of his coin share. ;)
Especially since Hound hasn't signed any contract.....
Lady Rose |
I'm not worried about magic item arguments. Different classes have different gear needs at different levels. Worrying about everyone having the exact same total gear costs is kinda silly.
My first priority when discussing who gets what is to shore up party weakness.
Will is the most important save. Hound has the lowest Will save, which means it makes sense that he should get the cloak.
DM Aku |
I'll update the gameplay thread in some hours, with the result of the four days.
I'll go with both suggestions, burning soldiers and un-dead desecrated lord.
Anyway, if you guys have other suggestion, please feel free to tell me.
Also, I'll put an 'end' to Fausto in the scene; since I don't want to keep it was npc for the next adventure arc.
Lady Rose |
My thought was to use the chapel instead of the barracks. It only has one door to jam (the barracks has three). It's also a natural place for big group prayer stuff, and an ideal shape for AoE blasts.
We could pre-treat the chapel with things like oil and lard beneath the pews and behind the tapestries, and maybe a big asmodean pentagram drawn in oil that would light up when we start with the burning. Then we gather them all in the chapel for a big group prayer with me in the middle and Mysty at the back.
Then I cut loose with a Fire Channel to light anyone who fails their save on fire (along with everything else in the room. Most objects have lousy saving throws), and Mysty tries out her handy new wand. It would probably only take one charge. Because of the dimensions of the chapel we should be able to blast the whole place. Anyone who didn't die in the blast would probably be on fire from my Channel. Anyone who's extremely lucky to survive all that would still be locked inside a burning building with Rose and Mysty.
The rest can wait outside in case we need backup. They can bring marshmallows and light the fireworks.
Mysty |
Rose, a thought. The chapel is consecrated. Wouldn't that give an anti paladin some issues. It might set off alarms and things if you go in there.
Lady Rose |
I asked you if I could change it during character generation for thematic purposes. I dropped Cold resist for it.

Consecrate won't effect me. I'm not undead. :)
I think you're thinking of Hallow, which is a way more heavy duty spell. That would effect me some, but it still wouldn't alert anyone unless Detect Evil is the additional effect tied to the location.
Not that Rose knows that. She doesn't care enough about Mitra's faith to worry about what walking into the chapel might do to her. She's arrogant like that.
She'll probably go in there at some point before the four days are up, so I guess we'll find out if they have some special alarm/detect evil effect when she does.

No real issue about it, it's just I was creating a Aasimar and then I was like this: Is there any alternative trait that gives fire res?
I looked at your crunch and there was nothing, so I thought maybe I was missing something. I was safer to ask :D
Lady Rose |
Not sure what class you're going with, but the aasimar paladin favored class option gives one point of energy resist of your choice, per level. By 6th level you could be immune to normal fire.
Lady Rose |
How many soldiers are left in the garrison?
Seren Little |
Seren only planning on Raising the Lord, she has seen how useless raising the common soldier is. Maybe some of the bugbears that she accidently kills when sakkarot attacks, but otherwise. No common soldiers being raised, just the Lord when the time is right. Her days would be filled with combing through the magister's belongings, Getting mysty's help when needed to open the locks on things, and then taking her mace to the various siege engines when no one is looking. Will write the epic raising of Lord Haverlyn over the weekend if we are ready for the assembly to start.
Lady Rose |
Forgot about the siege engines. We should definitely break them.
Maybe Mysty can perform a little permanent Disable Device on them?
DM Aku |
Im not counting days yet. Everything could have been done in the first day or so. If you want to do something, just post it and I will tie it up in the end.
@Seren I was going to finish things off this night. But I will stop after you gather the soldiers in the chapel, and let you guys finish it.

Cleric/Monk zen Archer.
But the favored bonus as you said is only for humans, and I've not taken the alternative racial as you.
Plain common aasimar :)

Mysty will disable every siege engine she can get to safely. Also if any of the acolytes roam by themselves, perhaps a little knife work? Also if most of the guards go into the chapel, we could shut the doors and I could wreak the lock shut, just as the attack happens. that way they would have to break the door down to get out. Then we could burn the chapel.

Sorry about being so quiet everyone. I always have to help prepare dinner for Thanksgiving, and it takes about 3 days to prepare all of the food. What I didn't know is that this year my family wanted us all to go out to the maintains during that time, so I didn't have internet access.
The good news is that I have stumbled upon what I believe is the best way to cook a turkey (or poultry) ever. Spatchcocking
I'll be catching up now, making a post, and filling out the loot spreadsheet, including everyones totals. So if you want something (I know Hound wanted the greatsword and the cloak), tell me.
- - - - -
Just to restate the loot system:
- Each character gets an even share, plus one share for the party fund.
- If someone wants an item from the loot, then they forfeit (or must pay) an amount of of their share equal to the saleable price of the item.
- The amount paid in is split evenly between every other share (including the party share).
- Example: Each of the 4 party members, and the party share, gets 5000 gold. Someone wants a found +1 armor (normally 1000 gold, saleable for 500) and a sound art statue worth 200 gold (saleable for 300, since it is a 'trade good/art object'). That means the player gets the stuff (and only 4200 gold) and pays in 300 gold to be split amongst everyone else (giving them each 5200).
Over all, I think it works out fairly well. And it keeps the party fund stocked for things like healing wands and Raise Dead costs.
In the past, we've also 'loaned' items and money to each other.
Lady Rose |
That's a very fair, if labor intensive system. The bean-counting is my least favorite part of the game, so I'll probably leave that math to others and just accept the share I'm given after all the claims are made on items.
Hound |
Ditto. I absolutely trust Rose to make sure Hound is well fed. :)
Hound is more than willing to take one for the team and experience the joys of Medium-Rare.
Nahia |
Luckily, I've put together spreadsheets that take care of most of it pretty easily.
DM Aku |
First of all. I would like to QUOTE something.
So prepare because I'm the bad guy.
Be prepared for me to do bad guys things.
Now with that behind us, I will wait until everyone has the chance to contribuite with the scene, before writing its conclusion.

Seren Little |
I'll try to write up my part today so we can get it finished and move on. Will try and find some time somewhere.
Lady Rose |
Well this should be fun. The channel save is 17.
For the record, I'm allowing myself to be caught in the effect too, and electing not to make the save.
Seren Little |
Sooo close. wish I could stack multiple false lifes on myself... this is going to hurt. but sooo worth it. Oh the laughing to be had as the common soldiers burn to death around me.
Aku forgot to add. Seren will immediately cast Create Water on herself after the channel. She may be a little crazy but she'll at least put out the fire on herself.
Lady Rose |
Good idea.
My plan is to keep channeling every round. Some of the soldiers are going to make their saves and some are going to put themselves out. Can't have that.
Nahia |
Not on my spell list either Rose, Sorry.
Perhaps Rose and Nahlia will celebrate on top of a mound of dead guards. ;)
O_O

Nothing quite like a sapphic atrocity to finish up an adventure.

I totally missed Hounds wink at the end the first time I read it, and got a Vlad-the-Impaler style 'feast amongst the corpses' kind of celebration in my head.
Started writing it up for later, reread Hounds comment, and chuckled.
Lady Rose |
I don't think the game is waiting on me. I stated my intentions. I think we're waiting on Aku to start making Will saves for the glowy thing and the soldiers.

I was not waiting on Rose.
Even tho I would be appreciated an actual gameplay post, not only an OOC commentary.I was giving Seren time to interact with the scene, before moving forward.
