Hey all -- I just wanted to apologize to all of you for disappearing from the game. You knew things were getting backed up back in September, but I never really did get my head above water. I started teaching at a new college this fall, and didn't take into account that I wouldn't have much mental energy (or whatever metaphor you want to use) left over. As such, I drifted from all the games I was in.

I hope the game is going well for all of you, and again I'm sorry to have just vanished.


Just a heads up: I currently have the stomach flu, so I am kinda in and out of consciousness. I am feeling better and should be able to pick up tomorrow.


All, I am putting this Campaign on hold until the New Year (5th January)...Tychi's player is unwell (he posted apologies in other games) and I think Major Luke Rand's player was sick as well. Then we'll be stuck in the Christmas rush...

So, rather than a 'step...go...stop...go' over the break...I will contrive / finish reuniting the party with a GM post before the New Year...that will take us on to the final section of the adventure...the titular 'Reborn Forge'.

...your Christmas homework shall be to level up to Level 14...

Have a problem with leveling up Nike.

Divine Bond is useless for her (she can't use a mount, obviously, and she can't use divine bond with natural weapons, due to how the power is worded).

So, would you object to making her a Hospitaler/Divine Defender? This would give her Divine Bond with her Armor, instead of a weapon, which is useful.

The down side, is it removes her Mercy's (although she's not used her Mercy so far, so it's not as if it would require a retcon to remove something she hasn't used).


Nike's levelling sounds fine to me...

...I was thinking you guys would post for following Metruni into her chambers as I thought you would still be wary of a trap or suchlike... There isn't a trap or anything like that though... So, I will (at some point over Christmas) post so etching that takes you to the end of the Karggat Mines and ready for the Reborn Forge itself

You mentioned that we could spend 80,000gp worth of loot -- the WBL difference between level 12 and level 14. What fraction of that can Figwidget spend? (Since he wasn't there the whole time, I won't be surprised if it's less.)


Figwidget can spend the entire amount... Figwidget should be a fully effective Level 14 before tackling the final section as a party of three...

Not sure how this is going to go forward at this point. :)

Tychi is under the impression the other two are using the river to sneak up on the main entrance, and is waiting for them to signal they are in position to attack. Nike's also under the same impression.

They have broken through the grating and are inside the fortress already, with Tychi having no way to know they've changed the plan. :)

Oh well, Tychi & Nike are used to working alone anyway.


If you trust nothing else, trust that you will know when it's time to come charging in =D

This is going out to all the games that I'm in currently:

So my work has me working 50-60 hours a week to keep up with all the work that I have been assigned, and this is probably going to persist for the next 3-6 months, until the end of our busy season. That being the case, I'm going to have to drop out of my current play-by-post commitments. I apologize if this inconveniences anyone, it was clearly not something that I was expecting to have happen, but I ultimately have to face facts.

Again, I apologize if this is a burden on anyone else.

So do we want to recruit a couple more players (it's still an okay point in the adventure to do so) or close it down? I'm happy to continue, in fact it could be a little better without the IC friction that was developing between Major Luke Rand (charging in style) and Tychi (strategic planning)...

I'd be fine to recruit some more and continue, I think continuing with just Tychi and Figwidget would be difficult.

However, if you don't mind, I'd suggest a 'retcon' to take us back to the city so we start out with people, rather than people magically turning up as we assault and Rand magically vanishing. :)

@Vrog - Sorry to hear your work is hitting so hard, my own job is hitting hard (temporary thing) so I sympathize.

I hear you on the hard work thing. The job I'm in (college physics professor) sometimes does that to me, and sometimes it comes on unexpectedly. That's why I drifted away in the fall.

I'd like to keep going. Just Tychi and Figwidget *would* be difficult, although we do have Nike with us as well :) I suppose you could give us NPC allies (e.g. suitable clockwork thingies that Figwidget made in his workshop) if you can't find other PCs. I don't know how hard it will be to recruit folks to come in halfway through the module. (Are we halfway through? Just guessing.)


Let's see if we can get a couple of replacements - Tychi's idea of ret-conning back to Alkenstar probably works best...

1. How commonplace are guns here?

Once I know that, I'll be able to purchase ammo at the proper cost. I totally bought it at the wrong cost and am going to have to redo that.

EDIT: I knew I was forgetting something.

Hit points. When you say, for example, 3.5, 4.5, whatever. Do we actually do, like, 3.5 or 4.5 x 13(which is the rest of our levels)? And not like half + 1?
