Sir Andreas der Eisfalke
Greeting to all,
I am giving some advanced noticed that I will be out of town for sometime on vacation. I will not have internet access for most of that time but will try to check in on the game when and if I am able to do so. Please bot me as needed.
The dates I will be out of town are June 13th till July 3rd.

Just asking here because it does seem we're moving at a relatively slow pace -- is everyone still having fun? Is there anything I can do to get things rolling? Just asking and no pressure, I am just hoping we can get into the exploration phases!
There is no problem with the pace. People are still roleplaying introductions to one another and you can't really rush that... or at least you don't want to.

I am posting this in all of my games:
I will be out of town on vacation from June 16 to ~July 2nd. I plan to have my laptop and phone but I am driving out to the Western United States to see the Tetons and Yellowstone (I live in Ohio). I hope to be able to do at least limited posting while driving from my phone and perhaps in the evenings at motels. But I hear that Yellowstone has dismal cell reception and the Cabin where I am staying will not have internet access. So while I will certainly post as much as possible, I would not expect a great deal of activity from me for that time. I apologize in advance and I fully advocate botting me as needed.
@Golwen: btw, we should swap some spells when we have a little down time. Nice thing about having multiple people with spell books
Certainly. Golwen would be more than happy to talk shop with another learned practitioner of the arcane arts.

I agree with this too. I'm trying to expedite as much as possible on my end. But am happy with taking some time RP for proper introductions (but am okay with expediency as well).

Hah, wow.
I grew up in Canton, went to College in Columbus, spent a few years in Missouri, and am now living in Wilmington (halfway between Columbus and Cincinnati).

Grew up Arkansas, moved to Missouri and went to college up in Kansas City for a while, went back to Arkansas, went into the Marines, went to 29 palms, then San Diego for a while....finally back to Missouri when I was medically retired.

I really enjoyed Missouri, I lived in Columbia while I was there. I only went to KC once (not counting driving through), but I enjoyed it. It's certainly someplace I would consider moving back to if I had a reason.

This is something I can't help but act like. I love kobolds personally. LOVE EM. They're adorable and funny.
I can't help but having any Good character I make to have a soft spot for the little idiots. I vote save em!
Maximillian Cantor
one of the major differences between them is kobolds tend to be lawful. both gobbos and kobolds are evil, but yeah, I have kind of a soft spot for them too. And we don't actually have to "help" them, just give them a fair shake. Goblins I have no compunctions about killing (my wife loves them, thinks of them like kindergartners with weapons)

Lol, I think every opportunity I can, I typically try to "enslave" the kobolds for their own good.
I say that word because while they have freedom, they know what happens when they disobey who they worship or work for...so in their eyes they're almost always slaves (They prefer to be so to Dragons more than anything but hey....beggers can't be choosers.)
Personally, I try to make them into farmers and hunters. Adorable little farmers and hunters.

Do the lines indicate that the goblins are uphill from the Kobolds?

Welp...at least hopefully my Inspire Courage is useful. Cause between weak damage and missing...I'm just gonna be over here doing what bards do best, singing and comic relief.
Maximillian Cantor
Is there a range on inspire courage? I always thought it was if you could see/hear the performance.
Most bardic performances are limited to 30'. Apparently, there is no range on inspire courage. It's just "must be able to perceive" the performance.
So I guess I can add +1 to my hit roll and +1 to damage :)| Ryker Grimes |
Azul, same here. I was fortunately able to draw a line on the map. Vicon probably hasn't gotten around to setting permissions yet. From my experience with roll20, you can give each token its own permission (which I think is a very handy feature!).

Good thing the game started immediately, I'm not sure how many more seconds we had until it turned into an arrow to the neck! ;)

I was going with I see your arrow and raise you a balista bolt...
I am out of the country for a long vacation. Bot as needed...good luck
I am out of the country and may not be able to post.

Honestly, I had plans to "use" the kobolds for the bandit fight if we could...just was not really wanted to lie but it felt the best way to work with them.
Ryker Grimes
*shrugs* Ryker wants results, not morals ;) If a lie gets us some allies, even temporary ones, so be it. Considering we probably aren't perceived as a bigger enemy than the goblins, it seems unlikely they would band together to takes us down or anything. Fighting goblins and kobolds is what Ryker would expect anyways :P

I have no compunction about using the kobolds. We DID just save them. We could even just have them create a distraction. Btw, I think Blackclaw is an individual, rather than a group. Besides, by tricking them, we are saving them again... from being killed by us :)

As a player I feel bad for using another character's intentions perversely. But as a Character, this is useful as helllll

Re: Translation...
I suppose you are right that if what the kobolds are saying is translated it is sound to assume players would be translating what you say for you, if somebody will vouch to translate for you that will be how it's handled hereforward. With the high roll for diplomacy and it not being clear somebody was faithfully translating I could not resist processing what you said as-is in common -- as it created a window for delicious misunderstandings.
Lets clarify that the party not only translates but that somebody is also an interpreter for other party members... because that's how I got confused.

Just an update, I've been roaming this whole trip and therefore have no data. So lack of posting up till now is going to come tinue as I will have no wifi either for much of the rest of the trip.
Azul Aros
FYI I'm going out to the country for the weekend (for my brother's wedding) and probably won't have net access. I should be back on track Monday.
