Kleth closes his eyes concentrating on his family heirloom and once more brings forth magical force to smite these foes!

Closing in carefully, Gavin circles around the creature fighting Oryx, allowing an advantageous approach against the foe. Trusting in his innate luck, Gavin lounges forward with a slash of his blade.

Oryx then comes around to take advantage of Gavins flanking and brings his staff ovehead to clock the creature.

Watching her companions swarm the creatures, Kyli felt like she needed to do the same. Moving to an advantageous position, she hefted her axe and then let it fall.

Round 2

Kyli strikes the creature with all her might but most of the strength behind her attack seems to be absorbed by the thing's skin. It turns towards her and lunges with the serrated sword in its hand but she parries its attack as it gets distracted by the impact of Kleth's magic.

Gavin's strike misses the creatures and Oryx dies too. A weird and foul smelling wormlike tongue appears in its mouth as it tries to slash at the dwarf and wounds his back.

Kleth's knowledge check:
Kleth identifies the creatures as Vermleks, demons with wormlike visage that use dead bodies as hosts and admit. They have the usual resistance to damage of demonic creatures that can be overcome by cold iron or good aligned weapons. They are also resistant to most energy damage and poison and physical damage. Their main weakness is the fact the bodies they possess are slow and clumsy under their control.
He also realises that the lack of light gives demonic creatures the advantage as they usually have darkvision

Oryx takes the hit then tries to return it with a wild swing of his quarterstaff.

Kleth casts Light on one of his torches and throws it towards the battle. It is not much but then there is not much to be done...

Free Action, pull torch, Standard Action cast light, Move action, throw the torch. I believe that works.

Gavin casts half an eye back toward Kleth. "Cold iron you say?!" Switching his short sword to his offhand, he draws his mace. While rarely used, it seems the perfect item for this occasion.

Gavin's attack hits the creature that turns hissing as the rotting head of the body it occupies explodes in a mist of blood and flesh and the wormlike tongue opens as a stinking bulbous purple flower, the thing is clearly hurt.

Angered by the elusiveness of her quarry. She growls and follows with a massive overheard chop, eliciting a grunt for her efforts.

Kyli's axe cuts through one of the arms of the creature and a foul viscous liquid exits thorugh the wound as the demon turns towards her and tries to stab her with his sword but Menrozzar's flail clashes with it protecting his friend.

The vermlek facing Gavin cuts deftly against the halfling striking his back, the bard feels a cold sensation where the serrated blade touched his skin.

Gritting his teeth, Menrozzar continues wailing on the vermlek in front of him with Kyli in the hopes they can kill the thing and then dog pile the second one.

Gratified that she finally connected, she came back with a vicious backhanded chop. She was not sure whether or not it was false confidence, but she just that one solid blow made it feel like the tide was turning.

Oryx grabs some stones from the floor and empowers them while behind one of his stone shields then backs away to make some distance between himself and the creature.

Standard action to cast Magic Stone, then move action to move 15ft away. Oryx's AC is 21 cos he was behind the stone shield when moving away if the guy wants to make an AoO on Oryx.

The wounded creatures cry in pain as the one facing Gavin says something to the other and they turn towards the halfling.

Not waiting for an invitation, Kyli attacked the things as it tried to move past her but she feared she was too hasty in her attack.

Menrozzar swings his flail at the thing as it goes to leave, not wanting to allow it to escape without killing it.

As the creature moves to strike Gavin both Kyli's axe and Menrozzar's flail strike it, with a huge cry the body seems to implode for a second and then from the chest burst a purple worm, almost as long as a human is tall. On the groun the clothes and armor cover the empty skin of what once was a man.

The creature gets behind the bard and tries to bite Gavin's neck but it's too slow. The other thing grabs his sword with both hands and tries to get advantage of the distraction but the archeologist is to swift for its slash.

Menrozzar charges directly at the one he's injured thus far, intent on killing it. As he does, he shouts, "Try to move out of their flank!"

Seeing Gavin harried by the foes, Kleth moves behind him and casts a spell to aid him against the demonic worm creatures.

Trying not to be completely surrounded by these horrid beasts, Gavin gives up his advantageous position against the creature heat beef been fighting by shifting slightly to the side.
