Iozif Vasile
Stepping forward, Iozif draws another stoppered vial and throws it into the room past Rommin at the fleeing wererat. "Is there another passage? They may have an ambush on the other side of this tunnel. If not, I may have a means of defense for you, Rommin."
Move action to get LOS to the standing/fleeing wererat in the room to the right, then a standard to throw at him.
Bomb attack with bless/PBS: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 23
Bomb damage wit PBS: 2d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 + 1 = 9

Gyllan kills the two wererats on the north side of the cave. He can see light, and hear noises, on the cracks on the north wall of the cave, but he thinks it would be very hard for him to fit there. he also thinks the wererats are too big to fit in, at least in their size he has seen them.
Corso, seeing that Gyllan killed the wererats north goes to the east and will one of the wererats there, his silvered dagger cutting deep and true, without magical resistance.
Immediately after Rommin press on and kills the next wererat, also making the best use of his silvered weapon.
Selina moves with them, ready to help.
A bomb flies past them and hit the wererat in the next cave. Iozif's bomb hits the last surviving wererat just before it flees north.
"They are coming! Help!"
Your turn!
Gyllan Dow
Gyllan hurries after the fleeing wererat, blade in hand.
Move action to get into next room (should get me right to where the dead wererat is), my next action this round will depend on what I see.
Rommin Hawkridge
Not now, not now. Rommin chides himself. Sweat beads on his face, but not from the effort of melee. He struggles to hold back the whispering spirits threatening to emerge from him.
Rommin calls ahead "We meant no harm! We really came to talk! Its not too late!"
Rommin will pause. If Iozif indicates he wants to follow through with a defensive measure he will let him. If Gyllan enters, Rommin will mirror his entrance (i.e. if Gyllan goes and follows to the left, Rommin will go in and circle to the right) to make sure the way is clear for the others.
Iozif Vasile
Iozif, seeing Rommin pause, deftly pulls a vial from his bandolier and hands it to him. "Drink it down and you should find your guard and ability to parry is heightened. Now, let's pursue Gyllan into the room."
Move action to retrieve my flask and a move action to hand my infusion to Rommin. Also, I believe Corso is still out until Wednesday.

You enter the room, and find it empty, as far as you can see.
There are sleeping quarters, and things stores and drop around, as this is some kind of barracks. Nothing that you feels need to be picked up or examined right now.
Rommin sees a crack in the south wall, a crack that probably would let somebody (human-sized) pass through, and after he takes a step on that direction a large horrible humanoid arm shoots out of it and reaches for him.
"Hunger!"
Surprised he makes a jump back, and the arm retracts back into the darkness.
Judging by the size, whatever creature is there can enter the cave, unless the crack is made bigger.
"Keep close to them! Flank them! Don't fear, we knew they were coming for us! Kill them!"
Gyllan Dow
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
Gyllan says, "Maybe we can feed a wererat to whatever is in there, calm it down a bit," before he spins and looks to the north. "Someone's coming for us! That way!" he warns the others. He sheathes his sword and draws his silver-headed mace, moving to hide behind a rock as he does so.
Move action to sheathe sword, move action to draw mace, 5-foot step NE to get behind rock and hide.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29

Whatever is on the south of the cavern is way to big to be a wererat. And uglier.
Gyllan Dow
If that info is directed at me, Corsario, that's not what I was suggesting. Gyllan realizes the thing in there isn't a wererat, but he also gets that it's hungry - so perhaps if we throw one of the dead wererats through the crack (or just in reach of the big arm), we'll satisfy the monster's hunger for a bit and not have to fight it while we fight whoever is coming from the north.
Corsario
|
Right! I misread that! You could try, a wererat body sure fits in the crack.
Rommin Hawkridge
With his flail at the ready, Rommin moves into the room and faces north, his back to a solid wall. With a stern look at whatever might be coming, he says "I'll be bait."
Move action 3 squares east, ready action to attack any foe that comes within reach.
If needed:
To hit with silver flail 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 8 - 2 + 1 = 13
Damage 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 6 + 1 = 14
Corsario

Rommin sees the north wall opens to a tunnel, but he is unable to see far into it.
On the south wall you hear the large creature hitting on the cavern wall, trying to enter it.
"Food! Hungry!"
We still need Iozif's action, and then you go again.
Iozif Vasile
Sorry, just been stuck working 10-11 hour days the last couple days.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Iozif enters the room, drawing his silver mace as he goes. He maintains a respectable distance from the worryingly hungry cave to his right. Heeding Gyllan's warning, he prepares for whatever attack emerges from the surrounding corridors.
Move into the room and next to Gyllan with move action and a standard action to ready to attack with my heavy mace vs. the first target that presents itself. What did Rommin do with my Shield extract, btw? If he doesn't take it/use it, I'll drink it instead of readying.
silver heavy mace readied attack roll with PA/bless: 1d20 + 8 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 - 1 + 1 = 21
silver heavy mace readied damage roll with PA/bless: 1d8 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 3 = 10

I'm sorry; I forgot. If its not too late to retcon, I'll drink it rather than ready an attack action. If you'd rather I not retcon that, then I'll leave it with Iozif to consume.
Corsario

You can drink it.
You assume positions, but no one comes from the north.
From the south the hits on the cavern make small pebbles come loose and fall into the ground.
"Hungry!
Gyllan Dow
Gyllan hooks his mace back on his belt and says, "Everyone keep an eye on that tunnel to the north. I'm going to see if I can do something about our friend in there, who only knows one word."
He grabs the nearest wererat body and pushes it toward the crack, keeping himself as far away from the reach of the massive arm as he can. "Hungry? Eat!" he says, keeping the conversation very simple.
Not sure if there are any bodies in this room or if they're all next door, so I don't know how many actions that will be. I'll do as much of it as I can - if I need to drag a body and pass it off to Rommin (or vice versa) so we can do the feeding in a single round, we could try that.
Corsario
|
Between you and Rommin (or another person) can get the body close enough in one round.
Also, the creature also said "Food".
Iozif Vasile
Iozif glances at Corso and Gyllan with a cocked eyebrow, but doesn't stay anything. He stays on guard, prepared to attack anyone who enters the room.
Still readying until we're done in here.
Corsario
|
Both Gyllan and Corso throw a wererat's body towards the south cave crack, and the large arm shoots out, grab it without letting it touch the ground, and pulls it into the darkness.
"Food!"
The sickening crunch of dead meat and broken bones reverberates in the cavern, while the creature eats.
"Good! More!"
From the north of the cavern you hear nothing, and nothing comes out to attack you.
Gyllan Dow
Gyllan listens to the crunching sounds of the wererat being eaten, then says, "Well, do we feed the beast, or take the fight to the wererats? I had hoped to sate this thing's hunger, but it seems that could take a while. Iozif, you have any idea what the thing we're feeding might be?"
Corsario - Any chance we can make a Knowledge check to figure out what it is?
Gang - it looks like the creature may just be in the main tunnel, around the corner, based on the map. We could go see it - if we really wanted to.
Iozif Vasile
Grimacing at the sound of the cracking bones, Iozif ponders Gyllan's question a moment before he answers.
1d20 ⇒ 5 +8 Arcana, +3 local, +9 Nature and +3 Religion to figure out what this thing is. :)
Gyllan Dow
I thought it might be an otyugh, and Gyllan, Iozif and Corso are all familiar with them from earlier encounters, so they should be able to recognize one. But they have tentacles, rather than arms, so I wasn't sure.
An idea occurs to Gyllan and he calls through the crack in the wall, "Stay right there, more food is coming." He draws his mace and says to the others, "Let's go after these ratlings before they put whatever plan they have into action. Everyone ready?"
He moves toward the narrow passage to the north, his ioun torch lighting the way.
Iozif Vasile
Iozif shrugs, "I'd have guessed an oytugh based on the shouting and the hunger, but I've never heard of one with an arm." He follows Gyllan's lead, drawing a bomb as he goes and keeping his morningstar close to hand.

Gyllan moves north, and sees that after the winding tunnel there is another cave.

Take 10 on Perception for a 25.
"They're waiting at the end of the hallway, hiding in the shadows on both sides," Gyllan whispers. "Let's end this. I'll take the right side."
He moves forward into the room and swings his mace in a powerful, two-handed grip at the first wererat he encounters.
Mace, Power Attack, FE: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 27
Damage, Power Attack, FE: 1d6 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 2 = 15
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 19
Crit damage: 1d6 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 2 = 17

Mace, Power Attack, FE: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 12

Rommin Hawkridge
With a glance back at Iozif and Selina, Rommin appears to be torn between guarding those he sees as more vulnerable and pressing the attack with Gyllan. In that instant, the spirits that haunt him burst forward from his body. His body stiffens as the white motes of light surround him and whirl about him like a cyclone. In that instant, the decision is made by the spirits; infused by new strength, he sprints after Gyllan, flail at the ready.
Beginning rage to add +4 morale bonus to strength.
He attacks the first ratman he comes across, pounding into it with his flail.
To hit 1d20 + 8 - 2 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 2 + 4 = 21
Damage 1d10 + 6 + 6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 6 + 6 = 24 Silver damage.
Also, slam attack vs. one foe (a weaker looking one, perhaps a rat or dire rat?).
To hit 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Damage 1d4 ⇒ 4 negative energy damage.
Iozif Vasile
Yea, I'm following per my last post with mace and bomb drawn. Wasn't going to specify attack actions until I saw what my opponents are. :)
Corsario

And we are back!
Gyllan advances bravely into the room, where two dire rats jump at him from the shadows. He quickly swings his mace to the first one, batting it out and splashing it to the cave wall, and keeps the momentum going to kill a second one that wasn't expecting such a quick attack.
His face changes from one of happyness to one of horror, as a swarm of hundreds of rats jumps on top of him and covers his figure, while he feels tens of hungry mouths trying to grab a piece of his meat!
Gyllan takes: 1d6 ⇒ 1 damage, plus needs to make a Fortitude DC 12 save or he becomes sick.
Gyllan can also make an attack of opportunity against the swarm before he gets attacked.
Rommin appears one second after, and uses his flail to swat the rats of Gyllan. He manages to disperse them!!!
In one round... wow! BTW: How did you calculate your damage?
Where do Corso want to move to attack?
You see there are two more dire rats in the room, two more wererats, and a big mean wererat at the end, screaming.
"Kill them! Kill them all!"
Selina and Iozif can also act.
Rommin Hawkridge

I think you are counting the rage increase twice, as your "normal" STR bonus is "only" +4.
Am I mistaken?
Gyllan tries to hit the swarm as he gets attacked, but misses the bulk of the tiny rats. Good think Rommin disperses them a second later.
Do Corso attack a Dire Rat or goes to the Wererat, causing AoO from the Dire Rats?
Iozif Vasile
Seeing few ways for him to push into the room, Iozif instead steps forward and with a careful flick of his wrist, he tosses one of his bombs at the giant rats menacing Gyllan.
bomb attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 1 = 26 vs touch and including PBS
bomb damage: 2d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6) + 2 + 1 = 10 blast is 5 with DC 14 reflex for half
Tossing at the one nearer the wererat, so blast shouldn't hit any one of us.
Corsario

The bomb blasts both dire rats away, while burning the wererat.
"Argh!"
It is hurt but alive.
Selina's action, and then the surviving enemies.

Wererat. He's got his images to take care of pesky AoO :)
