The Phoebee will pet the lioness.

Traveling in the hallway, there are 4 paths you can take, though the one at the end of the hallway seems to have a faint blue glow emminating from it
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
as stated, we stopped at the first hallway/path and looked left.
Phoebee
|
This reminds me a bit of the place where I just came from in Irrisen where we looked for a Skykey key and fought that creepy dwarven revenant. I hope we don't find one of those here. she whispers.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
|
"Well, let's take a look around, and then move on!"
Z'hor'll starts thinking... and jots down some notes. "Let's set up a marching order... single file seems appropriate, and some standard procedures. I have heard many adventuring groups do this.
"My suggestion would be that our order be Lizbeth at the front, followed by Lyrio and his cat, then Kern, Phoebee, Guy, and I can take up the rear. If we're lining up behind a door, then line up in that order in pair... just to make it easier.
"When we enter a room, we'll scan through the room, moving around the edges, every other person going left or right. Then, we'll check the next door."
Everyone all right with that order?
"So, nothing to see in this room, I guess... so let's keep going to the left... seems like that's what all adventurers do these days. "
Moving us up... pushing a little
Phoebee

Maybe there is a booby trap or a secret door here though. says the bard as she looks around

the order is fine with me.
Kern follows along.
Guy du Loc
|
Onward and downward!
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
Kern takes two acids and 2 alchemist's fires.
"nice Phoebee! anyone mind if i take an antiplague? Perhaps Lizbeth and lyrio take the antitoxins and everyone 2 fires and acids."
GM Sapphire Fox
|
Into the next room:
A charred orc corpse hanging over a pool of blood accentuates the grisly atmosphere in this befouled shrine.
When the Rotten Tongue orc clan settled here, they
desecrated this sanctuary to Torag and rededicated it to
Nulgreth, the orc god of bloodlust and fighting. Broken
implements of bloodletting and torture lie on the
bloodstained stone alter.

Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x

Z'hor'll also takes two acids and two alchemists fire. "I think each of us should take two each. That way, we know we all have some!" He then looks at Lyrio, "I don't think your kitty can use any, though. Anyone mind if I drink an antitoxin and antiplague?"
Lyrio
|
That's fine for me. Yes, Radagosa doesn't have opposed fingers... Yet! - laughs the half-orc, as he approaches the body within the shrine and starts checking the environment around.

'Lizbeth'
|
Shrugging as they move through the room, Lizbeth pockets a few of the flasks and takes the anti-toxin, swirling it around before ingesting its contents with a grimace at the vile taste. Pocketing the empty vial should they need one she presses into the next room and examines the strange implements haphazardly abandoned here.
"Hmm, this place is a mess, anyone know much of this Orcish god of bloodletting? Sounds barbaric!" they say absent-mindedly as the group examines the place. "Hey Lyrio, would Radagosa like some added protection?"
If desire, Lizbeth brings forth her Wand of Mage Armour and taps the Lioness on the nose with a smile, coating them in the same transluscent armour of the Eagle Knights.
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug

knowledge(whichever works), take 10, heightened awareness: 10 + 8 + 2 = 20
Kern considers the query carefully while applying the antiplague.
Lyrio
|
Oh, no need. Thanks, dear. Extra protection is always useful, but in the armor matter she should be comfortable already with her masterwork chain shirt. - replied the druid towards Lizbeth.
Guy du Loc
|
Guy lines up and takes 2 fires and acids when his turn comes.
"They probably ran into a trap while they were messing with things. That would explain why that orc was able to drag itself out. Living opponents would not have allowed that."
And undead opponents would definitely not allowed that.
GM Sapphire Fox

Phoebee and the lion notice something that glitters on the altar, if its retrieved it appears as a magical kukri with a bloodstone handle worth 2704 gold
As for the knowledge, you feel this room the victims were volunteering to be sacrifices instead of being tortured and forced
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
Kern will pick up the knife attempt to identify the Kukri..
SpellCraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
|
"Hey, Phoebee! I just had a thought." blurts out Z'hor'll. "You know that ability to inspire confidence outside of battle most bards learn? Well, I can't do that. I water-sing instead. Maybe you could use some of your performances to help our friends do things better, and I can use more of mine to make them fight better!"
He looks at the kukri, "Hey, that's a nice looking weapon. Why am I saying 'Hey' all time? There aren't any horses here that I know of!"
'Lizbeth'
|
Lizbeth shakes their head in disbelief as the signs of the place seems to have been willing sacrifice to a bloodthirsty god of war. "Well, it would seem at least one Orc thought better of being a sacrifice, unless their ritual brought something else entirely..." She says distractedly as Kurgen examines an odd curved knife.
"Sure it is a nice one, not for me though. Right! Looks like we won't gain much more from here, we should press on!"
Back to moving carefully, Lizbeth starts to move on to the next chamber.
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
Seeing no one show interest in using the magical Kukri, Kern pockets it away for the Society.
He then follows Lizbeth to the next room.
Lyrio
|
Lyrio follows along in silence with Radagosa, after the lioness helps detect the weapon.
Guy du Loc
|
Guy is certainly not interested in the weapon, other than for historical purposes. Stuff it by all means.
Phoebee
|
Yeech, these orcs just make big messes here says the bard.
Let me take a look at my inspire ability, I think I just got it at 3rd level
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
|
Z'hor'll moves over to the grisly markers, and takes some good looks at them. "Well, it is certain that these orcs have some sort of penile fetish or something. I think that they've got the proportions all out of whack... I mean, how would you walk like that?"
He considers "correcting" the anatomy of the etchings, but decides not to.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
He then attempts to use prestidigitation to clean the orc's filth from the walls, so that he can see the dwarvish carvings underneath.
'Lizbeth'
|
"Lovely..." sighs Lizbeth, her tone dripping in sarcasm as they look through the badly desecrated chamber. This place was really putting the Pirate on edge with it's silence in face of the sheer violence that must have taken place here. The quicker they could succeed with their mission and got out of here the better in her opinion.
"What does this all mean do you think? Was it planned or just rando acts?" she asks the more academically gifted amongst them.
Phoebee
|
Perhaps the orcs came here to ransack, pillage and rape and commit other acts of random meanness and they found more than they could handle. says the bard. Oh, that reminds me about a song I could use here
Phoebee
|
Maybe 'Lizabeth can use the potion? It might improve her breath states the bard.
Guy du Loc
|
Guy busies himself scribbling notes and taking rubbing or making drawings. He's particularly interested in the dwarven implements. He's in no hurry to move on as long as he is academically engaged, but dutifully follows if the party makes to move.
"Amazing find. Just lying there on the floor. The orcs should be ashamed of themselves, but of course they're not. Even if they had no good reason to defile, they would for the pure joy of it. It's their nature from what I hear. Never met one myself. Alive that is."
"I wouldn't mind that fire breath potion. My offensive capabilities are pretty insignificant and the potion will almost certain exceed the damage output of my feeble fire bolt ability."
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
|
"Guy, you should really get some armor, or something. You look a little... unprotected. If you really want it, sure, though I was kind of thinking it would make for a great punchline!" quips Z'hor'll.
Phoebee
|
The bard will inquire Guy, do you know Masym? He is a good friend of mine and is also a cleric of the Dawnflower. Me, I love Shelyn and all the beauty that she brings to the world.
Guy du Loc
|
Guys face twists up at the mention of armor.
"You know, I was a good little cleric for about a year. I carried around a sparkly scimitar that earned me no end of teasing, and an itchy breastplate that kept trying to squeeze me to death. NO THANKS. Me and Sarenrae have come to a little understanding. I trust in her to protect me and she grants me a few extra powers. You won't find me in another sweat suit ever again. A Wand of Mage armor wouldn't be out of the question though, but I can't cast the spell."
It was quite a sight before he became an Ecclesitheurge to see him dashing about with his way-too-loose breastplate swinging all over the place. I love that retrain before level 2 rule! Not sure if he's met Masym before so I'm not sure how to answer that.
Lyrio
|
Hmm... There is definitely more to a combat than not being hit. And we're all, always bargaining for other powers. - says the druid, emphasizing the bargaining part - Sarenrae knows what She does, I guess. I will protect you, cleric.
Phoebee
|
I didn't have much better armor than this when I slayed the white dragon adds the bard. Good defense can be a great offense
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
Kern sighs at the delay "hand me you're pearl and i will cast it.... you have a pearl of power right? Ugh...."
assuming guy doesn't have one
Kern pulls a pearl of his own and casts mage armor on Guy. "let's get on with this"
Guy du Loc
|
"Been meaning to get one. If we have time, I have the cash. Until then I'll just stay away from trouble..."
But just as he finishes saying this, Kern casts the spell anyway. Guy pokes himself and says
"Nice! I'm definitely going to have to get me one of those pearls. Or a wand. but either way I'll need a friend like you for it to do me much good."
Phoebee
|
Mr. Guy du Loc, have a wish or two or three. I'm on the job you big nabob, you ain't ever had a friend like me the bard sings.
Guy du Loc
|
"The more friends the better, I say."
Kern, Apprentice of Karzoug
|
added arrow to next room
Kern pushes on as the party banters playfully.
Z'hor'll B'bblebr'x
|
"What's up there, Kern? Anything neat? Anything that needs inspiration to handle? Or, perhaps, a giant cube of jelly, and we are just out of toast?" Z'hor'll asks, unable to stand a silence for a moment.
Guy du Loc
|
On to the next room as indicated by the arrow.
