”Nice try,” he says. ”Don't think I’m serious? Tessa! Show them!”

An arrow from somewhere ahead of you goes rattling across the pavement near your feet.

”Next time she aims a bit higher. Now what’ll it be?”

Res pulls out his greatsword with a flourish and brandishes it at the man. "My companion is too polite. I'm itching for a fight and you've arrived just in time. Drop your weapons and flee now, or this will be your last minutes in this godforsaken land!" He takes a half step forward toward the man menacingly.

Volidrian goes first, followed by the wereboars.

Dr Tovanarish readies his crossbow and begins chanting. A glowing sword begins to appear before him Spiritual Weapon

Creatures beyond 25 feet will have concealment due to the fog (50% miss chance), but Volidrian's shot will be fine since they are in the light.

Volidrian's arrow strikes the hulking wereboar. He cries out, and arrows come flying through the fog as promised from somewhere in front of you. One arrow comes flying at Leandro, and another at Irikar.

In the heat of the battle, a female voice from ahead of you gives an agonizing wail. "Something's... Something is here!" she calls out weakly.

"Brought friends, did you?" the face of the bandits sneers. "We will finish them, too."

Same here; I can't edit the map. I asked for permission. Res will move into the square opposite where Tybalt was standing.

Res winces with each strike but then sneers, "Is that all you got?" He takes a five-foot step into a flank with Tybalt. He touches the holy symbol on his armor and chants, "Fierce Gorum! Okay. I see the problem. Map should now be fixed. You should be able to reposition yourselves accordingly. And Irikar, I am okay with you adjusting your starting position by 5 feet.

Irikar steps back around the well and sighs, "I guess we're doing this, then," he mutters as electricity begins to arc around him. He draws back his hand and pushes it out toward the raging wereboar that attacked Leandro, hurling a bolt of lightning at it.

Volidrian, are your arrows, by any chance, silver? I will give you the benefit of the inspire courage, which means your third arrow hits, but DR might be an issue. Even if they happen to be silver, that is not enough damage to bring him down, so I am going to proceed with the round - but I want to make sure I record it correctly.

Irikar's blast of electricity gives the wereboar a powerful jolt, and Dr. Tovanarish's ghostly sword cuts at it deeply. (Both of those attacks seem to work just fine on these foes.)

Dr. Tovanarish - you did not win initiative, so your spiritual weapon standard action did not occur until this round. Your spiritual weapon attack would apply, but you do not have an opportunity to fire your crossbow this round because you already used your standard action.

You have fought enough lycanthropes at this point (or at least some of you have) that you would recognize certain high-level observations without a check: that these appear to be lycanthropes, that they have boar-like features in hybrid form, that lycanthropy spreads via bite, that attacks vs lycanthropes work best with silver. Any more than that will require a Knowledge (Local) check.

Volidrian and Res both land solid hits upon the bandit leader, but their blades do not wound him as thoroughly as they would have an ordinary creature. (Still a fair amount of damage got through their DR.)

Dr Tovanarish is up. I will bot him later today if he does not post first.

I'm confused. I thought the leader was on Leandro, and Volidrian and Res were attacking one of the rogues.

Leandro wrote:

Ah. I guess it depends on what you call a "leader". The "mouth" of the bandits who did most of the talking is one of the rogues, and that is who Volidrian and Res are attacking. There is a second rogue setting up flanks and making Res hurt. They had a "heavy hitter" behind them - the raging barbarian with the bastard sword - and that is who charged at Leandro at the beginning.

I just realized I don't actually need to bot Dr. Tovanarish this round, since his previous round included both spiritual weapon (which hit) and a full attack with his crossbow (which I said would occur the following round). I will use his crossbow rolls, but will make a new attack for the spiritual weapon which is still active.

Dr Tovanarish's spiritual weapon strikes again at the heavy hitter.

He fires two crossbow bolts at him as well. One of them hits, but the damage is mitigated by the lycanthrope's natural resistances.

A dark shadow emerges from the fog behind the wereboar archer. Its shape is roughly humanoid, but it is little more than roiling darkness with two flickering pinpoints of light where eyes should be. It reaches out with its long thin fingers at the terrified lycanthrope.

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 vs touch

The archer lets out a wail as some of his life force is drained by the dark figure. Trembling, he steps back and fires an arrow at it.

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

But his arrow merely passes through the incorporeal creature.

When the two roguish wereboars see this new assailant, their manner changes, and fear is plain in their expressions. The unscathed wereboar turns and runs to the side, eager to get away from this new presence and from all of you.

"Don't leave me here!" the mouthpiece of the party yells out. He steps to the side and jabs at Volidrian.
