I may be a little slow posting for the next few days as I travel to and from Minnesota for Thanksgiving. If you find, Res holding things up, feel free to post an action for him to keep things going.

Thanks for the update, Tordek!

For the party, I'll use Northern Andoran as the assumed location of origin. (We haven't heard from Jeremy, but it seems to work for Urdrin as well, since that's not far from dwarven territory.)

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

I added guidelines for creating new and replacement characters in the campaign info area. Feel free to read them and tell me what you think.

Human

Simple and flexible. I like.

Male Human Ranger (Skirmisher) 6; AC 21; touch 13; ff 18. HP: 59/59. Fort +6; Ref +8; Will +6

Looks good CH. Simple and to the point, and I think it is good to give some different background options (while still having a motivation that leads to the same ultimate goal).

I've also started keeping an alphabetized list of NPCs, for my reference and yours, on the campaign info page. It's pretty much every NPC you've ever met who has a name.

Very cool idea. I will definitely be stealing it for my campaign. Also, I like the character creation guide, enough detail to fit people into the story but broad enough to not stifle creativity.

I'm concerned that we seem to be dragging. Is it the holiday season that's keeping folks busy? Is there something we need to change up?

Shadow Lodge

Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/2

Can't speak for the others but I've been very busy at work so I haven't been able to post as much. Nothing wrong with the campaign in my opinion. (Case in point, I have to work a 12 hour shift today.)

Guys, very sorry for my unexpected absence of the past few days, things have been very busy here and I’ve also had some computer issues at home. Will try to catch up (perhaps slowly) over the next day or two.

Human

Campaign is good and enjoying it a lot.

It's been busy pre-Christmas as well. Just to give advance warning, may not be able to post between 28 Dec - 4 Jan as I'll be away and may not have internet.

Yeah, pretty much the same as these guys. That and my mind is not in a right place with the past week being what it was.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

It happens! Fortunately, we're in an RP/investigative phase, so people can just post as they can. I anticipate things will progress very slowly between now and the new year, and that's fine.

Human

By the way, Nayce is free to go any time he wants. With apologies for threadjack.

My crazy, last minute work deadline is now done (well, just about), so the next couple of days should be ok for me game wise. I’m on holidays from the 24th to the 8th, hopefully my connection issues at home have been resolved now so I should be able to check the thread and post every two days or so if things are going.

I have noticed a slow down in the game in the last two to three weeks – I am guessing it is mainly last minute busyness in the lead up to Christmas. I am certainly still into it.

For me it's been holidays and...personal stuff. Working my way through it.

Human

Back. Catching up. No internet and delayed flight.

Shadow Lodge

Male Husband/10 Dad/10 Gamer/5 RPGer/2

Welcome back Rev - hope you had a great holiday! (I see you have a new blog post but I haven't had the chance read it.)

Human

Mixed blessings on the holiday front.

Very glad to be back, but there were some very good bits.

Where did you go to Rev?

I am back at work today after two weeks off. We didn't go away but managed to be extremely busy anyway.

Human

Cyprus to visit my mother in law. It's an interesting island but most of it was closed over New Year :)

I'm curious for your observations, Mothman. Is it the idea of seeing oddities in a world full of all sorts of strange creatures?

I imagine people in a world like Ravenloft to still have a morbid curiosity about what's "different" that they normally cannot indulge because of the inherent danger. I could see an appeal to being able to do so from a place of safety.

(If by "safety" one refers to a carnival that is spreading a plague.)

Liberty's Edge

Male Mothman Expert 5

Oh, I didn’t mean it didn’t make sense for the campaign world – I very much think it does. Even in a typical fantasy setting with lots of magical creatures roaming around, I think there would be a market for freak shows, the common person probably isn’t going to get to see a lot of the weird and wonderful, particularly in a safe setting, and that goes doubly for Ravenloft. Plus there is a certain horrific element to the freak show that puts it right at home in Ravenloft.

No I meant ‘doesn’t make sense In Character’ for Nathaniel specifically – I see him as a generally kind hearted fellow who would feel bad and / or ashamed at gawking at people less genetically fortunate than himself, and therefore wouldn’t suggest such a visit. But he’ll tag along.

Sorry everyone - it has been a crazy week as wrapped up my old job. OwlCon game convention today at Rice University and then I should be able to be back posting by Monday.

By the way, are any of you afraid of clowns? I kind of hope the answer is yes.

Congratulations, you've found a clown phobic among your players :)

I hate clowns. Them and brussel sprouts are my only fears.

I kill both on sight.

And yes, Moorluck CAN kill on sight. :P

You do that and I'll make the wife beat you with her chest. :P

Brussel sprouts rouse no fear in me. Sprouting broccoli now, that's a scary vegetable. Have you seen how fast that stuff grows?

Sovereign Court

I hate the leaves on broccoli. They're pale and eaten by bugs. It's a zombie plant!

Mostly I have a phobia of large leaves, though. I know, it's pretty stupid...

I wish I could cast googly eyes on some of the more hideous creatures we have encountered. Then they wouldn't be so frightening :D

My access has been a bit spotty over the past several days, and may continue to be so for the rest of the week. I will have limited or no internet access on Friday and for some of the weekend. Hopefully things will be back to normal after that.

I hate to be the one to ask the question, but Fatespinner, Jeremy, are you guys still into the game here? I know that both of you have things going on in real life that are likely making it difficult to find either the time, opportunity or inclination to post to the game, but I know you’ve managed to post elsewhere in the last week or two, this game seems to keep getting neglected. We had a post from Erfan near the beginning of this fight, so I accept that maybe Fate you just missed this one in your update the other day. We haven’t had a post from Urdrin for over a month.

I don’t want to be the a$@~!#@, but I think we’re at the point where we need to know whether or not you want to continue with the game. If you just need some more time to sort things out or get your head back into things, that’s cool, we’ll know to run Erfan and Urdrin if things are dragging in the meantime. If, on the other hand, you don’t think you have the time or inclination to continue with the game for the foreseeable future that’s cool too, I don’t think anyone will hold it against you, but can you let us know so that as a group we can figure out how to deal with it?

I hope this didn’t come across as too harsh, I just want to know where we are headed. If there’s anything I can help with, let me know.

Silver Crusade

Male Celestial Cleric of Myself 10/Radiant Servant of Me 10

Thank you, Mothman.

I have definitely noticed the lack of posts, and I do think it is tending to slow things down. Basically, if anyone is not "into it" anymore, or just feels that they do not have the time to check in on the game regularly, please let me know. I know things come up, and take no offense to it, but by letting me know I could open up a spot for someone else who might want to join.

Anyone in that situation could also PM me if you have concerns or just don't think you can commit the time anymore.

There is some interesting stuff ahead of you in the game, and I want to keep things moving along.
