I added her token to Roll20. Here's her entrance, which got somewhat overlooked by me in the escape plans.

This elegantly armored woman stands alert, her eyes radiating divine light and her noble blade crackling with power. She gives a slight nod in greeting, "Well met, protector of the light. I am Lumina."

Valgrim's first three attacks strike home and wreak terrible damage on the avolakia's slimy pale-gray body. (230 damage total+43 from last action=273 total) The evil thing shrieks and crumples to the ground!

Mahuudril advances and asks the acolyte preceeding her to seal off the passageway with a wall of stone, which he does. She gives the ranger a wicked smirk and once again 'suggests' he just defend himself. Her form distorts and bulges out into the obscene form of the worm-like avolakia just after her request. Meanwhile, the derro reappears through a dimension door riding the wyvern, Zyrith. The draconic creature lashes out at the trapped dwarf.

With the Wall of Stone in place, you don't have line of sight or line of effect on Venk when he appears. Or so it would appear. If you have another fire snake, I might be dropping you in the perfect spot to warm everybody's toes, though.

Okay, this is how this is going to play out.
Valgrim will roll Will save and fail: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30 so he will plan to go full-defense on his turn.
On his turn, Bubba will dimension door in, still playing countersong, so Valgrim gets another save where he has to use the bard's Perform Check as his save: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (10) + 33 = 43...success!
Then Valgrim's turn is up as he shakes off Mahuudril's suggestion.

Yes, that sounds good Valgrim. I moved you all to the top of the stairs following Bub's casting of d-door. Go ahead and finish your actions. Alie, you can unleash your dimensional anchor on the derro as soon as you come through the d-door. FYI, I believe Fire Snake spells (if you choose to cast them) are costing you 7th level slots now as you are out of 5 and 6th level slots (by my count, but correct me if I am wrong).

P.S. Bublaka: I put you on the landing for two reasons. 1st, you didn't really know exactly where she was in the first place, so why would you avoid her. And secondly, you need to be that close to have Valgrim within your countersong effect, which makes sense that you would want. Hope that works/makes sense. On the other hand, you may not want to be that close to her, so feel free to move yourself further up the stairs if you wish.

Hmmmm, I was looking at map. GM, can Valgrim take a 5' step diagonally to full attack Mahuudril? I ask because there is the corner there and some GMs have issues about that. If he cannot, he may need to rethink his action.

Hmmm, I have been checking the posts daily and both Valgrim's and Alie's Sunday posts did not show up in the thread for me til today. Very odd. Moving on, the answer to your question is thus: You can't move diagonally past a corner (even by taking a 5-foot step). You can move diagonally past a creature, even an opponent. That was taken directly from the d20pfsrd.

Flames snake through the hallway catching all in their coils. The scorched body of the fallen acolyte sizzles and ceases to twitch. The other still standing acolyte shrugs off the flames for the most part but Lumina's light rays bring him down to a knee. Helpless he manages to support himself enough with one arm and looks up to give Valgrim a defiant hate-filled glare. You can't help to notice, now that she is close and in full view, that Mahuudril's form is ghostly and the flames have much less effect on her. It reminds you of the effect that N'Vesh N'kar the Urlgurstasta had on itself. The wyvern lashes out viciously now that it's prey has come into full view. It cathces Valgrim squarely twice with it's stinger...

I got Wall of Stone'd so my spell didn't go off, unfortunately as I recall.


Bublaka: Alie is correct in that her dimensional anchor never had a target. The derro came back with the wyvern in tow, into the well chamber. This was out of line of sight from where you all were cloistered in the small side chamber. In addition the wall of stone got put up. I did mention that Alie was welcome to cast it immediately upon exiting your d-door but it was to be a flame snake next instead. Hope that helps clarify things.

Sorry for the delay. Had one of those weekends where nothing got accomplished other than hanging with some buddies. Valgrim hasn't led me astray yet, so I've got his back here.

Alie listens to her dwarven friend, trying to help with the odds. She targets the wyvern with a Maze spell, hoping it would take the full ten minutes for it to recover from the magical trap.

Ah, you know I also remember them being a dwarven subspecies. Pathfinder describes them as decended from fey. Weird, wonder why they changed it. Derro it is.

FYI: The light rays are weird "untyped" damage allowing them to bypass resistances. As such they won't permenantly kill the acolyte.

The acolyte screams and collapses unmoving as the light strikes him. Mahuudril almost dodges both rays directed at her but one manages to just graze her. (Touch AC 28)

Even off-kilter as she is, the little derro proves to be both quick and has a hide about as tough as Valgrim's own. Still the ranger manages to get a really good slash across the little woman's side. Despite the wounds she has taken she still appears to have quite a bit of fight left in her.

AC 39. 79 damage total from attack this round. 79+44+22=145 damage total.

Using persistent and maximized equations to enhance her spell, Alie targets the no good boss for her most favorite Ray spell, Disintegration. She keeps a tight grasp on her Piercing Rod to try to cut through any magical defenses.

By my calculations, with Spell Perfection, that's an 8th level spell. If my 8's are gone, I'll use a 9th level spell to cast it.

The worm-like monstrosity reacts to Alie's arcane words by ducking low, causing Lumina to be in the line of fire. The ray narrowly misses Mahuudril's sickly glistening back.

Even debuffed, her touch AC is better than a 22. I think Bub is countersonging at the moment. Bub any bonuses? Shadowbard still providing Inspire Courage?
