Intense waves of flame engulf the chamber! The smell of cooking worm-flesh is nauseating but a good sign that the fire spell struck true. One of the frost worms lets out a keen and collapses but still twitches and shudders, not quite dead.

Valgrim is up.

I am confused about the worms. You say the drake is 40' above the other worms. 40' from the worms standing up? Does that mean if I attack the drake at its head the other worms can't reach me? I need to know how long the worms are and if they can all reach me at the wormdrake's head?

I only said the wormdrake was 40' feet long in the description and that it was hovering directly over the purple worms. To clarify, it is hovering 20' above the ground just above the purple worms that are 20' high themselves. This actually puts it's base 10' feet below your level since your currently up on a ledge 30' feet above the floor (so if you gain 10' feet elevation and go straight out you will be above it). The purple worms have a 15' foot reach so as long as you stay above the wormdrake and close to the wall opposite the ledges you should be safe from them. The purple worms are capable of reaching all the way up to 55' feet once they comes up on the highest ledge, so they could reach you unless you stay against the wall toward the southeastern section of the chamber. Hope that helps, I know it's a confusing situation. Continue to ask me to clarify anything you have questions about.

EDIT: If you would again each be kind enough to provide your current AC's and CMD's it would be greatly appreciated.

Alie, did your DC for the fire snake include the bonus from my arcane concordance? Hmm, looking at the map, never mind, you're too far from me for the effect to apply.

The arcane concordance powers the extended feature of those spells - my available spell count should be accurate for comparison.

Can I use a move or standard action to do something that is normally a swift action? I want to use an immediate action to cast saving finale on Alie, then restart my bardic performance on my turn.

Bublaka: After some research I would have to say no. The reasoning is there are plenty of swift actions people would love to stack up if they could. I guess think of it more as using your mental bank of concentration than time. Under the swift action rules it says you only can do one per turn.

Male Dwarf Ranger 16/Barbarian 2/Fighter 2/Champion 2 HP: 334/334; AC:34/15/30; F +31 (+33); R +22; W +16 (+18); Init: +11 (+17); Percep: +27 (+29); Hero Points: 5/5; Mythic Power: 7/7; Rage: 14/14

I disagree with the spirit of the ruling, but understand the interpretation; that's why I asked. Thankfully, Valgrim knows my abilities better than I do.

Bublaka casts saving finale on Alie.

I need to get back to my computer to determine my move and standard actions. Valgrim, should I be doing the song note, do you think? Moving up to give Alie the save bonus seems reasonable.

Bublaka: Totally understand. Do I think what you are trying to do is broken in anyway? Not at all. If it weren't setting a larger precedent I would totally allow it. An example would be, you probably don't want something like the acolytes using their "suggest" ability on 3 people a round because it is a swift supernatural ability. Stuff like that caused me to lean the way of no on this one.

HP 223/223, 0 temp; AC 27, T19, FF 21, additional +2 vs undead foes, DR 2/- vs undead; 47/52 rds BP; 5/7 MP; CMD 39 (41 vs trip); 1st6,2nd6,3rd5,4th3,5th2,6th4

One could suggest that having that particular supernatural ability is broken in a different way if it is a swift, but we're all good here.

When the sorcerer is engulfed in the explosion of cold, Bublaka uses the energy of his bardic performance to power a quick spell to stop time in hopes that she can react to the onslaught before it strikes her. Actually, this happens before my turn, so maybe I have my swift for my new turn available, anyway... Immediate/swift action

Moving forward, he brings her within the aura of blue and gold that he hopes will give her magic additional strength before casting a spell at the drake. Move

A small pale blue female humanoid with bulging white eyes, wild hair, four-fingered hands, carrying a adamantine trident that crackles with electricity pushes through the worm-doorway that Valgrim can see below him on the balcony. Oh, Bubba!

Valgrim hunkers down behind the wormdrakes bulk to avoid the blast but Ferez and Alie dive behind the bard letting him take the blast. Lol, not really ;) but Bublaka takes 82 damage.

The worms of the far door on the balcony bulge and part to reveal the elegantly dressed Mahuudril, she smirks at Valgrim and says, "Come here now, leave that poor poor dragon alone and deal with me. I am a far greater threat." She readies a spell.

Only Valgrim and Alie can see the invisible woman.

Valgrim, go ahead and make a will save versus her suggestion please.

It's Alie's action.

DM, how many opponents are left? The woman and the dragon...is that it for now?

Sort of, right now there are three: Mahuudril, the dragon, and the derro. But you can only see Mahuudril and the dragon from your current position. Can you get into Roll20? You can see their positions there.

Alie couldn't let the worm lady distract Valgrim from the dragon. He was heir only hope in wearing it down. She had to try to eliminate the sorceress. She cast her favorite spell and a green bean of light headed for the worm spellcaster.

Cast Persistent Disintegrate. Two DC 35 Fort saves or take 40d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6, 6, 3, 6, 4, 4, 1, 4, 6, 1, 2, 6, 2, 2, 2, 5, 6, 3, 1, 1, 3, 6, 4, 6, 6, 1, 1, 4, 2, 2, 3, 4, 6, 3, 6, 1, 2, 2) = 139 damage, assuming RTA hits and Spell Resistance is beaten.

RTA 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 15 + 1 = 36
Spell Penetration 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40

Possible crit on RTA 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 15 + 1 = 24
If successful, takes additional 40d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 4, 2, 6, 2, 1, 1, 3, 2, 5, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 2, 2, 2, 5, 5, 1, 3, 3, 6, 1, 5, 2, 1, 1, 3, 1, 4, 5, 4, 5, 6, 5, 2, 3) = 124 damage

GM, the Suggestion spell says: Asking the creature to do some obviously harmful act automatically negates the effect of the spell. By ignoring the dragon, Valgrim would be provoking an AoO from the dragon, a harmful act obviously, given the dragon's bite damage. What do you think?

The avolakia woman rolls her eyes at Alie and casts a spell, "How predictable." A shimmering blue wall intercepts the disintegrate beam and is destroyed by it in turn.

Valgrim: Please see discussion thread.

Since Valgrims action isn't coming up soon I'll move on til we get to him.

Three acolytes come out of various doorways and hallways to join the fray. One directly next to Alie, one appears in the hallway behind Bublaka, and the final one comes from the same wormdoor that Mahuudril just emerged from.

The final battle for the Tabernacle is on!

Will save + moment of greatness (thanks Friar for the reminder): 1d20 + 18 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 18 + 8 + 4 = 37
Will save #2: 1d20 + 18 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 18 + 4 = 27...will use Auspicious mark (2 rounds of rage) to add 1d6 ⇒ 4 to roll for a total of 31!

The two acolytes that bracket Alie, Ferez, and Bublaka one each suggest to Alie and Bublaka, "You better cast defensive spells because your completely surrounded."

"Bublaka and Alie: Make a DC 32 will save or be able to cast defensive spells only this round. And no, the best defense is a massive disintegrate spell is not a viable logic path ;p

EDIT (forgot to mention): The acolyte who comes out with Mahuudril gazes at Valgrim and suggests, "Surely, that wormdrake is going to tear you apart, you better just focus on defending yourself."

Valgrim already made the save for this in the above post for this and succeeded.

I also forgot about the moment of greatness. Thanks for the reminder.

Bubba, you get additional +4 against sonic and language dependent, which suggestion is, so success! :)
Base +20 +4 sonic +8 morale (moment of greatness) (d/n stack with Feast) = +32 for a total of 34.
Bubba, we need Countersong when you're up!

I am lost as to the order of the initiative list due to the new arrivals, who is up GM?

I intentionally did not use the moment of greatness and I already included the +4 sonic. If the bonus from feast doesn't stack, I needed a 4 to make the save and missed by two instead of one. It still sucks.

However, casting defensive spells does not preclude using bardic performance defensively, which countersong is, to me.

Bublaka is up now. Then top of a new round.

Bublaka casts Mirror Image (defensively, if necessary, he automatically succeeds).

Images, max 8: 1d4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

He also uses a swift action to begin a countersong effect even as he fails to realize he's been affected by one of the suggestions.
