I believe the creature inside does have a face direction and can be sneaked attacked, so I going roll, but if not, just ignore the sneak attack.

The witchgates are a series of portals that were built in small forts all across Ustalav by the whispering tyrant. They block most forms of magical transportation in a large radius and they can also be used to instantly travel to any other witchgate.

Both Shimmer and Ilithial can use the staff with UMD if need be. Shimmer can cast Cure Light once a day so might be abel to just use the staff. Unsure.


would need to be able to cast divine spells of at least 3rd level to use the staff properly but anyone can use it with a dc 20 umd check.It has 10 charges and any caster can replenish a charge by sacrificing any spell of 4th level of higher

The cultist of the whispering way have a major base that is in between you and the city itself you can either hit the base or avoid it entirely. You decide, if you decide to go right to the city we will assume you use magic to cover most of the distance and make it without any further encounters in the waste.

You decide to make a raid on the cult headquarters in the area to try and disrupt their operations.

The ruined remains of an old stone walls break from the dust of the landscape like jagged glass on a dirty barroom floor. Several guard towers reach feebly upward, their upper levels crumbling away. You notice a ghostly woman floating around (a banshee) (she can sense any living being that gets too close to her even if your invisible) you keep your distance.

An Attach is standing guard in front of the Abbey gate.

An athach is a twisted kind of giant, cruel and thuggish. It lives to bring misery, ruin, and terror to weaker creatures. An individual may be nearly any human color, though its arms are often a darker color or even grayish. Its upper fangs are long, extending from its mouth like those of a ferocious beast, and it constantly drools a weakness-inducing poison.
