Roshan gives Sienna an encouraging smile as he continues to blush slightly at the compliments that he was clearly not used to getting, "I've seen you in the kitchen and I believe you could learn easily enough. I mean...once you grasp the basics, it's just really a matter of you experimenting and trying different things, and finding out what flavors and dishes appeal to you. If you'd like, from now on when we're resting and such, and have the opportunity to cook..you can cook with me...I mean the dinner." Roshan shakes his head, willing his words to stop getting twisted around the foot that he kept sticking in his mouth.
Taking a moment to collect his thoughts, and trying desperately not to sound like some awkward imbecile, Roshan attempts it one more time, "Okay, what I'm trying to say is, once you figure something you'd like to make, I can assssist you in the kitchen with the prep work, and then just sort of let you take it from there, while monitoring your progress and offering help when needed. Did...did that make sense?" He asks, worried about his words being taken the wrong way.
I really don't know if I'm pulling off the whole "dude" vibe. Is it okay?

Edited. Oh for the love of. I really need to atop amd sleep when I fall asleep and accidentally hit send before fo ishing it. Sorry. Ggrrr....I will get this damn thing right eventually. *sigh, le mon petite sigh.
Seeing little alternative, Tesia tries to make as subtle an approach as posdible, for her size. After landing, and everyone is off of her back, Tesia changes back into herself.
Going to the others, she makes sure that everyone has their warm gear on before speaking softly, "Okay, we have no idea whatg we might run into here, so be careful, and pay attention tyo yourf surroundings at all timea. There is some woman that Arista asked me to look into finding for her family, if possible while we're here. I don't remember her name at the moment, but Arista wrote it down forf me. Okay, are we all reasy? Anyone need anything before we head in?"
I think I got it now, and that really has to be it for tonight. For realsies now. Double pinky swear. *tired laughter* What am I doijng wrong? Oh for Hell's sake. Really?

Personally, I believe a person is just a person. It doesn't matter if a man acts feminine or if a woman acts masculine. What matters is what they do and how they treat others.
"Yeah, that sounds fine," Sienna says. "I look forward to your assistance, Roshan. Maybe I can finally cook for my wife and daughter without having to evacuate the house."
Mirrin Oranna |
"I don't know how far we'll get today," Mirrin says, looking up at the mist-covered mountains. "Hopefully the locals are friendly."

Giving the sorceress a nod he says, "Then I will do my best to help you meet your goals."
I guess it kind of makes sense if he grew up socially awkward, and more interested ikn studying things and such. I guess I'm just feeling a little unsure of my ability to play a guy. I feel like I'm having az hard time getting into his head, and I wonder how I sound sometimes. I just wanted to make sure I was doing okay with him, that's all."
Sādhanā |
I agree, elements of "masculinity" and "femininity" can vary drastically from person to person and culture to culture.
As they finish their meal Sadhana looks at her companions. "So, ready to see what today brings us?"

Giving the Magus a grateful smile he says, "I promise that it won't. I just want to make sure that I'm not missing anything. At least now I know that he didn't abandon his duty. There's no point to checking out that town where they sent people to keep them safe. That town was sacked a long time ago, and after being raided repeatedly, I'm pretty sure there's nothing left to find. The trip to this particular Temple, was more of a personal one. I've always wondered what happened to the early settlers of Zahvroma, as well as the Island's history, and the fate of my ancestors."
Roshan is quiet as he quickly finishes what's on his plate. Looking back up at everyone he says, "I'm sorry if I'm keeping you all from something important. I'm sure you have better things to do, than watch me satisfy my idle curiosity. If you'd rather go on without me, and have me catch up later, I'd completely understand. I'm just going to be going into that one last locked room that we didn't have time to get to yesterday." Roshan looks back down, while picking up his cup of tea and finishing it as well. It was hard for him to understand why such an important and famous group of people, would want to help him with something as mundane as researching Zahvroma's history, and the role his family played in it's early development. Though...from all the stories he had heard about this particular group of people, he didn't know why he was surprised that they wanted to help him. They all seemed every bit as nice and personable, as the stories would lead you to believe. It was amazing to Roshan that their accomplishments had not gone to their heads. It was comforting to know, that there were still those that didn't allow the darkness of this land to corrupt them.
Roshan sits quietly, lost in his thoughts as he waits to make sure that he's not keeping them from something more important.

Sienna shrugs. "Who knows? We may find something that helps us with what we are doing. If not, then we just find out a little bit more about Zahvroma. It just seems that everything that happens here is connected to something else."

The village appears to be no more than ten houses clustered around a large building. The architecture here is quite different from the kinds that you have encountered up to this point. You can see smoke rising from the chimneys of most of the homes. A few people walk from the large building to the houses, bundled in thick furs.

Roshan nods, "Zahvroma has a very....complicated, and somewhat unique history. Even with everything I have learned so far, there seems to be more secrets. As if I've barely scratched the surfaced of what lies beneath. I'm sure that some day, all of her secrets will be revealed. I'm just hoping that when that day comes, we know what to do with the information."

Sienna magically cleans the dishes as the others get ready to head out. Once they exit the mansion, she walks out of the door, dismissing the spell. She glances at the temple then at Roshan. "Lead on."

Roshan nods as he leads them back to the Temple. Taking a deep breath, he pushes open the doors and steps inside. Pausing for a moment to look around and make sure things are still again.
Once it doesn't look like he's going to be assaulted by any literature, he makes his way back to the last locked room.
Closing his eyes for a moment as he takes out his tools, Roshan says a quick silent prayer to Cayden for guidance.
He then quickly gets to work on the lock, being careful to check to traps before starting his work.

Tesia rubs her arms slightly, "Okay...this place seems a little creepy to me almost. I don't know why....but I'm feeling some kind of strange vibe. It might just be that I'm tired though. Well, let's see how these folks are. I also need to keep an eye out for that man's wife that Arista told me about...just in case we run into her. I promised Arista I'd look into it for her since we were coming this way."

Roshan unlocks the door with expertise. It swings back slightly on its hinges to reveal a musty office. A sturdy desk with a high chair behind it dominates most of the room. Three bookcases, neatly arranged, stand at the back wall. On the right wall, there is a portrait of a stern-looking man in armor. In the left corner is something covered with a dusty sheet.

Giving him a smile she says, "I'm sorry to bother you, but we've been travelling for quite a few hours and we were wondering if you might have anywhere that we can rest for a bit?" Deciding to start off slow, as they try to get a feel for the area and the inhabitants. This was completely outside of their territory and Tesia first and foremost wanted to make sure everyone would be able to get warmed up, then maybe they could find out some information about the area they were in, that woman that Arista asked her to try and find, and other general information. She wanted to do it without causing an alarm or anything though. They knew nothing about these people, so they would have to be cautious.

"Ugh... damn!" Sādhanā mutters, blinking multiple times. "The magic in that mirror is ridiculously powerful. Among some of the strongest I've seen."

Sādhanā determines that the mirror may be some sort of communication device, but it requires precise settings to work.
Sādhanā |
"Oblivion senses a trace of a shard in the mirror. Not enough that it's immediately a threat or needs to be destroyed but it might at least explain the amount of power I feel coming from it." Sādhanā says as she studies the mirror. "Uts purpose is definitely communication in some way, but there are some kind of precise settings required in order to use it."
