The beginning is slow but later on it gets really really dark.
Just a warning if you're not okay with that sort of thing.
Cyna Singer |
Already finshed that. :D.
I have yet to watch torchwood and I'm waiting for the newest season of the DR. to show up on Netflix.
Skaar |
Where did everyone go?
Don't tell me you're doing something silly like 'eating dinner'.
Skaar |
Yay fun!
I just finished dinner. As soon as my food settles, I'm going to hit the gym.
Skaar |
As awesome as the post workout high is in the morning, I can't get up that early. =(
I lack discipline.
Skaar |
That's actually the plan...
Skaar |
Hu-what?
I do recall a certain foul-mouthed drug dealer and angry woman with a sword...
GM Henry Fortuna |
We did. Once upon a time...and that brings me to something I need to ask. After you finish this favor, you will be heading for Zahvroma. So do you want to continue as four or recruit two more if Aurelea and Stephen don't show back up? The foreign district will present a good opportunity to introduce new folk, if that's the course you want to take. Zahvroma won't have much in the way of civilization and introducing characters at that point means I will have to be more restrictive in regards to backstory and possibly classes.
Skaar |
I am a huge fan of smaller parties and would very much prefer going on with just the four of us (if it came to that). It lessens the opportunities for those situations where everyone is waiting on one person and gives all the characters more 'screentime' with the DM/plot.
I think we even have a reasonably balanced party with the four present and active.
Skaar |
I wouldn't mind adding one or two people as long as they A) Can keep up and B) Don't step on the toes of any of the characters already present. Our current party is great in that it feels like everyone has their niche that leaves them unique and interesting. I wouldn't want another party brute, or skill monkey (Har Har), or pale brooding arcanist to start muscling in on occupied territory.
Of course the best solution would be for our missing magus and oracle to reappear with a renewed commitment and consistent posting. =)

I believe recruitment at this point would be rather difficult, though I'm not opposed to it. Part of the reason is the setting and class juxtaposition, but the main issue I think is the maturity requirement. Skaar says he's going to the gym, but I know he's actually writing his steamy Orc sex scene, complete with maple syrup and a rubber Nixon mask; this means the already niche group from which the recruits would come must satisfy the additional requirement(s) of enjoying sticky 70's Republicans, large green fantasy creature phalluses, or both.
The posting frequency of our two missing, while not as often as ours, is not far behind what was requested for the recruitment. For me, the sticking point is the depth of the posts; there is a one-dimensionality which develops when the posts which do make it up each day are more for function than flavor. Off the top of my head, Aurelia is good with a sword and Stephan is hedonistic, but that's about all I know as a player. It's not exactly a compelling writing scaffold with which to work.
Skaar |
I'm at the gym right now but who says I can't lift weights and write steamy orc sex?
I can multitask!
GM Henry Fortuna |
I've noticed that. I'm getting a feel for Harakhty, Skaar and Drago as characters, not stats or a simple concept. I kinda regret killing off Sersel because I'm having trouble finding that hook for Cyna.
I also realize that my posting requirement needed modification after the frequent lulls and the expressed desire to move forward...or just move at all. It seems like all the bases are covered and four should be adequate for the game (I just can't go crazy with CR 2s). All the different factions are still represented and I can explore that if needed...however, it hasn't seemed all that important. Perhaps with the change of setting, it will be.
I see where the maturity issue comes into play and you all have proven yourselves to take a joke or a sex scene with dignity and grace (I'm laughing to myself...really, I am). There are much darker things that will work their way into the campaign (at least, I hope so), some of which Drago is privy to. So, if that settles the issue (I'd still like Drago's input for unanimity), we will proceed with four unless the other two return with vigor.
EDIT: Oh and I'll wait for Cyna to decide what she's doing before passing out this night and moving to the next day.

I'll spend tomorrow coming up with some ideas i was trying to be slightly anti-social being on the line of apart of something but not at the same time. It was partially because of my mission of sorts and "that thing" is supposed to be in the back of her mind while slowly getting to know the people she was traveling with. That was why I was kind of watching from the side lines.
Cyna Singer |
I try to keep back storys open. Detailed while still vague so that certain libertys can be taken if so chosen. Thats why i never droped names or locations and left out her time in the circle while still hinting at the outcast feel. Least I tried. Basically if you fell like it go wild.
Skaar |
As an added bonus, a smaller party lessens the burden on Cyna when our inevitable party-orgy occurs.
Also, the DM was curious how/when Cyna was going to retire for the evening.
Drago Skorzeny |
Well me personally, when it comes to the other players I can completely sympathize about RL events intervening. Take me for example, I normally can post a few times while I'm at work, but this week we have some VIP's and my workstation is right in the LOS of the conference room they are using. So I have to watch my P's and Q's. My vote is give them a little bit more time. If we have to continue without them or have to get new players, then so be it, but I don't think they need to be written off just yet.

Since they are one and the same, is that really multitasking? :)

Sorry, guys. This is NYC public schools' spring break and I've been off the deep end a bit. We teachers go crazier than the kids.
I work at an alternative school & understand completely. Good Friday starts my 10 days...
Skaar |
Obviously real life obligations are going to come up from time to time but that doesn't mean you can't check in and say 'Sorry guys I'm going to be out for the next few days', so that the game isn't held up.
Also, you guys were able to chime in here but still didn't post in the gameplay thread...
GM Henry Fortuna |
Pretty much what I want is "Hey, I'm busy but I still wanna play. After the apocalypse passes over my house, I can post regularly." I understand life comes first, but I'd like a heads up. Guessing makes my head hurt.
The other thing I like is keeping xp about the same for all folks, but I don't like handing out free xp. So if you need to sit back for a bit, just let me know and I can run you through the Marshmallow Dragons of Candy Island or some such thing.
Skaar |
I'd settle for the Marshmallow Dragons of Carnal Island.
Cyna Singer |
They did a great job on that book actually. Interesting prestige classes.
Working on GP post now had to wait for roommate to go to work so I didn't have to type the thing on my kindle.
