Yndryssa grabs a very large leather tome from the table. Catching a glance of it you see the leather once tight now appears rotting with strips of it slowly falling off. Under the pieces of leather that have begun to rot away you can see the yellowed tinge of old bones.

Beneath her robes she produces a tree and opens the trunk. Inside you can see a heaping amount of coins and several stones. (2,355 sp, 666 gp, a string of 9
small freshwater pearls (worth ??? gp each), an uncut peridot (worth ??? gp).

Atop the coins there are 2 small sticks crafted from fossilized wood. One is white the other being a shade of black-brown. A small cauldron, 6 vials and a scroll tube also rest upon the coins.

In the middle of these items you see a black cloth bag. She reaches to grab the bag in a nonchalant manner.

Do you let her?

~The team will thoroughly inspect (detect magic, the works) anything Yndryssa decides on bringing minus what i assume is her spellbook. Anything deemed as a potential risk to the team will be given to Xaeen rather than Yndryssa~

The fossilized wood have any significance wands or just sticks?

WWttW PC slides | Player's guide | ♦ |Ghosts 5e PC slides

definitely wands

All the items found on top of the coins radiate magic. You also see that she has two other wands on her person.

To speed things up I'll let you know what everything is since Yndryssa is working with you.

The wands on her are the following:
wand of invisibility (4 charges)
wand of false life (20 charges)

a wand of detect secret doors (34 charges) (black-brown fossilized wood)
a wand of cause light wounds (31 charges) (white fossilized wood)
a cauldron of brewing
six potions of inflict light wounds

In the scroll case are three separate scrolls:
a scroll of invisibility
a scroll of force punch
a scroll of dimension door.

Reaching her hand into the bag you watch as Yndryssa pulls out the severed head of a grimfaced middle-aged male dwarf. Parts of the dwarf's face is marked with burn mark and boils and what is left of his beard is tangled with dried blood and fragments of bone.

"Lord Dhurne's head."

The head radiates the most powerful magic you have ever witnessed almost making you feel nauseous by the aura that it exhibits.

While not smart enough to actually carry a ranged weapon, Amigail's at least bright enough to learn somewhat from her mistakes. Slinking over to Innis, she whispers in the Calistrian's ear, "Um...is it wise to leave the head in Yndryssa's possession? She could just fly off with it."

We'll check the wands on her person I don't want any surprises. The scroll of dimension door and wand of invisibility are forfeit and in our possession until the mission is a success she can complain but Innis isn't a fool. The head she said we should bring so I assume there's no complaints of that being in our possession. Is it safe to hold RE:spellchecks from lili, merry & kirzon or knowledge from our Dark Sisters?

Innis nods to Amigail, already steps ahead of the other woman but glad that the reckless warrior is perhaps learning some measure of the greater game at play.

Speeding things up here. There is no need to roll for spellcraft checks everything in my previous post was accurate. You do notice that the cloak she is wearing is magical it looks like every other cloak you have seen those of the Sisterhood wear. The bag is also magical (bag of holding).

Merelda looks over Yndryssa the creature is neutral evil.

Taking her wands and the bag from her she does complain although her eyes cut at you with a scowl.

Who is carrying the bag with the head? The wands? and the scrolls?

As soon as you touch the head you SCREAM out in pain!

You all are about to rush to Kirzon drops as he drops to his knees only to then watch as the eyes of the severed head flick open. They stare directly at the old lumberer as he screams out. It lasts for only a brief moment before Kirzon's head slumps down with his arms still outstretched holding the head...

Cass watched and listened carefully to what was said, ready to lash out if needed but things seemed to be going well. It was just as she began to relax when the hideous head was brought out. As those with the know how studied the various items Cass kept an eye on Yndryssa.

When Kirzon screamed in agony on taking the freakish head Cass was shocked. When he stopped screaming and collapsed she stood in shock. As Merelda turned her anger on Yndryssa Cass turned her focus there again and readied her glaive, more than happy to strike the b@@~$ down if Kirzon was dead.

Yndryssa ignores the threats from Merelda and Cassandra her eye sockets centered only on Kirzon. She shows no expression even as Cassandra's glaive comes to her neck.

From Xaeen you hear in her whispered voice, "I do not know."

Yndryssa disapprovingly speaks as Xaeen answer's Lililinda's question, "You see the power of the item before you. Your companion will not die. At least I hope not." Even as she says this you watch as Kirzon begins to slowly move his body teetering as if it will fall at any time.

Kirzon:

As you reached out with your divination you were flooded with the thoughts of someone else. You watch through their eyes as they go about cutting down every dwarf in their path with a wickedly curved axe. Within the pommel sits
exquisitely cut black sapphire. Screams fill your vision. None are spared. No man, woman or child.

Eventually with none left to slay you watch the person seizes the axe by the pommel and the bloodied axehead bringing his neck down upon the blade. With your last vision your vantage changes as the head rolls away from the headless corpse still holding the axe you read something written in dwarven runes on the axe blade. Hzarakul. You know this to be the name of the axe.

Whoever carries this head will give you great power over it's owner. the Great Spirit Tree voice looms in your head now and you can sense the power.

With this knowledge you finally open your eyes.

Here is what the head provides you with:
• All PCs and their allies within 20 feet of the head gain a +4 bonus to attack rolls made against Lord Dhurne.

• Lord Dhurne suffers a –4 penalty to all attack rolls against the PC holding the head.

• As a full round action, the PC holding the head can brandish it and force Lord Dhurne to succeed on a DC 20 Will save or be rendered stunned for 1 round. If Lord Dhurne succeeds on the save he is still staggered for 1 round.

The head of Lord Dhrune's head falls from Kirzon's hands onto the floor. Kirzon, still on his knees, finally comes out of whatever power had come over him. He looks around, seeing everyone stare at him with concern. "Ah'm alright, lassies," he says, letting out a sigh. But the way he rubs his eyes makes it seem like he can't quite shake something he saw.

"Tis a wicked tale, 'tis. Lord Dhrune killed 'is own kin wit' tha axe, Hzarakul, before bringin' 'is own neck on tha axe." Kirzon gives all of the details of his vision, and of the power this head has over its former owner.

~ Oh Goddess what cruel game do you play with this inquisitor of yours? ~ Innis wonders at the pall of misfortune that clings so heavily to the dour elf and what origins of faith bind Merelda to Calistria's service even so.

With Kirzon still winded and shaky from his glimpse into Lord Dhurne's eyes Innis can't help but feel that only she's gained from the struggles of these past few days. Her rise to power is without question, adding yet another powerful artifact into her possession after yet another risky gambit. With both her Empowered Holy Symbol and Dhrune's head she knows Calistria has set her upon this path and that she has been equal to the Goddess' whim every step of the dance. Let the others ambitions be nothing more than seeing tomorrow. Sensing the end in sight her mind is a whirl with greater possibilities.

Reaping Stone Campaign: Under Cassomir

Leaving the tower Yndryssa takes you back up the path to the forked path and then leads you down the other path. She is completely quiet during this time and keeps her distance from Xaeen.

After about an hour's worth of walking you finally enter a twisting labyrinth of scorched stone buildings and sunken plazas. You have no idea how far these ancient ruins date back, you must imagine it must have been well before Cassomir was built.

"This is Hrazhad-Kul," Yndryssa says in dry, emotionless voice, "Know we are not invited here be prepared."

These ancient crumbling ruins are obviously haunted. Softly whispering shadow-shapes dance at the corner of your vision as the empty streets and crumbling
buildings seem to almost vibrate with a tangible malign presence.

Along the tops of building and flying about you see the rotting bodies dozens of ravens. It seems that they might be the only inhabitant of this haunted city. As you walk through the city they stop what they are doing to watch you. No cawing sounds come from them and it leaves you with an eerie feeling.

The road directs you to what you believe is the center of the ruins where you find a large sunken plaza. The plaza is surrounded by buildings to the north and south with set of stairs in the western part of the plaza where road continues on from.

The sunken plaza is dominated by a large stone platform, atop which stands a large wooden display case holding hundreds of skulls and severed heads. Displayed on it are hundreds of severed humanoid heads– some look to be dwarven as well as some mites and even a few derro heads. You can even see a couple bloody human ones.

Reaping Stone Campaign: Under Cassomir

Cassandra Will save vs DC18: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17
Amigail, Boros and Cassandra are considered shaken

The sound is maddening and as it continues you watch Amigail, Cassandra and Boros all take a step back as they move into the plaza. Yndryssa ignores the animated head and looks back at the group. Seeing the look in some of their eyes she comments to Innis, "You travel with such weak minded companions. Are you sure you expect to reach Azrenar?"

The open area of the plaza must measure at least 160 feet long by 120 feet wide. Other than the set of stairs on the western end of this plaza you see no other way exit.
