of course not; he can be like a bastard-stepchild of both cultures
will work just like it does in the UK now ;)

I... don't know how to do that, I couldn't work it out. Any tips?
Sorry, misremembered that. Never mind! Your character sheet is complete.
But you should have a portrait linked in your Paizo character sheet. Also, please look at Bain and Waylon and Jotun's posts and format your Class/Level line like those.

When you cursor-over the portrait inset of the character sheet, you will see the mouse changes. Click on the empty space.
You should get an upload screen, allowing you to upload a file, with the suggestion that it be greater than 420x420 pixels for clarity.LMK if that helps - I can also do it for you if I have the PDF and the JPG of your character image.

Did that help? I am happy to film a live-action How-To video if needed ...

Done.
Was very helpful thanks, I was opening the PDFs in Edge (gross, I know!) But I've linked it to Acrobat now and its working a charm.
Link to full pic is in profile (art not mine!)
I'll get the stat blocks set up.

Padraig, Sargon and Percy, why are you out here in the wilderness?
"Chance, if chance you call it," or were you sent, and if so by whom? Elrond is convenient but since the players marched straight here from Rivendell, its hard to swallow that you got here first.
How about this? You are friendly with the rangers and were traveling southeast along the north bank of the Greyflood, intent on investigating rumors of trouble in far Lond Daer when you were surprised by the arrival at Tharbad of a huge ship out of the south full of armed men. You fled east into Hollin but were pursued. You don't know why.
Work for you?

Oddly enough, river banks are old hat to Sargon. He spent over 75 years going from Forlond up into the Blue Mountains and back collecting gold which revealed itself by starlight in the river. Once he finished his studies in the Gray Havens, he forged the Circlet of Stargold as a tribute to Elbereth and the Varda ... after which, he found he missed being by the river. In his heart he knew the secret power of rivers: a river can always see the night sky.

Padraig had heard whispers of some umpteenth cousin, several times removed on his mother's side (not removed enough if you'd asked his mother!) Somebody Took. If the rumours were true, this relative had had an Adventure. His father used to love telling him the stories when his mother wasn't listening.
Then cousin Peregrine went off with Meriadoc and some relative from Hobbiton. Something Tookish build up in Padraig until it overwhelmed his normal Hobbit sensibilities. He just had to leave. Grabbing a few meagre doodads and a couple of accoutrements, he stole out in the first light of dawn, stopping only to steal a pouch of his mother's special seasoning from the pantry shelf. He left nothing but a note behind.
"Mother. Have gone to find my Adventure. Pad. X"
Since then he has rather bounced back and forth. Not being a learned hobbit he could not really tell you where he has been. But he's more than happy to tell you what he's been doing. For the whole tale you'll have to ask him yourself, but it suffices to say: There has been a lot of walking, a good deal of hiding, not nearly enough eating and never a pillow to rest on. He has been the guest of goblins, only to be snatched away by Rangers (with whom he is delighted to have made the acquaintance.) He gained a rather lovely shield as a momento of his time with the goblins, he knows little about it other than it seems to keep him safe, and that's good enough for him, thank you very much.
He is, believe it if you wish, a much reduced Hobbit. Though still rotund by any standard, his recent lack of meals has taken its toll on his once prestigious girth.
Now he travels with the Rangers for a time, on the bank of some river or other, looking for his Adventure. There has been an upset recently, a good deal of nasty looking armed folk that no-one was expecting nor looking for from what he could work out. Now his round belly is bouncing along at quite some pace. Maybe there's a meal to be had soon...

Botheration
When are we? Pre-Hobbit?
As far as I remember the Tooks have had a reputation for adventuring Historically, the mention of Pippin and Frodo s just icing. Scrap it.

GM Tarondor |

Bain is correct. The default timeline is decades after The Hobbit and decades before The Lord of the Rings. I've moved us much closer to The Lord of the Rings, but the Long-Awaited Party won't happen for a year or more.
Listen, this is taking awhile, so figure out why you're here on your own, but here you are. You're sheltering in a random old tower out the wilderness when three humans and a dwarf burst in!

So we think these guys are evil and rushed here to beat them and set up defenses. Waiting for them to enter the defenses would negate that. From the looks, I am guessing they are Corsairs of Umbar. There are too many to deal with well in Melee I think. So we should shoot at them first. Corsairs may not have the best of Morale. If we can take out the leaders and enough of the henchmen some may flee.

Báin son of Thrombur |

In my view of Tolkien's world, you Rangers are far more worldly than most. Báin wouldn't know what a Corsair of Umbar is to save his life. Being an old school gamer, and having played the old Middle Earth from ICE, and having owned "Umbar: Haven of the Corsairs," I know a bit more. It had been my assumption (not Báin's) that these were Southrons of some sort.
Again, if the Ranger thinks engaging them with volleys is the way to go, Báin will support.

Indeed, safe travels and have fun!

Folks, I want to apologize for my absence. It was a combination of several personal things going on, filing taxes (I own a few businesses so it takes awhile) and having a fairly bad case of bronchitis (which I’m still not over). Nonetheless, I wish I had posted to let you all know I’m still alive.
My plan is to return to all my games tomorrow (Thursday the 20th).

Jotun "Son of Jungarr" |

Definitely feel better, GM! Things are finally quieting down here at work, so my own schedule is starting to free up finally.

Sargon Starbright |

ALL - real life has been a little busy, still feel like I am recovering from mother's day tbh. That said, I am happy to add absolutely anyone to my Discord just in case we would like to have a way to reach out to each other. I don't want any of my active games to go without input if all I need is a heads-up to take a minute to post. Thanks!

Greetings adventurers! Just a quick note to let you know the family and I are taking some Summer vacation starting this evening.
I'll be back and ready to save the world on 12 June!

Have fun, Bain!

Moving into a new place, I'll be back online after this weekend, but then taking a short vacation. My posting will be spotty until Monday, 6/12. Going to try and post once or twice during that time, but if I go radio silent you'll know why - so feel free to bot me. Thanks folks!
