It's not the pennies I'm worried about, it's the pound, or pounds, of flesh that might be taken... Ah well, there is certainly more knowledge to seek. Rey takes out her map making kit, and adds some more notes and drawings, stows the gear, then casts Greater Invisibility on herself, then steps forward.

The ceiling of this twenty-five foot high chamber is supported by a great number of cleverly carved gray marble pillars decorated with intertwining thorny roses, snakes, and delicately clawed hands making strange signs. You are in the middle of the pond in the center of the chamber. You comrades are not here.
You get one turn before other things happen.[/ooc]

Rey, Omar, and Sargon you bravely enter the room where your companion was sliced to bits and find yourself standing in the middle of pool in roughly three feet of water. The room looks familiar there are dead rats everywhere and you see Dragox is sprawled out on his back just outside of the pool.

DC 14 Acro check to climb out of the pool without falling prone.
Sargon The War Sage |
Is Dragox conscious?
Sargon flies over and above Dragox.
We are here to help you Dragox
Sargon says invisibly above Dragox keeping his eyes peeled for any threats
Perception: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (17) + 26 = 43

"Helpmwould have nice before I busted my arse right there," the half orc says with a grin. "I hatethis stupid wizard," he grumbles as he gets to his feet.
Sargon The War Sage |
I always liked going south, Felt like I was walking downhill
baldwin the merciful |
You see plenty of dead rats, their bones crunch under your feet, as you proceed south. The corridor looks familiar. As you get to the end it becomes obvious that you've been here before. You are at the destroyed door you used to leave. As stand there another fog rolls back in from the pool room...
Sargon The War Sage |
Well we know fog is never a good thing, let's try the other direction
Sargon The War Sage |
You heroic adventurers are afraid of a little fog?
It's not fear my dear. Magical fog in a trap filled dungeon is something to be avoided unless we have no other recourse. Shall we try the other passage
baldwin the merciful |
For clarification: The fog is coming from the room you were teleported into. You saw no other doors or halls (other than the south hall) into or out of the room with the pond. You have now entered this area by two different means: the first time when you entered via the stairs and the blade corridor and blade traps. The second time via teleportation into the pond. Remember when you fled the last time you destroyed the doorway leading out.
Sargon The War Sage |
Sargon will check over the pond to see if it is a 2-way teleporter. Perhaps we can get back to the whirling blades of death teleport room
Sargon The War Sage |
Our choices seem to be dwindling Sargon says as he makes his way back to his companions.
Shall we head down the southern hall?
baldwin the merciful |
After figuring out there is no way out from the south, Sargon leads everyone back into the pillared pool room. The teleporter does not work in reverse...another dead end.
Meanwhile Rey continues to cast her magical detection song, she sees the fog is magical but something else has her attention: The west way has a magical aura. -N: 28, -M:28.
Dragox |
If Rey lets the others know about the illusionary magic on that particular wall, Dragox will accompany Omar to it, and let him check for traps. Assuming there were none, Dragox will see if it is an illusion and try to walk through it.
Sargon The War Sage |
Staying invisible Sargon follows the group in
Reyondelee |
The west wall has an illusion covering it? Rey says, giving the wall a quizzical look... Sargon, any chance you can dispel that? I give up trying to dispel, my magic in that realm seems to be all fizzley lately.
Sargon The War Sage |
I can certainly try Rey, though the folks who built this were very powerful
Sargon casts Dispel Magic.

The rest of the group:
The alcove is empty except for a few items dried animal bones. Those bones look picked over and gnawed.
Sargon The War Sage |
So she can see invisible...and is invisible?
It appears that we have company Sargon says pointing out the feral woman
If she is invisible Reveal yourself woman, you have no reason to fear us lest your motives be foul
Mother |
Sargon correct on both accounts.
In an aged voice that gurgles a bit from phlegm she responds to Sargon, "Why...no, How? are you here?" There seems to be a bit of confusion to her question. "Yes...why don't BOTH of us turn visible if you mean me no harm." She pauses a moment then asks, "Who are you?"
That this point only Sargon can see her but her voice carries for all to hear.
don't mind the name under the avatar picture that was from another game. The old lady looks something like the picture though.
Reyondelee |
The only harm here is that which you bring with you. If you desire to leave in peace, then in peace you will leave. If otherwise? Then in pieces.
Rey readies an action to cast glitterdust centered on the square where she heard the voice at the slightest hint of a threat.
Mother |
"Songbird has strong words." There is a dramatic pause, "I've not threatened you, I have not come to you, you've come to me with iron, steel and spells. Killing everywhere you go." her voice cracks a bit, "Of course you can overpower these old bones but what you seek will be farther way, knowledge you will not have." She smirks at Sargon, her rotten teeth showing, "Kill me if you must then replace me in my tomb."
Reyondelee |
At the word "knowledge" Rey pauses. She reaches out and grabs Sargon's forearm, gripping tightly. Then she whispers, Surely if she wanted us dead, she would have attacked already? Let us see what knowledge our strange old voice has to share, yes?
Dragox |
Dragox used his Detect Evil ability and was not surprised when an evil form was sensed. He'd long ago learned to not charge every evil being as perhaps something could be learned from the creature.
Sargon The War Sage |
"Kill me if you must then replace me in my tomb."
Sargon speaks to her in Taalese I am Sargon former commander of the eastern armies and if you know me you know that my word is iron...No harm shall come to you lest you wish harm upon us. What is your name and how came you to this tomb?
