I'd prefer not to leave 'em in the hands of those beasties. Who knows they be planning. Korak nods as he pats the spiked hammer on his back. I wouldn't mind crushing a few of their heads either.

Gorn scoffs. "I'd rather not wait. Dwarf Karsk, can you lead us to where these orcs might be? Orcs are but poor sport at best, but if they are not too far away we can crush their skulls and be back on the road before dark."
Gorn cracks his thick neck and rolls his muscle-laden shoulders, staying loose.

Korak pulls the the Earth breaker from his back and carries it at his side as they walk.

Gorn makes no attempt at stealth. He marches down the trail steadily, his great strides eating up the distance ahead. Of course, he makes no effort to announce his presence either; the singing of war-chants was always more a dwarven tradition, and the playing of battle-instruments occasioned by the elves he liked not. Onward he marched in stony silence, only occasionally checking to make sure the group stayed with him.
He keeps his eyes out for the spoor of the orcs. Occasionally he flexes an arm, or twitches his large back, anxious for the fight to come.

Might be best if yeh were to move on to the next village. Tell us where yer goin' and we'll tell yer friends where yeh went if we can.
ULTRAGEEK
Harsk speaks Aye, that might be best. Next village is Aldeth, about 6 minutes north of us With that, he limps through the forest, toward where the sounds of laughter and work.
You see no orcs, but see marks of their presence. Fresh tracks, as well as drag marks, are easily seen in the mud, which squelches beneath your feet. There is also blood stains on trees, as well as a few (orc) bodies.
Korak The Boisterous
Korak stops to check the orcs. Looks like me kin put up a good fight. Might be a group of bandits pickin' a fight though.
Gorn Steelbreaker
|
Korak, are you suggesting that the dwarves were kidnapped by orcs, which were then slain by bandits, and we're now chasing that group of bandits? This is...odd."]
Are you saying that Aldeth is literally 6 minutes north of us? That's about 150 yards. We could see it from here. Jus' sayin'. =)
Korak The Boisterous
I be suggesting me kin fought back. I be admitting that's not the only possibility. Korak grunts as he moves forward whether he found anything or not. Probable meant miles and autocorrect got him.
ULTRAGEEK
meant to write miles, but was thinking of something to do with minutes....oops
The end of the trail is lined with brush, just enough to provide cover if one lays down. Beyond the brush, there is a fast moving river, with a old, rickety bridge going across. Only a few feet separate the bridge and the rushing water below, making it quite slippery. Beyond the bridge is a large cave, with 5 orc sentries guarding it. They are holding javelins, and look alert.
If you wish to hide, please make a stealth check
Korak The Boisterous
Korak looks down at his armor. If any of ye slender fellows be the sneaky type ye'd best move forward without me. I not be the silent type by nature.

Gorn nods at the plan. "Excellent. Sola, we'll advance until you cast. Korak, once her spell goes off, both of us will sprint for their lines. Zoren, support as ye can."
Gorn stays loose, and waits for everyone to advance as one.
Sola Nym
All i need is them within range, if you could draw them next to each other in the process i can put both of them to sleep, Orcs tend to have horrid mental defenses despite the rage and bellowing
She advances behind the group, readying to cast as soon as the orcs are in range.
ULTRAGEEK
A rope bridge, and Sola, everything is in range
As you move ahead, the orcs suddenly look up, and 3 draw bone swords, while 2 ready their javelins
Gorn: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Sola: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Zoren: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Korak: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Brawnen: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Orc1: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
Orc2: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Orc3: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Orc4: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (4) + 0 = 4
Orc5: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (9) + 0 = 9

Well for my action i cast sleep as a standard action, though for what who would be effected would require a map or some kind of visual, preferably centering it to effect as many as possible. dc 15 will save, -2 to one of the orcs if any are within 30 ft as a swift action using Hypnotic stare.

Wasn't there some mention of a map at some point? If not, we can always use a field-expedient:
Combat map:

J=orc with jav. O=Orc with sword

Sola Nym
Sola walks forward drawing her blade smiling, she locks her vision on the foremost orc, whispering under her breathe sleep.
In summary move action, swift action to activate hypnotic stare on the center orc near the front that gives it a -2 to will saves and cast sleep in the center of the 3. the all need to make a dc 15 will save or fall asleep

Gorn seems the foemen fall in slumber deep, and roars a mighty barbaric cry as he charges for'ard, massive sword of STEEL with both hands held high!
As he encounters the first orc, he brings his sword down, falling like an ancient oak.
Charging attack, Power Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 7 + 2 - 1 = 24
Damage, Power Attack 1: 2d6 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 9 + 2 = 15
Can't get at map right now, move me as needed.

Here is the updated order:
The entire party(except Zoren and Korak)(in any order)
Orc1
Korak
Zoren
Orc4
The rest of the orcs are sleeping, so I took them off the map
Waiting for Brawnen, then Orc 1 shall attack
The orcs smirk as Sola approaches them, but that disappears as three of their companions fall to the ground. As Gorn rushes toward him, the lead orc readies his own sword at a feeble attempt at a block. Gorns own sword cleaves through most of the orcs arm, leaving him on the ground, dazed, bleeding everywhere.ehhh....he groans
