The sudden call of fire in the building startles Marianna. They didn't..., she thinks before shaking her head and desperately looking for a guard to flag down.

"Sir! Sir!" she calls out as she approaches the guard. "I just heard calls of fire from within that tavern!"

Gahrod jumps into action as the fire quickly builds, ”FIRE! Everybody out!”, he will however head towards the kitchen and try to put out the blaze.

Several things start to happen at once, and a huge commotion ensues. Ebert, having caught his breath, convinced the second group of guards to at least come back with him to the Tavern about the same time as the fire was started. Seeing the smoke in the distance from the fire, they run fast to the Tavern. They arrive and are the group of guards that Marianna flags down. "See," Ebert says, rather excitedly, "they are burning down the tavern and destroying any evidence rather than be caught red handed with it! This proves I was right!"

"Run and get the fire brigade, hurry!" the guard leader yells to one of his number, who then darts off quickly. "At least we are near the water so we won't have to carry buckets far. Does anyone here know how to Create Water? We need immediate assistance!"

The few patrons of the inn, along with most of the sensible group flee the building as the fire really catches on in earnest. Curse a inn build of wood. Gahrod, who bravely headed to the kitchen to put out the blaze, realizes the futility of his actions quickly, as he alone isn't able to do much about the situation. Nylthe, who is already there, tossed what salt she could find on the fire to little good effort.

Duncan, smart as he is, watches what the group hopes is the enemy Agent flee. Keeping an eye on him, Duncan watches as he flees at top speed out the inn, and disappears into the alleyways and walkways, trying to not only not be seen, but to get away and not be remembered as well.

Juis exits the Inn with speed and watches the fire consume the Inn and frowns, he helps the effort to end the fire as best as he can but doesn't have access to the Create Water spell.

Gahrod exits the building coughing and choking on the grease fire fumes. He is visibly upset by what just happened and looks dumbfounded as the fire consummes the Oyster.

How the hell did the building burn down that quickly? I hope everyone got out unharmed.

He shakes his head and then joins the crew trying to put out the fire, helping in any way he can.

At this point the fire has engulfed the kitchen which is pretty much gone. If acted upon quickly, the building might be saved/salvaged. See the box on the map SLIDE 7 to see what is gone...

By Iomedae what have they done. Ebert's excitement from being right quickly fades away as the fire begins to rage further threatening to destroy the Overflowing Oyster and the possibly the rest of the block.

"I am incapable of creating water on a whim for like this!" What in the hell have they done!

"If we work together, we can get the fire contained," the sensible Ranger says. "We can smother flames and form a bucket line to douse what has spread. The grease fire itself will need to be starved of air to be extinguished, water won't help that."

Is there any way to get water from the surrounding area easily: bucket, barrel, or other means of conveyance?

Its a dock, there are plenty of containers that can be used to convoy water in a bucket brigade.

Of course, now that many people have gathered, and time is of the essence, slipping away to complete another tasks might not be a bad idea, either.

Seeing the others leaving with confidence that the assembled masses are able to take care of themselves Ebert withdrawals limping and wheezing from all the running.

Fairly sure the meeting was disrupted. Maybe this time we can complete the next task without committing a felony?"

He leads the others to the area where he thinks Rat Street might exist, looking for the entrance tot the sewers below Diobel to investigate this Laszlo.

Seeing the others slip away while the area moves to save the remains of the tavern slightly rankles Marianna, and she's tempted to stay and help deal with this disaster. However, the mission is rather time sensative, and if she loses the others, she may not find them until tonight. So, after a brief moment, she follows the others and slips away herself. "Please tell me you didn't..., she immediately begins to ask upon rejoining the others...

Delroya’s directions lead to an isolated alley in the Bristles, and then down into the sewers beneath Diobel. The stench of sewage mixes with the sharper odors of chemical fumes and decay and permeates the damp tunnels. From this intersection, tunnels lead west and south into the darkness. A third tunnel heading east is filled with detritus, filthy beddings, food scraps, broken glass, and rotting furniture. An alcove lies beyond a collapsed portion of the tunnel’s southern wall, and further east, a statue of a giant rat rests in the dead-end passage. Countless empty flasks and discarded alchemical ingredients lie on the floor around the statue. On a nearby workbench sit several organized but empty flasks and jars.

Once you have placed your tokens at/near the ladder (see the note), more will be revealed and made accessible.....

Juis climbs down the ladder and then makes room for the others to join him. He crinkles his nose, "Oh my, what a pleasant aroma." he says sarcastically.

He looks around, but with his limited sight he can't tell how far the tunnels go or what is further down. So he waits for the others to determine which direction might be best.

Hmm, hunting a rat in the sewers. A good thing I've brought my not-so-small but vicious dog with me. She gives Aconite a brief scratch behind the ears.

Ebert makes his way down the ladder jumping off the last few rungs to land in the tunnel with a crude splash.

"You Said it Juis. Feel Free to hold onto the back of my vestments while we are down here if you need too." Ebert surveys the tunnels from his location.

The last one down the ladder, Duncan looks about as the kitsune illuminates the smelly sewers. He bends down to examine and/or pick up the alchemical jars trying to determine what might've been in them. He shows them to the Kelish investigator as well, just to see if he has any better idea.

Marianna climbs down the ladder and wrinkles her nose as well. "Well, we know that he doesn't use his sense of smell in his work... Ugh." She unsheathes her sword and sets her shield to prepare if it comes to fighting. With a quick look around, she scans for other signs of life in the sewer.

Four people live in the tunnels and alcove near Laszo’s lab. These people have been using whip since Laszo concocted it several months ago, and they are in a sorry state. They suffer from malnourishment and can barely speak. In their delirium, they take little notice of you.

Sewer vermin are not Duncan's specialty though he is an outdoorsman and in touch with nature. He didn't have to know that bugs that size were trouble and the best way to deal with them was to squash them dead.

Seeing the group of beetles coming from one end of the sewer complex, Duncan swivels his head around to see if there are any more coming from the other direction, before leaping into action.

If he sees more foes:
Duncan calls out to the others, pointing and getting their attention to focus in both directions. He moves towards the new group of foes until he has a clear line. Then he then aims for the nearest foe, and fires.

If there are no more visible enemies:
Duncan sees his line of sight is blocked by allies and drug-addled skels, so he leaps over the effluent stream to find a clear line. Once he has one, he takes careful aim, feeling the blessing from Juis flow through him, and fires at Red beetle.

Perception to see more foes?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Acrobatics to Leap: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17

Ebert takes a small step back and attempts a running long jump across the canal.
