Sorry for the hiatus guys! I'm back! Been studying for finals but I haven't forgotten about you guys. A few points of order:
First, a word on Vengeance points. Magnus's god, among other things, is the god of righteous vengeance. You may spend these points to get a +4 on any d20 roll as an immediate action before the results of the die are revealed. Once spent, they are are lost permanently.
The downside is that, while you retain these points, you MUST avenge the fallen. Upon seeing the agents of chaos and undeath (chaotic evil and undead creatures), you MUST spend your first round charging an opponent. If you do not, you acquire a cumulative -1 penalty to saves, skills, and attack rolls, for each round you have not executed your charge. This penalty is removed when you charge and also if you no longer have any vengeance points.
You acquire a vengeance point when you witness the death of an innocent person.

Second, Khaod, we have not divvied gear up yet. Feel free to discuss :)

Third, I can't seem to edit this map online accurately so I'll have to describe the route to you.
http://cdn.obsidianportal.com/map_images/199013/GolarionMap.jpg
You began in the nation of Rahadoum, and set out from the city of Azir, along the Jodin river, traveling east until you hit the crook in the river right where the "n" is in "Jodin". Now you are headed north to a fort (not pictured) on the nearest point of the coast to you.
Any other questions? I'll update the game now :)

So...what loot system are we using? Are we allowed to request taking a certain item and then abstaining from taking anything else the next time around unless we REALLY need it or...? I am dreadfully afraid of the Communist Loot system, which has ruined one of my past games on here, so I wanted to make sure. I know I really am not the one who needs it most but I wanted to put in a request for the Amulet of Natural Armor if that was ok with everyone else. Obviously I will bow to someone else whose need is greater, my only argument is that my natural armor and my actual armor type is the only type of defence I'll have, I realize still nice, but :P just thought I'd put in the request for it. I personally hate players who go into a loot pile and before anyone can say anything they grab something and say "This is mine, because I want it. I don't care if you need it more, I just want it and I won't give you my old one" baaaad experiances with old gaming groups :( anyways :) thoughts?

Khaod:
I'm a fan of the group coming to an agreement on distributing gear rather than just blindly selling or apportioning it. Finding out what items to sell and who should use them is part of the fun of Pathfinder.
That said, I'll let you and the rest of the group in on some metagame. I want everyone to have fun so I monitor these sorts of exchanges closely to tease out peoples desires. Pathfinder is not supposed to be competitive. So, for example, you'll notice I gave Magnus something interesting to mess with since he died. Its both an advantage and a disadvantage. I think it fits his character well.
Sunny LOVES to rp. Unless I've got that totally wrong ;). So I try to give her opportunities to do weird and exciting things to connect to the world every chance she gets. (Its not hard; she's quicky enough to make rp'ing a pleasure regardless.)
Lilandra is a classic Pathfinder player if I could pick one. Clear character idea, desire to break my monsters in half, concerned about playing by the rules. Still metagames enough that I get to adjust CR for her ;) . Undead slayer in an undead campaign? Broken? Nope. I just adjust the CR and send her on her way.
In short, I like all of you guys. And I try to make this fun. So if you disagree, its nothing I can't fix with a little storytelling or another encounter!
And Khoad, oh Khaod. I'm you on the weekends man. I build the biggest con-driven, armorbarianm Oh-god-why-didn't-I-take-feats-to-make-monsters-hurt-me-more-than-Magnus, power bruisers. You're out to smash things and have a good time. And boy do I have some items to get in your hands level 5-10. Good times. High five. No stop, that broke my wrist. Ow.
Khaod Argus |
Hahaha how bout an air five from a safe distance :P rofl I've always liked having a lot of armor and barbarians are cool to me, so a mixture of the two is awesomely epic ^^
On the note of recruiting a few extra players, I am in a new game under Game Master Borum that when he might add a new player to the group, the entire current cast puts a vote on if the new person should be allowed in :) By doing so we even avoided a certain player who would not agree to make a character by Borum's rulings so we all got to vote no and then voted yes on a nother much better character ^^ I personally like this system but I'll go by your rulings. I say this as a point of both rp and metagame but without Dim we'll probably be in a load of trouble, it'd be nice to try and find another person who might be willing to heal a bit. I know the pains of people wanting your character along just to be the classic backrow White-Mage "Healmore" person, to me it's boring, but I can't speak for others :) Anyways if everyone agrees I wouldn't be adverse to recruiting a few extra faces ^^
EDIT: Also you are making this incredibly fun ^^ so props!

Here's the conunudrum, Lilandra can't really use any of the other stuff and without an arcane or full divine spell caster (yay hardcore killin' types) the scrolls and staff should be sold.
Except for one thing, did anyone identify the scroll as a scroll of animate dead. If not, it'll sell just fine but if someone did, there's no way Lilandra would allow the opportunity for that to get into some bastard necromancer's hands.
She'd destroy it first.
On the topic of another character we definitely do need healing, and maybe some spellcasting power.
Fortunately in Pathfinder there's a ton of options, Cleric, Witch, Druid, Bard as well as certain Archetypes of other classes all make good healers.
I do like the vote or veto power so we can keep tthe fun dynamic this party has.

Fine by me to continue :) Also Lilandra, I definetly see your point but it's the same case with Khaod but to a greater degree, as Barbarians get no magical abilities whatsoever :P The only reason I'd say I could really use it is because of the combination of not using a shield as well as Raging minus to AC, so another +2 to keep my adorable half-orc face pretty as a rock would reallllly help :P
For character submissions, maybe I can ask our GM Borum if he'd like to join, you can take a look at his style of roleplaying here Borum's Game :) just a suggestion.

Lilandra,
Glad you are having fun!
Also, with regards to the scrolls, you can be more creative. If you voice these concerns to the party, you may find out some non evil uses for disposing of the scrolls without burning them.

If it is ok, I'd like to talk about the applicants in spoilers just between us and you DM if that's ok?
"Sunny" |
Whew! An' that be th' longest straight talkin' I ever did done! (^_~)

Soooo...how many folks actually have thrown their hat in't the ring?
I'm thinkin' t'would be nice t'maybe have a couple join, if'n every one else be of a same mind.
O'course, this still don't ease the burden on poor DM- The Infinite Watery Grave of makin' that choice.... >_>

What I meant by what I said was that ive been in games where everyone plays heavy hitters me and my brother play in a game where the gm is playing a ranger with two handed weapons and wants to be the heavy hitter but he competes with a wolf shaman transforming to a huge wolf and his large animal companion, and a Cavalier just makes boring gaming
Anyways I think more utility as seen with a ranger and an oracle would be nice but I havent really looked at the submissions only seen the multiple characters trying to make big hitters

APPEARANCE
A leanly muscled man with a haggard but no doubt attractive face, Isaac is a well-traveled mercenary of sorts, earning some small renown as a swordfighter and hunter of local orc maruaders. He is 5'6" tall with a decent build and a long braid of brown hair and one green eye and one brown. His ears are pointed like his mother's, but he maintains an overall human build.
Dex 18 (Including Human +2)
Con 11
Int 15
Wis 15
Cha 10
I went with standard gunslinger with alignment LG, pistol starter with a short sword for backup. Trained in Acrobatics, Bluff, Craft(Alchemy), Heal, Perception, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand and Survival. (Extra skill from favored class.)
There's the bare bones of it.
EDIT: Feats, forgot the feats. Went with Point Blank Shot and Extra Grit.
STR 10
DEX 15
CON 11
INT 18 (Including Human +2)
WIS 15
CHA 10
Trained skills are as follows: Appraise, Knowledge(Arcana), Knowledge(Religion), Knowledge(The Planes), Linguistics, Sense Motive and Spellcraft.
His feats shall be Weapon Focus(Short Sword) and Spell Focus(Evocation).
His background is uncertain at the moment, but I'm thinking a scholarly type who got sick of reading about adventuring and decided to do it himself. Very self-assured and often feels the need for in-depth explanations of lore or arcane theory even if nobody's interested.
Lizardfolk cleric?

Sunny I think gm wants us to vote here lol
Ill put three votes in just so you have 3 different options
Descending Order
1.Half Elf Ranger
2.Bard Oracle
3. Scroll Master Wizard
My reasons I hate tieflings lol bad expierences they just seem broken as hell,
I know the ranger and hes a very good roleplayer and pretty amazing person
No idea what psions are and considering everyones else reactions just vote no
Bard/oracle just seems interesting
HATE GUNSLINGERS shouldnt have been made
Scroll master would be a pretty neat chracter
NO NO NO NO NO
"Sunny" |
"Blergle, blargle, mumble, grumble..." >_<
The Teifling Magus, Bard Oracel and Psion Shaper get the higher votes simply for having finished character pages and hence making your job as Dm easier. In next descending order run the Gunslinger, Scroll Master Wizard and then Half-Elf ranger.
Now, the explanation of why I've listed them in the orders I have. First in the order is the one I'd be most interested to see how the class played. So the Magus as a class I think needs to be seen more, the same with the Gunslinger.
For purely illogical and personal gripe reasons that make absolutely no sense (I freely admit to now) I hate Psionics....it's irrational and I can't really give a reason, *Hangs head* Hence why the Psion shaper gets pushed to the bottom of the choice list.
The Bard oracle is interesting, simply again to see how the new Oracle class brings different things to the mix. Hence the same for the Scroll master. This, unfortunately by the process of elimination puts the Psion and the ranger at the bottom of both choice lists. :(
I understand I haven't given a 'Vote' as such, but I hope my words have given my reasons, meaning and emotions behind them. Again, as a player, I thank yourself for the time and effort you are giving to we players and I again envy you not the decision you have to make in regards who wins and who loses. *Bows*
"Yah...so everything I were sayin' over there I pretty much be sayin' over here." >_>
Bardolin |
Cool! I got in!
thanks guys I'll try my best.
It's way past bedtime here, so I'll ponder about my entrance while sleeping, I was thinking something with humor, any hint is appreciated.
Got a few questions.
1) haven't found any reference about how to roll HP. is it rolled each level 2d8 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10 or is it max at first and then rolled 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
2) there are two paladins in the group, but I guess they are not overt about it, so I guess I don't recognize them as such. (ok not a question, but roll with me)
3) the aquatic elf is recognizable as such or does she look just like an elf? Knowledge geography/nature (same modifier) 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Dell Franklin |
Ah, it feels so good to be in. Thanks for the select.
HP: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
So, plus his con modifier that gives him 14 HP.
As for Dell's presence at the Salt Fortress, I'm thinking he's chasing some rare scroll or scrap of ancient lore that he heard was in the fortress, only it turned out to be worthless to him. He'll decide to move on and ask the party if they'd mind having his company. How does that sound?
Bardolin |
Since Bardolin just puts a foot in front of the other chasing the next cool thing he sees, there is no real reason for him to be at the salt fortress, other than just fate.
Since the party is currently crossing the fortress I pictured myself a scene where Bardolin run into them in some street/yard in his clumsy way, when he suss out the party is about for adventure and mystery he will stick to them no matter what
If nobody stops me, saying the above is a crappy idea, I'll be able to write my entrance in a coupple of hrs
You guys are cool with Half-orcs right? :P lolz
Me mommy used to say that we half-thing are special, and stupid kids that laugh at us are just scared of that.
