I wanted to be certain in case you wanted to behave differently if they weren't
The one with the ilo points to the cave
"Go on walk. Let's not mess around so we can keep this civil"
They keep their guns on you but they don't push or hit you if you don't resist. Soon you're all out of earshot of the vehicle.
As you near him he begins to talk
"Strange accents. Don't know your own planet's name. The driver who says he's in charge but holds no rank. Holds no rank but made up a story about having to change his armour."
The man took a deep breath touching his forehead with the hand of his bionic arm
"At best you are cowards and fools. At worst you are agents of the enemy. No matter, either way our allies will get the information from you"
It's only when your eyes have grown adjusted to the darkness of the cave that you see the second figure even though it. It is merely a black shadow on a back background standing but twenty meters in front of you, in the centre of the cave. It's hard to make out, but it seems to be unnaturally slender, wearing spiked armour and carrying a similarly slender spiked rifle.
I'll give you a little time to respond to the general before I go on. The cave seems to go deeper, but it's dark and you cannot tell.
@Cort & Garion - while you are out of earshot of the rest please try not to react to what is happening to the rest of them. I'm not going to continue hiding everything that happens to them under spoilers, it would be unreasonable to ask everyone else to do the same. Since Garion hasn't been posting he will follow Cort's lead. I'll take it Miriam is carrying all the extra weapons, and will stay in cohesion with Garion unless instructed otherwise
From within the hidden compartment all Cort, Garion and the more junour members of the team hear is the group marching off and the sound of metal on metal moving lightly for a couple of seconds. Then all goes silent.
Garion informs the others that it must have been the shutters of the supply depo being closed down.
GM Larkin
Awareness: 1d100 ⇒ 88
Court notices 4 well armed and armoured soldiers on the tower building in the center of the complex. The squad steam to be paying too much attention to the others to notice Cort and Garion
Cort finds himself standing between the vehicle and the supplies building, which seems to be locked up. Behind him he can see the rest of the Heghland guardsmen standing at the mouth of the cave with Dominate soldiers behind them aiming their weapons at them.
Wikvaya Shoodii
Perception {38 = 48 Perc - 10 modifier}: 1d100 ⇒ 87
Wikvaya stays silent and gives away nothing, waiting for another of his teammates to respond and wondering what spirit he angered that he thought agreeing to this was, in any way, a good idea.
GM Larkin
"You wish us to take these Mon-keigh?" the darkened figure responded, it's voice both beautiful and harsh.
"Consider them a gift" General Scarus responded "I would apreciate it if you return to me the armour and any information you can get from them"
@Cort & Garion - I forgot to mention that one of the men in the tower has an autocannon
Jermaie Dael
Jermaie stays silent as he is led through the caves, wanting to say a whole lot of things to this general, wanting nothing more than to wring the neck of the evil traitor, but forcing himself to keep silent.
Perception:39-10=29: 1d100 ⇒ 26 That's a pass.
The sight of the dark xeno, however, and the memories that begin flying back to him, of Narine and all his comrades that were massacred, even of the poor two henchmen butchered at their hands, fills him with total vehemence. His visage darkens in absolute rage.
"So, general," you'd let these creatures have us, torture us, butcher us and yet you'd call us cowards? Hah! You don't have it in you to kill us yourself, so you let your dogs fetch us."
Jermaie starts edging to the side, his eyes trained solely on the general's. "You want to know where I'm from, then? It's a land called Heghland. Now, I'm sure you've never heard of it, so I'll let you know. On Heghland, a man's life was his own. Stories passed down from generations of the men who fought the beasts that prowl the lands. I've fought the great Dael, master of the hunt of the Craglands, and I've lived to tell the whole sodding tale.
On Heghland, a man who passed the sentence would swing the sword. He'd be called a coward if he used his dogs to kill a man he could kill himself. So tell me, if you're gonna be the man to kill me, why not do it with honor? You've got a sword there. Well, use it. If you want to know who we are, then I'll tell you with my last dying breaths, but it'll be one cold day in hell I'll let those things touch me without a fight."
Jermaie's face is a mask of defiance, yet inside his mind quivers with fear. Come on you ugly bastard, come at me, just come closer," Jermaie thinks as he moves backwards.
So here's the thing. I'm not sure if Cormaeg had to roll to see the others prowling around back there, but if Jermaie does too he'll be moving backwards, trying to get a clear line of sight between the cave and the truck. While this whole boastful challenge really is suicidal, Jermaie's trying to get the general to identify himself and provoke him enough to come closer to Jermaie.
I may have just gotten myself butchered on the spot, and I guess I'd rather not get everyone else killed at the same time, but I felt like being a little bit proactive. Jermaie's hate for the freaking xenos scum and his unwillingness to die at these thing's hands makes this a rather logical reaction in my mind, but GM, I ask you to please warn me if my antics are about to get the entire party killed. Myself? Fine, but I'd rather not be the cause of an almost TPK.
GM Larkin
@Jermaie - In honesty I was afraid that you'd end up being torchered before you tried something. Your position is precarious either way, best you can hope for is to use the element of surprise to get out of it. I can't guarantee anyone's safety (where would the fun be in that). I can only say that if others die, I won't be blaming you.
Cormeg didn't have to roll, that was me informing everyone that the weapons they dropped were gone and trying to bring the two groups of PCs a bit closer together
Jermaie spotted Cormeg's prolonged glance behind him and followed it. Seeing Cort and Garion creeping up behind everyone, he launches himself into a speech. Moving back as he talks is responded to by one of the stormtroopers roughly pushing him forward again
@Jermaie - You don't seem to have any skills that would help get the General out after you. I'm thinking a fellowship test at -20 for untrained, but I'll give you +10 for RP/taking the iniative. So that's a -10 Fel test to draw the general to you
@Cort - There is absolutely no cover directly between the APC and the cave, but you can go east and use the mountain as cove on your approach. Doing this you'll stop being able to see directly into the cave (so won't have any chance of seeing the General). Also if you follow this route, it hooks around so you won't be able to see anyone very quickly.
Following the mountain face the closest you can get is 36m from the closest Storm Trooper
Bad Guy Awareness to oppose Cort's stealth: 1d100 ⇒ 29I'm going to give them a significant negative modifier due to Jermaie's antics
One of the guards catches a glimpse of movement in the corner of his eye. But only has a moment to glance before Jermaie gets too close to him and he has to shove the Heghlander away.
Garion and Miriam move up around the mountain wall to a point merely 10 meters away from the closest storm trooper, but completely out of sight of everyone but Cort and Harmon.
"All very amusing" the shadowy xenos responds "I will inform the kindred. We will take your gifts"
And the creature turns, disappearing into the darkness.
I'll wait for Jarmaie's roll to see Scarus's reaction
GM Larkin
"Oh such a nice speech, man of honor" General Scarus's puts a peculiar emphasis on the word honor "I wonder if you know for whom you now fight? The god emperor is a husk of a man on a throne light years away, unable to move or speak. From their Terra the high lords tax entire sectors into starvation and send millions to die in their armies without ever seeing the horror of battle themselves. Lord Severus and his people fight only for freedom. Do not speak to me of honor when your only task is to subjugate my people and kill those defending their rights."
Through all this the man does not move from his spot at the cave wall
@Cort - for "spray and pray" your choices are Suppressive Fire, which has the greatest chance of stopping 1 group of storm troopers from firing, or Full-Auto burst which has the greatest chance of hitting some of them. Keep in mind that they are wearing AP 6 so will have a quite a lot of soak and you will have a hard time dropping 1 with your opening barrage, even if you funnel all your shots into only one of them
GM Larkin
I'm not sure where you got your figures from but here's the calculations. BS 58 +20 full aim +30 unaware target +10 close range +5 comrade -20 suppressing fire = target 103 = 9 DoS with 1 hit for every 2 DoS = 5 hits
So you need 1 more damage roll
Random Hits(ST 3 has the melta gun): 5d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 6, 1) = 13 #1 is in trouble
Pinning Tests(-20 WP): 6d100 ⇒ (67, 96, 14, 77, 18, 82) = 354
Nerves of Steel(-20 WP): 6d100 ⇒ (36, 79, 68, 52, 46, 29) = 310
GM Larkin
You can always aim it just takes more time. Some GM's might disallow aiming with suppressing fire, but it makes sense to me
Cort outputs a massive amount of fire clipping several of the storm troopers and leaving them all shocked and looking for cover.
In the shock of what has just happened all the Dominate troops are going to miss a round. Everyone else can go in any order. Garion is going to charge the closest storm trooper as Miriam runs to Eirik laden in boltguns, primitive weapons, a stormbolter and a missile launcher. It takes a half action to retrieve 1 weapon from her, but you are all standing out in the open right now.
I'm working on the map but my editor is giving me trouble. I'll get it up ASAP
GM Larkin
The map and It's Key are updated here
There's a picture of the General on the home page now
@Cormeg - I'll take that to mean half action move to Miriam, half action equip missile launcher
Can everyone also give me initiative while they tell me what they're doing this turn
Cort Darfrain

Jermaie smiles in wicked delight as Cort opens up with the autogun bathing the cavern in weapon's fire. His eyes still stay fixed on the general, the hypocrite of a man who lets his subjects suffer and die under the blade of the dreadful xenos, who's war for independence has cost more to the sector than the lords of Terra ever could, whose blasted mouth dared defame the blessed Emperor, the great man of Heghland's sun. Screaming at the top of his lungs, forgoing even to grab his weapon for it would take too long and the element of surprise had to be taken advantage of, Jermaie spurs himself towards the General, running straight at him and trying to pin him to the wall.
(Full Round)Charge and Grapple; Weapon Skill:39+30(berserk charge)=69: 1d100 ⇒ 46
That's four degrees of success. I'm not sure if the duelist talent works with a grapple, even though it's a weapon skill test, but if it does, it's an extra two degrees of success. Here's the relevant text: "While engaged in melee with only a single opponent
who is not engaged in melee with anyone else, this character
counts as scoring an additional two Degrees of Success on his
successful Weapon Skill Tests."
Sure, it might have been easier to shoot the man, but I'm guessing he's got some good armor, and I'd rather not give him the chance to pull that sword out to skewer us. If I can get that sword off of him, we might get somewhere. Worst case scenario, my antics will buy us some time to take out the storm troopers without having to worry about a sword coming to skewer us from behind.
GM Larkin
@Cort - I'll take that as your first round action after the supprise round
@Eirik - You're forgetting a bit. You'll need to take a half action to grab your weapon and a half action to fire, so you won't be able to aim. You didn't say if it was semi-auto or single shot, so I don't know what the associated modifier is, however, that is certainly a miss I'm afraid

Wikvaya heads towards Miriam in the sudden explosion of weapon fire, making note of the enemy's position. Unwilling to exit the cave and into open ground, he heads towards Garion's comrade and takes a weapon from her, prepared to fight in what may be his last battle.
Does Miriam have any grenades? In any case, half-action to move to her, half-action to get a weapon. I'll take the stormbolter if the grenades aren't possible. I'm assuming I can use it even without Weapon Training (Bolt) if it's a favored weapon. I'm also assuming I still have my medical equipment and dosages on me.
Cormaeg MacCammon.
That is correct. It just struck me that I don't know if it is loaded or not, I guess I can tell if it is loaded but not what it is with, I don't know enough about weapons to make any assumptions here.

Miriam has no grenades. The Dominate stormtroopers didn't relieve you of your grenades and knives. Yes you still have your medical supplies. You can use any weapon without weapon training, but at a -20. It being the regiment favoured weapon does nothing, I'm afraid. Why don't you have weapon training(bolt)? You should have started with it, otherwise you wouldn't have been able to use your bolt gun. You got it from your regiment training.
That is correct. It just struck me that I don't know if it is loaded or not, I guess I can tell if it is loaded but not what it is with, I don't know enough about weapons to make any assumptions here.
You have all the ammo for the weapon you grabbed, so all the missiles you had before. I believe it is loaded with a frag missile
@All - Also I completely forgot to account for darkness before. That's a -20 to hit anyone outside the cave and a -30 inside the cave
GM Larkin
