The Mummy's Mask

Seven years ago, Pharaoh Khemet III, the Ruby Prince, formally opened Osirion's ancient tombs and burial sites to foreign explorers. Khemet III understood that adventurers who've traveled great distances in search of treasure typically do not return from whence they came to sell their discoveries. Instead, they typically sell or trade what they do not keep as quickly as possible at the closest civilized community. The Ruby Prince's policy has attracted not only explorers to the desert nation of Osirion, but also countless scholars, private collectors, special interest groups such as the Pathfinder Society, and financial interests from all across the Inner Sea. A minor industry has sprung up just to support visiting explorers, and an even larger infrastructure has come into being to serve foreign investors and traders. Every opening of a major site has heralded an economic boon, for the local area and Osirion as a whole.

And the Necropolis of Wati is next!

I'm opening recruitment for a Mummy's Mask game. I'm looking for a handful of brave adventurers to explore the ancient land of Osirion. This will be the Adventure Path, starting with Book One: The Half-Dead City. The game opens up in the city of Wati, with the characters as members of an adventuring group about to take part in a lottery to determine which part of an old necropolis they'll be allowed to loot...er, exploit...er, explore!

Posting requirements

- Post once per day.
- Play nicely with others.
- If you have a question about the rules, speak up.
- I will be rolling perception and initiative for the group.
- I'm in the EST time zone, but I'm happy to accept players from anywhere. If posting is a little slow sometimes because of odd hours, we'll deal. (In my experience it's never that bad.)

Character Creation Guidelines

Download and read the Player's Guide!

No third party products of any kind will be considered.

Attributes: 25 point buy

Races: Core encouraged, though any race allowed.

Classes: Core, Base, and Hybrid classes allowed.

Alignments: Any.

Traits: One campaign and two others. No drawbacks.

Starting Level: One

Starting gold: Max

Starting HP: Max. Subsequent levels will be half hit die +1.

Applications

I'll be accepting 5-6 characters. There are two spots reserved. The players have not decided what they're playing just yet, but as they do, they'll post. I believe both are holding off until they see some character concepts and what the group needs.

Complete applications will include stat block, back-story, description, and how your character came to Wati. The most important thing, for me, is how you expect your character will interact with the group and in the game. Are they here to preserve history, honor the dead, make some gold, find ancient lore?

I'm not expecting or looking for hyper-optimized characters. On the other hand, making exceptionally poorly optimized characters on the grounds that doing so is "role-playing" is also discouraged (or will at least be ignored.) Given the amount of characters in the party and the point-buy, encounters will be adjusted accordingly.

Applications will be open until Monday, June 29th.

Questions and Applications Welcome! Please keep role-playing to a minimum within the recruitment thread. Though if you feel some is warranted to illustrate character expectations, that would be fine. Just don't clutter the thread and scare off newcomers.

I am thinking oradin, Healer/tank.

Cool! I have to adjust my character's stats but other than that, I have everything ready!

I'll be playing an aasimar paladin of Anubis.

I am thinking along the lines of a wizard or bard, either would be human.

Welp, here is my character. I have been wanting to try out this campaign for a while and I think this would be a fun and interesting character to play through it.

Backstory:

Dro'ka is my name, plundering has been my game. Ever since I was a little tyke I've been getting myself into trouble and slipping into ruins and bedrooms alike to borrow their treasures. Of course, there have been many a time I've screwed up and gotten caught but with this kind of territory comes a quick mind and head full of lies. So far I have escaped the law and I feel like it won't catch up to me soon.
Dro'ka Zahil was born born to a poor merchant family but was never good at plying the trade. He could sell sand to slave if he wanted but for the life of him he didn't have an eye for the value of things. Thus his mother gave up on him and told him to keep himself busy and not in trouble. This left him going about doing what he wanted and what he wanted was adventure and a bit of fun.

Throughout his childhood he would slip into caravans that were going out to the pyramids, going to other cities, or just simply slipping himself into noble houses just for the fun of it. He believed that life was a test and he aimed to succeed. He picked up languages along the way, be it from folklore or from the pyramids themselves. He was always curious and that curiosity kept him busy even when he wasn't getting into trouble.

He showed no sign of slowing down as he grew up but he did at least learn how to handle a few weapons. He began to learn how to stalk his targets and figure out their weaknesses. He even learned how to disguise himself so he didn't have to worry bout it if he was seen. He didn't steal most of the these days, at least from those of the living. He instead just enjoyed the challenge. But he was always looking and waiting for another challenge or a big payoff that may let him enjoy the riches of those he toyed with.

Personality:

Always up for a bit of fun, especially if it involves a little danger or isn't exactly legal. He can be a little bit of a flirt but typically he only does so when is playing a con or a attempting to get close to a target. Apart from that he is a bit of a genuine romantic when he actually finds someone to go after but so far his own antics bite him in the ass in that department.

Very interested, are you allowing any Unchained material?

Unchained classes will be considered. I won't be using anything else from the Unchained material.

Okay. Thank you for answering my question! I'll have the updated stats up tomorrow! And thank you for this opportunity!

Here's my background. Will update the character's stats to match the requirements tonight.

Elexsanda Sylmat was born to a well-known family in Wati, and was coddled until her 16th birthday, when she began having her visions. Each night, she would
awake screaming from a nightmare about undead creatures, graverobbers, and disturbed tombs. Her family took her to every healer they could find, but no one
had answers for them. That is, until they stumbled upon a blind beggar who, upon seeing Elexsanda, told her to look to the old gods for guidance, to save her from
her nightmares. Despite the fact that the old gods hadn't been actively revered in many years, Elexsanda and her parents were able to find a small shrine to Anubis
within a larger temple to the dual-faced god Nethys. When Elexsana stood before the statue of the jackal-faced god, she experienced the most powerful vision
to date... a clear image of a tomb bearing her family's name, ransacked and crawling with undead creatures.
From that moment, Elexsanda vowed to search out this ancient tomb and save her ancestors from their fates as horrid, undead creatures. With the help of Anubis
and the priests in the temple of Nethys, over the next several years, Elexsanda was able to develope much stronger visions, and control when and how they
occurred. She was even able to save her parents from an assassination attempt which she foresaw through one of her visions... when the assassin came to their
home, she simply hid herself, waiting until he was just outside her parents' door, and burned him alive with a spell of fire.
Now, years later, Elexsanda has experienced another vision, this one of a path that she may take to find the lost tomb of her ancestors. However, it would seem
that other groups also have their eye on the rumored tomb, and Elexsanda has determined that joining a party of adventurers will be the most direct way to reach
her family's tomb.

Presenting Setesh Bantling, Half-Elven melee-based alchemist (and part-time trap-finder) for consideration :-)

I'd be interested in running a Halfling Twf Ranger...I think, that sounds fun, yeah.

Dotting.... I have a bunch of ideas that all use variant multiclassing, lol. I'm still interested in this AP though (even though that seems to be off the table), so I'm going to think about what else I might be in the mood to play...

Here's my half-orc necromancer, looking for some secrets regarding the boundaries between life and death! She'd applied to an earlier Mummy's Mask game, and so should have everything you're looking for - I think I'd just need to adjust her stats, as she has a lower point buy build.

dot. Thanks for offering a full week for recruitment - don't have to rush a concept to submission.

Description: Elexsanda came from a well-to-do family, and so she learned at an early age how to dress well and be proper. She keeps a semblance of that even now, as an aspiring adventurer. Her clothes are always neat and clean, and she will take time each night to assure that they stay that way. She has deeply tanned skin from years under the bright sun (though very little of that was in the open desert... she was fond of tanning herself on the roof of her parents' estate). She now wears the robes and headgear of a seer of the church of Nethys, which she believes to be the modern interpretation of the ancient goddess Nepthys. Accordingly, her outfit is white on one side and black on the other. She often wears face paint to match her outfit as well. She truly serves Nepthys' son, Anubis, and carries a jackal mask as well. She carries little in the way of weaponry, relying on her magical skills and her allies to keep her safe.

How she came to Wati: Elexsanda was born and raised in the opulence of Wati's aristocracy, and knows the affluent parts of the city well, though she's relatively unfamiliar with the slums.

Background again to keep everything together:

My submission with Background.

I plan on making him a Barbarian/Rogue in equal levels. Not sure if I will PRC, time will tell.

Farid Heydar:

Failed Son

Background:
Qadira is a kingdom with the power of a sprawling empire at its back. It is a land of richness with rivers of gold flowing through it from all corners of Golarian. Indeed the kingdom holds more wealth than any other three kingdoms on the Inner Sea. As much as it is a land of wealth and plenty it is also a harsh desert realm. It is a land where the weak are enslaved and if they are lucky simply die.
Merchants and merchant caravans travel far and wide across, through and beyond Qadira. Little seen and even more little thought of are the nomads of this land. The people who have for millennia lived off of the land and its harsh environs sometimes hostile and sometimes friendly to the trade caravans these people are not respected but they are feared by those caravans who fail to bring enough protection along the road with them.

Farid Heydar is the first son Behrouz Heydar and his only son, Farid’s mother having died in childbirth. Behrouz is a powerful warrior in the tribe and was overjoyed that at the very least his dearly departed wife brought him a healthy son. Farid’s youth was a difficult one, learning how to live in the harsh desert environment. Most important was the way of the blade, in this place those who cannot fight will die. The barbarian tribes do not live in the cities of Qadira, they live strong and proud away from the rules of the government and so must their children. Farid was enamored of the trade caravans that came and went to the oases controlled by his people. Those with appropriate protection were either ignored or traded with those without were fair game. Farid longed to live in the cities he could see in the distance along the travels of the tribe away from the oases.

Behrouz sensed this weakness in his son but ignored it believing that over time Farid would come to accept his fate as all men must. Indeed Farid did show promise with the blade and perhaps would one day be worthy of the deeds Behrouz accomplished before him. As the years went by though Farid did not change his longing never went away and the desire to live among the tribe became less and less. At 14 it was time for him to pass the tests into manhood. One full week with only a waterskin smallclothes and one weapon did the new crop of men need to complete to survive.

Farid returned to the tribe after only two days, he abandoned his fellows and refused to return to the trial. Behrouz was enraged. He sought to slay his son that had brought him so much shame to him. The tribes elder, Aurang Atash decided instead to banish Farid. Aurang knew that such shame would undermine Behrouz’s attempts to claim leadership over the tribe. Behrouz in anger gave Farid all of his possessions and vowed to reclaim his honor lost by his only son. Farid was cast out of the tribe and told that to return would result in death.

Farid clearly misread how important the test was. He did not want this life though he also did not want to be banished. He fled the tribe moving towards the nearest city Katheer. For the first time Farid entered the city he so longed to go to. As a barbarian youth who could not read and was improperly dressed he was not allowed to go into any area of the city where the wealthy and privileged lived. Indeed he was forced into the squalor of the slums, not the reception Farid expected. The travelers told of the rivers of gold and silk and spice to be found in the cities - what was this smelly dirty place he had entered! With no way to go back and no ability to be accepted into the hierarchy as a barbarian Farid did the only thing he could, he resorted to stealing.
Stealing was similar to raiding in many ways one took what they wanted from those who could not hold onto what they had. Initially Farid would challenge his opponents but this did not last long as he barely escaped with his life a few times. Farid was amazed at the fighting prowess of the city people he thought them all to be soft! Some carried no blade and some were almost as skilled as his tribesmen. It was often in the intervening months that Farid had to nurse his wounds for days at a time before venturing out again. He was a loner as even the street rats did not want to associate with a barbarian from the wastes.

Farid continued to learn the ways of the streets slowly, he learned that it was wiser to sneak and steal then to openly challenge all comers. Indeed Farid had started to finally learn his way around when the city guard began a sweep of the slums. Slavers were looking for merchandise and no one cared where the slaves came from especially considering the poor were of little regard to the rich. Farid who was still not streetwise enough to avoid the sweepers was picked up by the guard and led away in chains!

The slave caravan brought Farid to the city of Sedeq to the slave markets. Farid was miserable, how could he have fallen so low? Why did he fail to pass the test of manhood he should have listened to his father but it was too late for that. He was sold to a property master along with an older gentleman who was a convicted criminal. This criminal saw in Farid a target ripe for exploitation. Amin Sattar was his name. He knew that he lucked out, a young back to aid him in his endeavors he could teach this youth much, not only that but to be sold to a noble house, it would be easy to break out! Moreover the barbarian youth would be able to aid Amin in surviving in the wastes between cities, a requirement to get away from enslavement.

The nobleman was successful merchant from the city of Gurat. After a few months of back breaking labor in the house of the nobleman Darius Zia, Amin was able to convince Farid that they should escape together. The penalty of being caught escaping was losing a hand and Farid was not interested in having that happen. However, in the night a few weeks later Amin carried Farid’s sleeping form to the very walls of Darius’ grounds. It seemed that again Farid had no control over his life. He was forced to flee with Amin. Luckily Amin knew what he was doing and both were able to escape with their lives (and hands) intact. Farid even as a callow youth of almost 16 knew that they needed to get out of Gurat completely.

Farid and Amin with but the clothes on their backs snuck out of Gurat in a caravan by hiding in baskets of silks. The road was long and winding and both Amin and Farid were able to steal what they needed to survive and get away from the caravan. Freedom had never been so sweet! Farid was able to help Amin survive in the desert. Using tactics Farid knew from his youth they raided small caravans with a combination of stealth and steel. Farid and Amin’s long journey fially brought them to Lopal where Amin promised to teach Farid what he knew of the streets. Indeed for two long years Amin was mentor and almost a father to Farid. After accumulating a great deal of wealth together and establishing themselves in the local thieves guild Amin taught Farid one last lesson, trust no one. Amin vanished in the middle of the night, leaving Farid his sword, his buckler some clothes and waterskin. He left a note that presumably mocked Farid but the barbarian could not read it. Farid attempted to track Amin down but it seemed he had fled the city.
Farid became even more bitter and disillusioned. He was almost ready to kill himself when he realized that revenge was a stronger emotion than pity. Farid was determined to gain vengeance against Amin and eventually against Darius for enslaving him. Farid took six months to “reacquire” the wealth taken by Amin so he would appear more respectable and took on a job as a merchant guard for caravans. He was able to travel back and forth across Qadira with less difficulty than he would have on his own he was also able to perfect his sleight of hand skills on those around him. After three years of travel Farid was no closer to finding Amin.

Finally a month ago Farid was given a tip, Amin was rumored to have drifted to the Inner Sea region attracted to a scam to rob the riches of the Tombs of the Great Pharaoh. Farid set his course for the Osirion city of Wati.

Something about the place sets him on edge, still he gets to the grim task of looking for his man. Finding nothing so far, Farid has started looking for work to supplement his meager savings. Whether it be honest work or tomb robbing, Farid is up for anything that pays.

Personality:

Farid is an angry young man. He has very little trust in his fellow man. He blames others for the mistakes in his life not recognizing how his own choices have led to his current situation. Farid has absolutely no respect for law and bends or outright breaks laws when he is able to. Farid has gotten a bit wiser (though not much) and is much less impetuous than he was just a few years ago. His driving goal is to gain vengeance – after that is accomplished it is pretty clear that Farid has no idea what to do with himself.

He has a low Wisdom so is fairly gullible but he has a pretty good Intelligence score so he is also smart so can figure out puzzles and problems with the proper amount of time. Farid cannot read and it bothers him so he pretends that he actually understands what things say when he does not (he can distinguish prices though). Farid seeks vengeance against those who have done him wrong and will stop at almost nothing to get it.

He is tough and as a barbarian from the desert wastes has pretty strong survival skills. Farid is not very cultured though he is becoming more streetwise especially since Amin’s teachings. Farid has a somewhat lively personality but he would not really stand out in a crowd. Farid has decent strength and is fairly agile.

As a barbarian he is somewhat reckless though he will not rage in combat unless he absolutely has to as he realizes that blind rage reduces his ability to think quickly in a situation. Farid trusts no one as a result of his betrayal at the hands of Amin and his (imagined) betrayal at the hands of his tribe. He holds a grudge against his people and would love to pay them back for his ill treatment (that he refuses to acknowledge that he brought upon himself).

Handicapped Character? (provided the handicap isn't too problematic or game breaking)

Crunch for Anton Narcellus, Suli Brawler. Background will be up tomorrow at some point.

Basic concept is his Taldoran mother was an adventurer who had a romance with a genie of some sort while traveling about Osirion. He has come to Wati specifically for the purpose of exploring the tombs, and learn something of his heritage.

Presenting Omar for consideration, ranged DPS/ trap expert/ and later secondary divine caster (plan to multi-class with cleric).

Wait... as long as we play well with others can we play an Evil aligned character (thinking an Antipaladin of Sekhmet)?

No drawbacks are allowed, so as long as the "handicap" comes with no mechanical disadvantages, go for it.

Antipaladin is not an approved class. But evil is fine.

A Couple of Notes:

-I've seen a few character sheets with "eastern armor" on them. That's fine. Given the current nature of Osirian economy, foreign armor and weapons aren't entirely unknown. But I also don't mind "reskinning" armor.

As an example: Kikko armor (traditionally a Japanese style of armor) is simply Brigandine, which was common in many cultures. And would be very common in Osirion.

-The second, and more important thing: Please read the AP Guide. The theme of The Mummy's Mask is Pulp Adventure. I'd suggest taking inspiration from movies like The Mummy, Indiana Jones, and even The Shadow or The Phantom. (Or maybe skip those last two movies and read their stuff, depending on taste.) The characters in these stories tend not to be doing things for noble reasons even if they are, at heart deep down, good people. I expect characters that may be morally flexible that, when it comes down to the safety of the entire world, will make the right choice.

It's very important that the characters fit the theme of the AP. This isn't to say that morally inflexible characters can't fit into the game. Just that it's even more important that you make it clear how you think the character will interact with the rest of the group.

Evil alignments are allowed but the class isn't? Might I inquire why?

Ok, I don't have time to do a full write up right now but I'm going to submit a haunted ancestors oracle with the Blood of Pharoahs trait. Hopefully he can fill the sort of mysterious/occult figure trope, but he should end up with some melee ability as well.

He won't be very forthcoming about his motivations (being mysterious and all) but they will be connected to his lineage.

Rysky wrote:

As noted in the first post allowed classes are Core, Base, and Hybrid. Alternate classes are not. If you're interested in an "Paladin of Sekhmet" then Warpriest is available.

Any alignment is allowed though some are more appropriate than others. I won't rule out Lawful Good or Chaotic Evil, but they'll require a little bit more work to fit into a traditional pulp adventuring group. They aren't impossible, but unlike some other character concepts, you'll have to demonstrate that you understand how they'll work with the group and how they fit the theme of the game.

I'm the player of Khere. After reading your notes, I was wondering if I could change the character I'm submitting. I'll be submitting an ifrit inquisitor of Sekhmet searching for ancient lore concerning her goddess. But first wanted to check if it was okay if I change my submission first.

Also her outfit is similar to those worn in Anicent Egypt: the ones that left the breasts bare. Is that okay as well? I was trying to be thematic.

GM- since you're on.... Before I invest the time building, does my core concept seem in keeping with what you're looking for?

Changes in character submissions are fine. You have till next Monday to submit whatever you want. I'd prefer people not submit multiple characters at the same time but it's a long week. If inspiration happens and you decide you want to play something else, feel free.

As to your second question: While I'm fine with adult themes in the game, I'd suggest leaving that out. I'm unclear what it adds. Also, note that while I'm perfectly okay with men playing female characters, I've found that very few men play females appropriately, especially online. I am substantially less likely to take a character like this unless it's very clear that the character will be played well.

Zagathoth wrote:

Looks fine so far.

Thank you for answering my question! I have to redo her stats and inventory but she's pretty much ready to go. The concept is that upon finding a set of ancient scrolls she has become obsessed with learning more about Sekhmet. She believes that it is her sacred duty to restore worship of She Who Mauls (this is an actual title of Sekhmet) and that in addition she seeks to use holy fiery powers to burn the wicked in the name of the Lady of Slaughter. Power and knowledge are what she hopes to find, as well as have some adventure due to working in a dusty old library for a good bit of her life.

Is this concept okay and does it fit what you're looking for?

As for het outfit since Osirion is greatly inspired and influenced by Ancient Egypt I was trying to give her clothes that would be appropriate in either setting and I did a great deal of research of Ancient Egyptian fasions and attire. The outfit is not meant to be sexual in any way. I merely picked it as I was trying to fit the style of the setting's influence.

Here's my character, Saedue.

I started playing the first scenario of the AP a few months ago, but we just finished the first pyramid when the GM poofed out...

Scarab Sages

Here's Vidic Votev. Stranger in a strange land whose death sparked the next chapter in his life. I'll have to add a trait, a little more gear and bump up a stat on his stat block but other than that he's good to go.

Silver Crusade

how do you feel about occult classes?

A Couple of Notes:

-I've seen a few character sheets with "eastern armor" on them. That's fine. Given the current nature of Osirian economy, foreign armor and weapons aren't entirely unknown. But I also don't mind "reskinning" armor.

As an example: Kikko armor (traditionally a Japanese style of armor) is simply Brigandine, which was common in many cultures. And would be very common in Osirion.

I have no problem with changing names of items or the item itself to fit the theme.

This character is more concerned with the pleasureable aspects one can experience in Wati. I picture him evolving into someone reminiscent of Jacques Sauniere from "The Davinci Code".

I will not be descibing any of his religious activities in detail and if you have perused Arshea's obidiences you will understand why.

As the group dynamic evolves he will become more loyal to them than the city he loves. i.e He is not the holier than thou inflexible paladin.

I suck at backstories and creative writing in general. But I believe that this character would make a valuable addition to any party of adventurers.

The concept is fine. Keep in mind that the setting is far more like Egypt in the 1800's rather than ancient Egypt. It's not quite as modern, but Ancient Osirion is about as long gone as Ancient Egypt was then. Such antique armor would stand out in "modern" Osirion.

Additionally, while you may not have chosen it to be sexual, it's certainly a red flag when it comes to playing female characters appropriately. It's not a game breaker, just note that it'll take some extra work to convince me.

Sorry, we won't be using them in this game.

For those that aren't good at writing backgrounds, do not fear! While I don't mind long backgrounds, I'm much more interested in the basic core reason why your character became an adventurer, how they could have joined the group (difficult without knowing the group, I understand), and what they're looking for. Backgrounds tend to be, in my experience, a very poor predictor of how a character will be played in a game. And I'm far more interested in how the character will interact with others and what sort of game you're looking for than anything else.

I didn't get time to edit this in time but I'm willing to change her outfit if you like. Also I can understand your worries but I have played numerous male and female characters and I know how to roleplay correctly various personalities and genders.

The concept for my aasimar paladin was that he tried to steal treasure from a shrine of Anubis in order to buy medicine for his sick mother but he was attacked by a zombie only to be saved Anubis himself who while commending the aasimar for trying to save his mother the god punished the aasimar by ordering him to become a paladin of his and to protect those who seek knowledge of the past from the undead (in addition to destroying the undead while he's at it). It's not pulp but it is an interesting concept of a former tomb robber becoming a holy warrior of the guardian of tombs does sort of feel pulp-like I guess.

I do have one of other character: a crossbow wielding male halfling archaeologist who is known for sprouting off bits of history. Still working on background for him.

I have a lot of characters for mummy's mask. Again I can change the ifrit inquisitor's outfit to be more suitable. It'll still be Ancient Egyptian like but it'll cover her breasts.

However from the pictures I've seen, some people in modern Osirion are wearing clothing that could be considered ancient Osirian attire. And according to the mummy's mask player's guide it said that while heavy armor like full plate would be rare most people wear armor like leather and lamellar leaving chain mail and scale mail for more robust protection.

Now I'm not arguing with you (I apologize if it sounds like I am), I'm just making sure I'm understanding you completely as I like to make sure I'm on the same page with the gm especially when it comes to concepts the gm is looking for.

Also if I remember correctly Indiana Jones was listed as having a lawful good alignment.

Greetings Adventures. I would like to join in on this. My name is Louisiana Jane and here's my story.

The Story of Jane:

Louisiana Jane comes from a wealthy trading family located in Cassomir. They made most of their money generations ago and have been living off of the deals that their ancestors made. The family hasn’t fallen on hard times, but the coffers are almost empty.
Louisiana was tutored in the finer subjects during her youth. She struggled at mathematics and religion but she excelled on history and chemistry. Guess that’s what lead her to tinker with alchemy. As she grew her parents wanted her to focus more on the business of trading and selling widgets and gadgets. She was able to pawn off most of the responsibility on her younger siblings and retreat back into her lab with her pet flying squirrel, Data and that’s what she likes to do. Hang out in her lab mixing potions and dreaming about adventure.

That all changed when Louisiana’s family tried to get her to marry some rich merchant from Qadira to seal a trading contract. As soon as Louisiana found out, she snatched some money from her parents, grabbed Data and snuck out.

Since then, she has been gathering trinkets and stuff she needs for adventure. Though, the world is not as gentle as she thought it would be, she had has to turn her chemical concoctions against more than one over sided jerk trying to have his way. She has grown a little tough, but she has also grown more adventurous. She heard about the opening of the Necropolis in Wati and headed down to find more adventure. That’s what brings her here today.

I have the basic stats on the profile, I am still uploading all of the information, but the just is that Louisiana Jane is somewhat a Indiana Jones character with bombs and a flying squirrel named Data. She is an Alchemist with the Crypt Breaker subclass.

Ancient and modern Osirion styles mix quite a bit (just as ancient and modern Egyptian do). Antique armor will stand out. And yes most people lean away from heavy metal armor in the desert. Though that, even historically, didn't stop some people. Such armor would almost certainly be foreign and notable. Though as I mentioned, foreign armor, while uncommon, isn't unknown in Osirion. It is a "modern" country with a large influx of foreigners at the moment. (Many of which may be the player characters.)

Don't worry, I'm happy to answer any questions people have.

If someone makes a character similar in theme and motivation to Indiana Jones and puts Lawful Good as their alignment I wouldn't object (and possibly wouldn't even notice).

I've got a few ideas bumping around in my head. How do you feel about the Primalist wizard archetype from Inner Sea Magic? I'm thinking of a wizard dabbling in swashbuckling or gunslinging, or else a Hexcrafter magus doing the same.
