I don't know how smart we are. Meaning if we know that the air we breath comes out of us as something else.
Hitoru the doors are triggered by an element, Breath as you say could be wind, but that is not the answer here. I believe it is water. No time to waste. that thing is getting closer.

Lilah
Lilah blinks groggily as she starts to come to. What...where? The fog clears from her head slowly, leaving in its place only a dull pounding. She winces and moves to cradle her throbbing head.
There's a soft clink as her bonds prevent her from doing so. Frowning in confusion, she tries again. A feeling of panic starts to creep up on her. She starts desperately and futilely pulling at her bonds, her muscles growing unusually large as her nose seems to flatten to give her a slight, bull-like appearance.
STOP! some part of her mind screams at her and she freezes. This will get you nowhere!
Lilah closes her eyes tightly, trying desperately to calm down, but her attempts at deep breathing only come out as quick gasps for air.
Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the mind killer.
After what seems like an eternity, she gets herself under control, her appearance returning to normal. With one last deep breath, she opens her eyes and looks around.
On another table she sees the form of her unconscious traveling companion Q. Q: If you don't want us to have been sent in together, that's fine. This just seemed like a good way to include you. "Pssstt! Q!" she whispered. "Wake up!" Oh please don't be dead and leave me alone. Oh please oh please don't be dead.
She furtively glances around the room, looking for any sign of their captors or any clues about where they were or how they might escape.
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Q the Hermit
Q jolts awake, gasping for air. "Lilah? Lilah! Thank the gods you're okay!" Q wrestles with his bonds with all his might but to no avail. "Where are we? How did we get here? I can't remember anything." Not remembering things seems to be a common theme with me. He thinks to himself, getting frustrated.
Lilah
"I don't remember much either. There were arrows and drow and then we were here. They must have knocked us out and taken us somewhere." She tries to keep the quaver out of her voice but only mostly succeeds.
Are we bound with rope? If so, is it loose enough that Lilah could try to use her claws to cut herself free? If it is rope, but not loose enough for her claws to work, would she be able to summon a dire rat to chew the bonds off?
If possible, her voice sounds even smaller than before. "I don't suppose you have any way of getting us out?"
Q the Hermit
Q coughs and speaks out to anyone who might be able to hear him, "Um, excuse me, but would anyone mind bringing an old man some water?" He coughs again, doing his best to sound old and feeble. The old part was easy, he just hoped that whoever had captured him would assume the rest. he looks over at Lilah, the best he can, and says in a low voice, "A plan would be nice, but I guess for now we improvise."
Q the Hermit
Q wants to know why they are staring at him, but as for right now he just wants to ask them about hundred different questions, but he figured that his best hope of survival was to keep talking, "I don't suppose you have any water do you?" He lets out a disappointed sigh, "Well could you at least loosen these shackles a little bit? They rub my skin raw. Don't worry, I won't be winning very many foot races. Walking is challenge enough at my age." Right now he is really hoping that they don't know that he is a lot more physically capable than he looks.

Our...friends? Who are they talking about? And if they thought we were going to die, why were we restrained? Lilah breathes an audible sigh of relief when they are released. She hurriedly grabs a pile of clothes and looks for a private area to change in. I'm guessing we're wearing something like hospital gowns?
When she's done, she moves towards Q. In hushed undertones she addresses him. "Any idea who this mayor is? Or these 'friends'?" Glancing at their two chaperons, she adds, "At least they seem friendly enough?"
Q the Hermit
Q shakes his head and then looks wearily at the two as they are leaving, "We won't know just how friendly they really are until we meet with this 'mayor.'" He goes to the chest and grabs some clothes before saying to Lilah, [b]"I'm not too happy about doing what they ask when we don't even know how we got her, but right now we don't have much of a choice. After a few short minutes, a well dressed, in comparison to the rest, but still not noble, man entered the room. He looked in his middle ages, and a crude necklace made of precious material walked in and took a seat
"Greeting. I am so glad you actually made it through your ordeal. Unlike your fellow friends, we did not think you would make it at all. My name is Rakton. Mayor of this small little town"
he continues
"Your friends are busy helping us with the monster that has plagued us, they are currently at the sludge works if you wish to go meet up with them. In regards to your gear and weapons, all we can offer is basic equipment. Untill our people are saved we can not even try to repair the equipment we recovered"
