Yes, RAW it doesn't work with extracts. We're allowing it in this case.
"Crystal is a fine specimen," the Kellid speaks sweetly as he derides her. "But, as you say: appearances are important. A pirate like myself cannot be seen to apologize. You have your payment so I will leave you to your business, and be on my way."
The man rises swiftly to his feet. He takes a moment to adjust his clothing, but he sees the conversation as over, and seems intent on leaving.

Nyx weighs things up for the moment before inclining her head and standing likewise - it was always respectful to stand when someone else did to leave, and Nyx did pride herself on being respectful when the occasion called for it.
"Thats perfectly fine, but in that case I presume that you don't mind that I inform Crystal that before you left, you did end up paying for your time after all? As you say, appearances are important." Nyx reaffirms, before gesturing a hand in clear dismissive if the man had nothing further to say.

"How you keep Crystal happy is your business," the gruff man replies. He makes his way to the door and walks out the office.
Perception: 1d20 + 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (9) + (7) + 14 = 30
"Funny night," Nyx hears the man mutter under his breath in Hallit as he's leaving the office. You can hear his footsteps and Sabine uneventfully escorts him out. A few moments later there's a knock on your door. Sabine speaks from outside your door, "I think that's the last of the business for the night Madame, I'll be heading to bed."
Nyx Illisha
"Thats fine Sabine, thank you for bringing this evenings...interaction to my attention" Nyx replies softly, before heading out of her office, ready to go back to her room.
If Crystal is hanging around I'll have a quick word, if shes gone to bed I might chat with her in the morning - check to see if shes ok.

Nyx heads up to Crystal's room, knocking on the door. Crystal opens the door looking apprehensive, "Did you get him to pay?"
Nyx Illisha
Nyx nods her head at Crystal's question, deciding to answer honestly. "He did actually, as a matter of fact, offer a viable method of payment. You will still receive your fee as you normally would"
Nyx pauses for a moment before continuing. "You are welcome to take tomorrow off if you want some time away from clients after this evenings interaction. I'll speak to our Vice representatives to make sure we screen our clients better in future, but you are welcome to a break should you need it."
GM Renard
Crystal sighs with relief when you mention her payment, "That's really considerate, but it wasn't terrible or anything. He was shaping up to be a great client, until he decided not to pay." She shuffles her feet a little, "We can settle that tomorrow, I'd like to just get to bed. I was planning to experiment with some new sorts of painting, tomorrow. I'll probably just hold off my bookings for a day."
I'm putting Crystal's pay at 24 gp. I got to this at 12 gp / hr with a 50% house take for 4 hours.
Nyx Illisha
Nyx dips her head in response. "I'll leave the final decision up to you. As you say, we can always settle it tomorrow. I won't keep you from your rest."
So saying, Nyx leaves and heads for bed.
That wage is fine - should be affordable.

Nyx wakes for the new day, but doesn't do anything drastic. She prefers to keep a low profile for the day - on the eve of Pauline's rescue. She occupies her time with painting for the most part, deciding to ensure her submission for the Court would be acceptable.

Once she exits her chamber in the morning, the whispered buzz of the last night's events is hotly circulating around the Melody. Marcelline is the first to notice Nyx come down into the gallery floor, and the whispering falls quiet. Crystal is noticeably missing from the scene. The rest scatter quickly to their separate duties.
In the mid-morning hours, Nyx entertains a few short visits in the artists' studios to offer feedback on some of their upcoming projects. Nikita is in a particular state of artistic crisis; the tiefling has several sketches that she might develop to her next project. Thankfully, Nyx has dealt with Nikita's particular form of neurosis. While not ready to pounce on her newest piece of threadwork, Nyx is able to offer some much-needed encouragement.
Crystal visits with Nyx in the early afternoon. She is sincerely apologetic for the events the night before and swears that Rolug Kuldar will no longer receive her invitations visit the Melody.
The space between hours seems to stretch. At long last, the sun has dropped suitably low, and Nyx starts cleaning her paintbrushes. After a moment of admiring the day's slow and distracted progress, Nyx freshens up and fetches out her cosmetics. The success or failure of the evening's events could come down to having the right extract prepared. Nyx thinks carefully on the task ahead, prepares appropriately, and takes off for the Cerise sur le Dessus.
You're welcome to wrap up any remaining loose ends here, otherwise, we'll be moving to the main thread.

Been thinking and there isn't much to wrap up yet (I have things to do / follow up on but they are set up for future dates), so I'm ready for the main event.
